Blue Oyster Cult * "(DON'T FEAR) THE REAPER…read more ...as I slowly awaken from anaesthesia, I hear "Boy, he sure does have a lot of problems"... ....later I'm pushed out the door in a wheel chair hearing "Don't worry, your secrets are safe with us!" ....6 weeks later I start having major pain and running a low grade fever and return for another surgery to remove a a part of the extracted tooth that was missed ...2 weeks later in severe pain and feverish I found another surgeon who finally properly took a c-scan to find a piece of loose bone left over from the botched surgery that has to be removed and sent to pathology ...As I wait to go into surgery, I'm writing all of this to ask one resounding question "Is this really where you want to have your sedation dentistry?"

Strongly not recommended!! This is the worst tooth extraction I've ever had! The first time I went…read moreto see Dr.David, I waited for more than 30 minutes and I was not told that there was a fee for consultation before I went. Then the consultation only took less than 10 minutes and I paid $70 for it!! After a brief talk about financial advisers, I made an impulsive decision to pull a tooth here. As a result, I had five teeth removed and the total bill was over $5000 (covered by insurance)!! So, I called to ask about the bill and didn't get a clear answer or the answer is that the consultant was busy! So, I went to the clinic and asked the financial advisor directly for the bill details but I was told that the financial adviser who worked on my case left!! ?? I still insisted on seeing the bill. The employee offered to leave my email and mobile phone number and said they would send me the bill details! Half a year has passed, and I still haven't received their email or even phone call!! I regret pulling teeth here!!

Being in dentistry for over 25 years and having a tooth extracted is like taking a piece of my…read moresoul.Dr. Englehart, his surgical assistant, and his support staff made me feel at ease and my experience was great. IV sedation is the way to go. I closed my eyes and before I knew it I was finished and waking up. I'm recovering now with little discomfort. I can't thank them enough for their exceptional care.

Dr. Englehardt is somewhat reserved, but thorough. He is very experienced…read more Though I did not engage his partner Dr Van Berg, he seems much more talkative (not saying he is not skilled). Dr Englehardt did a good job excising a large wisdom tooth, in a delicate spot near sinuses, with no problems or side effects to report a week after the procedure. I had general, not local anesthesia. You will want to prepare for that decision and know what anesthesia and pain medicine you prefer. The one slight negative was on the day of the procedure, we had to go through that decision all that again. The combination of versed and propopil(?) worked well for me the 15 minutes I was "out"- virtually no down time recovering. I did not want fentanyl because of all the bad press about that. The staff was courteous and got the details right, except for the one encounter on day-of in the Garner office where they asked again about anesthesia, like nothing had been decided before. It took a lot of skill to get out a delicately placed wisdom tooth and Dr Engelhardt and his assistant seem to have done an *excellent* job.

Update: 2+ years later and the team at Signature Smiles continues to exceed all of my expectations!…read moreI called for an emergency consultation as I'd broken a tooth (the HORROR) and was in pain. They were not only able to fit me into the schedule, the called me 3 times to move me to an earlier time so that I could have a cleaning done (I was past due) in addition to having my broken tooth looked at... But wait, there's more... They were also able to fit me in for a temporary crown the same day of my appointment (they are generally booked up for the next month+). I no longer call this place a dentist's office... it's a Dental Spa!!!!! Treat yourself, don't cheat yourself. Original: The team at Signature Smiles has really created an experience!!! The atmosphere, spa like amenities and professional and gentle team have made a dental visit something to look forward to. They use cutting edge technology to make the traditionally hard parts of a visit a pleasure! Lip scrub, weighted blanket, neck pillow with essential oils, shades, small x-ray pen, TV to see your images as they are being captured... I could go on and on, but try them out for yourself.

I'm kind of disappointed. I found out about Dr. Cook from a post his wife made in a FB group awhile…read moreback. As soon as I got my dental insurance back, I immediately made an appointment. I was very thorough when I completed my forms in explaining my previous experiences & why I wanted to see Dr. Cook. I went in to my appt. today (Saturday) & was first shocked when I was asked for about $35 for uncovered X-rays that I would need that I wasn't forewarned about during any of the calls/texts made to me. Then, I was told there was an extra fee for using a card to pay this unexpected fee. Ok, I let that slide. During my cleaning with Val, I learned that Dr. Cook wasn't even there & I'd be seeing his associate. Ugh! Did they not read my paperwork??? I don't want to see his associate. I don't trust dentists at this point & was specifically giving Dr. Cook a chance, so please try to understand my disappointment by this entire appointment at this point. I spent 1.5 hours there to see someone else just to be told that I can come back to see Dr. Cook on a Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. I have to wait now until I can be off during the week to meet him & that's not going to be anytime soon. I made my next appointment for a cleaning, but I'm not sure if I'm even going. Im basically giving them a 3 star because the people I met were friendly. They just need to be more transparent & upfront about fees & make sure they are scheduling patients with who they actually want to see. After seeing the other dentist, my hygienist left me with another associate who did a panoramic scan on my mouth (I truly don't know why). From there was I taken to the front desk to check out. There was no flossing me. I didn't get a new toothbrush like at other dentists. What I did get was a cute cup at the end though. Thanks, Deja!
