I'm so glad I found H20 Adventures! We had so much fun on the half day South Fork lower gorge run…read more This is rated class 2/3 and perfect for the beginner like myself. I was really nervous at first and honestly wanted lazy river rafting with zero rapids, but after the experience with H20, I'm excited to plan another trip with them. The scenery was amazing, the late March weather was warm and as expected freezing water. We were provided with helmets, wetsuits, and splash jackets, this kept us warm and comfortable. You should bring water bottles and sunblock on the raft. Your other belongings are safely locked up prior to launch. You can also bring waterproof cameras or phones, be sure they are securely strapped to you (like chest or wrist strap, or helmet mount) they do have a professional cameraman kayaker Kevin taking amazing shots along the way so don't worry about not bringing your own camera. Nico, our tour guide was skilled, knowledgeable, and entertaining, and incredibly nice. We also had the opportunity to interact with the other tour guides Kyla and Martina who led the other two rafts on our 3 craft convoy down the river. If you are looking for something to do with your family this summer, I highly recommend H20. Get your reservations asap.

We brought a small cooler for drinks and lunch. The river was calm, no real need to paddle the whole time, the river just takes you, and very easy to steer away from the side and rocks. Plenty of side stops to pull over to eat lunch and chill. Lots of people were out in the not even knee deep water playing ball, enjoying a drink, listening to music and chilling. There were plenty of other floaters, families and rafts that day and it was pretty cool to bump into them from time to time, and everyone was friendly on the river, just big smiles. There were light rapids towards the end that lasted about 5 minutes that was actually fun and exciting. This was such a great experience and totally worth it and the 3 hour drive to come here. River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant was located where we returned the rafts and that was the happening place to be - music, quick bites and good vibes.

With it being so late in the…read moreseason, I had a feeling that the water level would be rather low which means our raft did get stuck several times along the way. I like how there was a full bathroom/shower at the parking lot. The entire experience flowed smoothly (get it). From check in, to the bus ride to the starting point, to the explanation of the rules and safety tips. The 5 miles goes rather quickly. We stopped once to swim. It got crowded a few times and we bumped into other rafts, but everyone we met was in a chill mood. I could have done without people blasting their music. Anyway, prepare to get hot, get wet, and get hungry. The end is at the River Ranch Restaurant and Lodge. You can get a bite to eat and enjoy the views of the river then catch the bus ride back across the road to the parking lot. You don't need to be reminded to bring a hat, water, and sunscreen.

WOW WOW WOW. There are not enough ways to express how awesome this entire trip was. Audrey (the…read moreguide who's raft I stayed on), Dustin (the Team Leader), Mcclure, and Roman will forever get my praise for how they exceeded my expectations. This was my first time going both whitewater rafting and camping, and the entire time I felt taken care of, safe, and catered to in ways I hadn't even expected. I don't know how many times I shouted "Team Audrey!" as she expertly navigated difficult rapids. Roman was the guide responsible for riding ahead of us with all our cargo and setting up camp, and every time I was more and more impressed with the breathtaking set up he did with all of our tents, eating areas, and shaded spots. Dustin was a worthy team leader who made sure our trip went smoothly and on time, and was awesome to talk to and joke around with. And McClure was a thorough teacher and guide who is clearly passionate about what he does! I've noticed some reviews of people complaining about things out of Tributary's control like the bathroom quality or the heat or the other parties that would camp nearby. And even though that is technically not Tributary's juriscdiction, I still felt as if the four guides with us did everything they could to anticipate these problems and lessen their impact on our trip. Like they had a handwashing station for us, and had plenty of shaded areas for us to rest in. Not to mention they really took care of the quality of food we ate, giving gluten free and healthy options as well as snacks and drinks for us. Audrey, Dustin, Roman, and Mcclure. You four have a forever client in me. It is because of you guys I have such memorable stories that I will be telling until I am old. I can not thank you guys enough.

My friend saw a reel about river rafting in Truckee and we decided to try it out when we got there…read more This was the only place that popped up when I searched and there were only two morning spots available for our date. We booked the 9:30am online. We arrived the next morning and accidentally went to the competitor next door (extremely similarly named) and were directed to the correct entrance. After parking and checking in they told us we had until 4pm to get off the river. Whoo hoo! We got our life jackets and paddles, jumped on the raft and began our 5 hour journey down the beautiful Truckee River. Most of the ride was very shallow, calm, and serene. We stopped and wadded/swam in the river a few times. There were some bumpy fast portions and my husband fell off during a fast rapid when we accidentally rammed into another raft that was stuck. He ended up hitch hiking into their raft since we couldn't stop ours. This is a very popular activity. Lots and lots of rafts as the day progressed. Bring water shoes as it is rocky. There are portable toilets every mile mark. Journey is approximately 4 miles long. Raft easily fit the 8 of us. Quick shuttle back to check in point. Highly recommend river rafting here. $72/adult $40/kids. Paying premium price for a very memorable experience.
