I had been a patient of hers several years ago and this is why I came back. I called on a Tuesday morning because my tooth pain was getting worse and worse. My regular dentist (who I should but won't name) kinda shrugged if off. He sent me on my way with a tube of Sensodyne. I was in luck that there was a cancellation and I went to Dr Bills office right away. It's a super convenient Cary location. All of her staff is super warm and caring. She even has a therapy dog on staff !!! She numbed me up really well and the procedure was painless. She and her assistant chat the entire time so that really keeps your mind off of what is going on in your mouth. I would so HIGHLY recommend Dr Bills and her staff. A root canal isn't really that bad.

I have spent the past month of my life in hell. It all started with a filling 2 months ago. That…read morefilling caused me such extreme cold sensitivity that it made me tear up drinking iced tea. Ice cream? Forget about it. The dentist said it was normal, it would go away. Fine, I would wait. Then I was waking up in the middle of the night with the worst pain I have ever experienced in that side of my face. Both the top and the bottom of my mouth. Dentist said I was grinding my teeth. Gave me a night guard. Night guard didn't work, dentist said I probably had a sinus infection because looking at the x-rays, my teeth were perfectly healthy. (I'm glad they looked healthy, they felt like they were about to explode but thanks for that.) I went to the doctor. Not a sinus infection. Dentist referred me to a TMJ specialist. Instead I looked on the internet and found Dr. Bills. Dr. Bills and her staff started off on the right foot by TALKING to me. Asking what was going on, explaining things that the dentist didn't bother explaining to me. Then she tapped on my teeth and sprayed water on them. The whole problem with my mouth? One tooth. The tooth that was filled 2 months prior. It would need a root canal. They didn't have any openings for 2 weeks, but since I was in pain for over a month, they made one. I don't like dentists. I especially don't like the idea of a root canal. I had never had one, I was scared to death. I told Dr. Bills that I would prefer to be put under. She disagreed, telling me it wasn't as bad as I thought and that it would cost extra and instead she could give me Valium for free (even though she thought I didn't even need that.) So I reluctantly agreed. She's the expert, right? So my parents took me in that day since I couldn't drive myself on the Valium. I was relaxed. High as a kite, really. I am not kidding ONE BIT when I say that I have had TEETH CLEANING that were more painful than Dr. Bills' ROOT CANAL. Just the tiniest prick from the needle (and really, it was the least painful needle prick I've ever felt) was the only thing I ever felt. I think I might have ever gone to sleep during part of the procedure. And thanks to the valium, I slept for 4 hours, woke up with the numbing effect worn off. The procedure was at 6:45 am, and I have not had any pain killers since. Around lunch time I ate ice cream. I nearly cried. Not in pain, though. Quite the opposite. Dr. Bills is the real deal, y'all.

I'm in Clayton and it was for the Cary office but I said sure, because I'm in pain and preferred not to wait. I arrived at the office today for my appt and they told me it was in February. They were going to see me anyway, thankfully after driving 40 minutes, but then I was told they didn't have a referral. When I spoke to the person on the phone the previous day they assured me they called my dentist and had the referral all ready and not to worry about it. I don't know if the person making the appts is playing games with people or they are just that unorganized but I ended up walking out and will never go back. If they are this incompetent for a consult I can't imagine the nightmare of having actualy surgery at this place.

Before administering the anesthesia, he made a snarky comment about having to administer it because he was already rushed to the surgery. He didn't step into the waiting room to inform my mom that I was finished with surgery or to let her know how it had gone. Additionally, the instructions for the post-surgery care were contradictory and difficult to follow. The instructions were confusing, and one of the directions advised the use of a medication that was not prescribed or mentioned of during the initial consultation. Overall, I felt uncomfortable with Dr. Cusumano due to his lack of professionalism and tact. His bedside manner was off-putting, and I would not choose to go to him for future oral surgery needs.

Dr Englehardt did a good job excising a large wisdom tooth, in a delicate spot near sinuses, with no problems or side effects to report a week after the procedure. I had general, not local anesthesia. You will want to prepare for that decision and know what anesthesia and pain medicine you prefer. The one slight negative was on the day of the procedure, we had to go through that decision all that again. The combination of versed and propopil(?) worked well for me the 15 minutes I was "out"- virtually no down time recovering. I did not want fentanyl because of all the bad press about that. The staff was courteous and got the details right, except for the one encounter on day-of in the Garner office where they asked again about anesthesia, like nothing had been decided before. It took a lot of skill to get out a delicately placed wisdom tooth and Dr Engelhardt and his assistant seem to have done an *excellent* job.

I was very thorough when I completed my forms in explaining my previous experiences & why I wanted to see Dr. Cook. I went in to my appt. today (Saturday) & was first shocked when I was asked for about $35 for uncovered X-rays that I would need that I wasn't forewarned about during any of the calls/texts made to me. Then, I was told there was an extra fee for using a card to pay this unexpected fee. Ok, I let that slide. During my cleaning with Val, I learned that Dr. Cook wasn't even there & I'd be seeing his associate. Ugh! Did they not read my paperwork??? I don't want to see his associate. I don't trust dentists at this point & was specifically giving Dr. Cook a chance, so please try to understand my disappointment by this entire appointment at this point. I spent 1.5 hours there to see someone else just to be told that I can come back to see Dr. Cook on a Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. I have to wait now until I can be off during the week to meet him & that's not going to be anytime soon. I made my next appointment for a cleaning, but I'm not sure if I'm even going. Im basically giving them a 3 star because the people I met were friendly. They just need to be more transparent & upfront about fees & make sure they are scheduling patients with who they actually want to see. After seeing the other dentist, my hygienist left me with another associate who did a panoramic scan on my mouth (I truly don't know why). From there was I taken to the front desk to check out. There was no flossing me. I didn't get a new toothbrush like at other dentists. What I did get was a cute cup at the end though. Thanks, Deja!
