I stayed in a double bed lake view suite in May '21 for a week. My friend and I had an amazing stay at this inn. The view was perfect. The pool area was well kept, with night time ambiance and always kept clean. The grounds were manicured with care. The owners & managers have even added a bit of decor from their home country. That was very special to see. Everyone we dealt with was kind to us and did everything they could to help us with any of our issues. You can tell that these people enjoy what they do. They definitely put love into thia place. The sunsets I saw over the pool and lake were spectacular! We even went on a boat cruise that was able to pick us up on their dock. The only reason why I gave them four stars was because the furniture was a bit out of date, but we did not let that spoil our vacation! The furniture they do have was certainly fine for our purposes. We didn't suffer because of it. I highly recommend this motel for the view, the pool, the lake, the ambiance, the sunsets and the hospitality. Happy vacationing! read more

I found this place on my way to lego land and thought I'd pop in for a night or two, but the time I spent there were the two most restless nights I've had in a really long time. When I first arrived I decided to take off my shoes and settle in, not only was my room small and crowded, but after walking around for 5 minutes my feet were dark and covered in filth. I also found a sticky substance in the crevices of the tiles. While I understand it's hard during COVID-19, This is the reason safety precautions need to be taken! In the bathroom there was not only a hole in the shower but bugs in it too! If you are looking to come here because of its distance to legoland, or even if you just need a place to stop, I urge you to go somewhere else. Even the pool had dirt on and in it. The only thing I enjoyed was the view of the lake. In conclusion, save your money and pay the extra to go somewhere you can enjoy and breathe in safely. read more

We arrived after a 18 hr drive and was greeted by the owner who said we had to register through a little window. My gut feeling said to leave, but was so exhausted we took room. The pics of hotel must have been taken from the 60's. Everything was sooo run down. The sink faucet wobbled, the toilet had wrag around pipe to slow leak, door had gap when closed. No elevator and rickety steps . With no lock on adjoining room, emergency sirens going off, we barracaded door with chair to take turns sleeping. Next morning, no one on premises. Office and breakfast area still closed. Don't stay here. read more

This was second time we stayed here and the last. The place was dirty and I had to sweep the front door area as it made me sick. The furniture was old, damaged, screens out on patio. The second night we couldn't even sleep thinking about it. I emailed the owner twice to discuss but no reply. The Dock area is nice but again all furniture broke or too dirty to sit on. Yes it is an older hotel but the people are very nice and I love the plants and trees with an Asian feel/theme. It is family affordable and very close to Lego land. This is our 2nd time staying here. I enjoy see the lake and watching people take their boats out. read more

This was our first visit, and we brought our boat AND our little dog ($10/night extra each). Jimmy is a very involved owner & let us know straight away not to walk the dog in the back, near the lake. Unfortunately, we saw other guests letting their dogs LOOSE in the back and no owner in sight...so I don't know if it's a selective rule or not. Anyway, it was a good motel for both boating and having our dog stay with us. Lots of families with kids, of course, with Legoland nearby. We are smokers, and noticed our neighbors requested a move to another room after we arrived (guess they didn't like the smoke on the back patio). All screened patios are interconnected, and if there are smokers, you will probably get some smoke. You can also sit outside at the patio tables, but that smoke also wafts into the patios. Another 'neighbor' was complaining about room odors, but this person said they didn't want to complain to the office. They can't fix it, if you don't report it! For the most part, guests were friendly & said they liked the motel. Very good housekeeping staff -- they left my $4 tip on the first day, so I left it (plus some) again at checkout. The room and linens were very clean and smelled like bleach (which I appreciate). No bedbugs to be found. TVs were fine, and there were two room A/Cs, one in the bedroom area, one in the kitchen/living area. For comfort and cleanliness, it gets two thumbs up. Rooms were presentable & bathroom was remodeled nicely. Kitchenette had the basic equipment, but only one bowl. Anyway, as one of the few motels on the Chain of Lakes where you can keep your boat, it was excellent. We chose to use the boat launch down the street, instead of the launch at the hotel, since the public launch had a wider ramp and deeper water. We docked overnight at the only spot at the hotel dock, but there were no cleats (we used the pilings). They have some floating docks, but they aren't connected to anything (so how do you get out there?). We will return again, for sure! You can't beat spending a day on your boat on those lakes. read more

Haven't been to Florida in almost 10 years found this gem of a Hotel in Winter Haven Florida right down the road from Lego Land. My family and I had a great stay. The rooms had million dollar views which over look the lake. It was so relaxing just hanging out by your screened porch and chilling. Included is a continental breakfast which Imo is fantastic. The scrambled eggs are amazing. Also the owners are extremely courteous and professional. They go out of there way to try and ensure you and your family have a relaxing and comfortable stay. Please bear in mind that this is not a 5 star hotel. (Which is reflected in the price). This hotel by far exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to plan my next vacation. Hopefully it will not be in 10 years. read more

This resort has a beautiful view and a friendly evening door greeter. What that bad is that they give you white towels and expect you not to stain them or you have to pay extra? I think that if you do come here bring extra towels of your own, water bottles because the plumbing something is terribly wrong with the water and I would not drink it. I couldn't even rinse my mouth out with it it's so bad. They only serve coffee with their breakfast there's no juice or water and they aren't attentive to the breakfast buffet . I think for the price and location I'd step up my breakfast game they should have enough money to do that . read more

I booked this room when I went up to enjoy Sun N Fun, when I pulled into the hotel I was skeptical and it got worse the further I went.. The office area was dark and cluttered,, then when the opened the door to the room it was like going back in time to when the hotel was apparently first opened. It Stunk.. the carpets were dirty, the bedspreads looked like the original ones that had to be at least thirty years old or more.. I could actually see foot prints black ones in the actual carpet.. It was horrible and i would not have stayed there for free. The owner offered me another room which was just as bad. The room was over priced and horrible is all I can say very sad. I went down the road a few miles and paid less for a spectacular room DO NOT GO HERE.. unless you enjoy filth.. read more

I do not understand the other reviews on here and other websites, but this place is a dump and at 80 bucks a night it is highway robbery too. Where to begin. We share a door with the room behind us, it is a closet door not a proper door, I could kick right through it and it is so ill fitting that I can see the light of the room around the edges of the door. I can hear what they are watching on tv too, and every time they leave their room the door shakes. The carpets are probably older than I am. There are tiles loose on the bathroom floor, I actually pulled one up and asked my husband if he wanted a souvenir. The bar in the shower is missing and there are two gaping holes where it used to be. The light switches and panels are disgustingly dirty. There is no hair dryer. The ac is a jalopy. I am at a total loss right now and the only thing getting me through my night here is knowing I will be sleeping in my own bed tomorrow. Oh yes and the fire alarm looks like it is 20 years old, and I doubt it works, also the deadbolt in the door does not turn so the only protecting we have from the outside world is a little bedroom lock. I felt safer sleeping in a spotty hotel in downtown Orlando. I am convinced that the reviews on this site and others are locals trying to prop up local businesses of their friends. Don't be fooled like we were. Spend the extra 20 and get a good night sleep somewhere a little ways down the road. read more

Excellent place to stay when visiting LegoLand. We weren't sure where to stay and the LegoLand Hotel was completely booked. This place is less than 2 miles away and situated on the lake. For $30 more we got a suite on the ground level across from the pool and lake. The owner was very happy and friendly. Our room was clean and quite which was exactly what we needed after a long day at the park. The beds could be a little more comfortable with new pillows and bedding this is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Would stay here again the next time we visit LegoLand read more

I can't complain this place came to our rescue when our first hotel was disgusting... They gave us a suite and let us check everything out before we agreed to stay. We love going to this hotel. The owners are really sweet and helpful. It is close to Legoland. It is very family friendly. The kids can fish, swim in the pristine pool or just play on the sand. They serve a yummy homemade breakfast. The rooms are really nice and can accommodate a romantic getaway or a family get together. We live 5 hours away but go 2-3 times a year and the owners always remember us It's like our little bit of paradise. You won't be disappointed read more

Oh my - let's start with the positives. It was a 5 minute drive to Legoland, it had a screened in porch which looked out to the lake. The negatives were many. I didn't go in expecting a 5 star hotel but what I did expect was for our room to be clean. It was most definitely not. The toilet had small curly black hairs on and around it, there were damp used towels on the back of the bathroom door, the kitchen area still had crumbs and sticky stuff on the counters, and the floors had hair/ dust bunnies in all the corners. We all wore socks while in the room but my son took his off for approximately 10 minutes, and the bottoms of his feet were black. We couldn't enjoy the porch because the people on either side of us were constantly out there smoking very heavily. Our air conditioner didn't work well, the bathroom light had one out of 5 lightbulbs that worked, and the walls were cracked and had a lot of dark smudges on them. We left a day early. Yes this place is fairly cheap but we definitely will not be staying here again. read more

I have stayed in my fair share of hotels, but I have never seen one like this. Lake Roy Inn is an aesthetic jewel, located right on the lake. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with beautiful plants, flowers, and trees to give it a fusion of tropical and far east feel. The breakfast is not your typical continental breakfast, there are hot items available. The rooms are comfy and clean, with actual tile floor instead of carpet. This wasn't just a stay, it was an experience. Can't wait to come back! read more

My husband, two kids and I stayed here for one night while visiting Legoland. It is very close to Legoland as well as just about any casual restaurant chain you can imagine, as well as a very nice Publix and these were all pluses. We have previously stayed at the Legoland hotel which was fun for the kids, but we can't justify the price of the Legoland hotel nor the mediocre and very expensive food there, so we thought we would give this place a try. For the most part, we were satisfied and would stay here again. We had a King Suite (it was the upstairs part of one of the townhouses with a king bed in one room (this room had a screened in porch overlooking the lake and also a mini fridge in the room) and a queen in the other with a bathroom between. Each room had it's own TV. It was nice to be able to put the kids to bed and then have a glass of wine on our patio and watch TV without disturbing them. Our rooms were fine, though the property in general is quite dated. The towels were probably the worst thing. They were clean, but VERY thin and rough. The sheets were also clean, but it seemed as though they had been in use for a very long time. The breakfast was a typical hotel continental breakfast, but with fewer cereal options. We had planned ahead and gotten the kids small containers their favorite vacation cereals at Publix so this was not a big deal. The coffee was good which is the most important thing for me. Overall, I would call this place charming. If you are looking for a clean place to stay, it gets the job done, but it's not fancy. read more
