Skip the pontoon rental…read more Nothing they advertise about their pontoons is correct. The website lists incorrect prices (8 hours in a pontoon is $480, NOT $309 as listed). When you follow the links to reserve, FareHarbor not only states that Lake Murray Marina has "The Newest Luxury Fleet on Lake Murray!", it also explicitly states that the pontoons have bluetooth stereos (they don't), bimini tops (they don't), tables (ours didn't), and swim ladders (again, ours didn't). The boat we were first assigned had a broken table and broken captain's chair. I asked for a different boat with a functional captain's chair and was informed that the only other options didn't have ladders. We opted for no ladder, but found out that the replacement boat also didn't have a table. Whatever. The rental process was fairly simple, though I didn't love my full credit card number and details being handwritten and stored behind the desk. Too bad Lake Murray Marina is the only option to rent pontoon boats. Unfortunately, it's just not worth it.

Marina Store - 4 stars Gas Docks - 5+ stars…read more Campground - 3 stars Lodging - 3 stars (tentative) Restaurant - 3 stars We ride a wave runner and we normally gas up before we get on the lake but, you know, sometimes it can't be helped and you have to go to the marina. This one is really, really nice. We went there once in July or August of this past summer. There was an attendant outside to point us to the platform for parking the jet ski for refueling and he actually handled the refueling itself. He was very friendly and told us about the courtesy docks (they have ample courtesy docks as well as separate transient docks and, no, I don't know what transient docks are). So, after refueling, we scooted over and tied up in a courtesy slip and walked up to the restaurant. The boat launch looks nice, pretty straight forward, and no one was launching. It didn't look busy at all. It looks like a 2 boat ramp, maybe a 3 boat if experts. I didn't notice where the trailer parking was. The camping sites (for RVs) looked nice, tree-lined, and had a good view of the lake. I don't remember seeing any tents, so this may be for RV camping only. One bonus, there is also a convenience store across the street nearby the camping and next door to the restaurant. That means you aren't tied to the marina store hours. The restaurant was okay. Nothing to write home about. I think we had hamburgers? Honestly, I don't remember the food too well, so that says a lot. But on the lake, it doesn't have to be great - just accessible and decent. The lodging is behind the restaurant and they are single wide trailers. While that may not sound great, it means that your parking is GREAT if you are hauling a trailer. We've found the trailer to be a real problem at other places. We haven't stayed here so I'll leave that to another reviewer but I don't see how you could have a good view of the lake from the trailers. You, however, have great access to everything you need for a great weekend.

His boat was nice and clean, Lloyd didn't drink alcohol, smoke, or curse & he was just so great & patient with our boys - baiting hooks, giving advice & netting fish! The guys out of that marina have very similar boats & communicate via CB with where the fish are biting. It was great taking home a ton of fish Lloyd helped us catch & he cleaned, filleted & bagged it all with no redlines! So much fun we'll be back! I asked my boys if they would rather go to a beach & both said no without hesitation:)

I learned from the two young men working yesterday that once COVID threat has subsided this location will begin renting paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, and pontoon boats again. In the meantime, the store is recently re-opened and sparsely supplied with some basic camping supplies, snacks and drinks, Havana flip flops, hot/cold thermoses/water bottles, and yacht club tanks/tees for sale. It's a small, humble establishment but was doing some steady business fueling boats. **I'd love to see this place offering fresh burgers/deli sandwiches but maybe that'd bring too much of a crowd of hungry boaters;). Speaking of hunger--to support this local business, I purchased my first ever pickle in a pouch! It was a a Tapatio's Salsa Picante and it was delicious!! My partner was skeptical but enjoyed his fair share;) Fortunately, there are many trash bins throughout the state park (where we headed after) to dispose of the leftover pickle juice and pouch. If you're supplied with some whiskey, this would be great for campsite/onboard picklebacks!!

There are carts in the parking lot to help carry stuff to your slip and a member's clubhouse with a TV, internet, bathroom, and shower. If you are a fisherman, they have a cleaning area setup for customer use. Cedar Bayou also has a gas dock and supply store. The drawback to this marina is that it is West of the 377 bridge and a good 30 minute or more boat ride to The Islands, a popular party spot.

I was positioned very well at 525 Roberts St., near the Texas Woman's University campus, attending the TWU Demonstration School, where my father taught Educational Leadership for over forty years before retiring. I attended the Denton Independent School District, starting at the Demonstration School, where students were actually learning how to manage their own lives as well as act as counselors who advise the young students who are involved in the the classrooms and necessarily need support to help organize their own personal lives as well as those of students. I opted for the less expensive route and decided to go to North Texas State University, which changed names during my senior year, 1985. For graduate school I opted for the University of Houston, where I learned basic principles of Organizational Behavior and Management, with a minor in the realm of Leadership, which my graduate school advisor Art Jago, who became a close friend and confident. For my research practicum I traveled to Budapest Hungary, during the winter of 1990, and taught at The Karl Marx School of Economic Science, giving a short presentation on the then-current rise of the innovators of the time period: Enron and Compaq Computer Company, and simultaneously writing my dissertation, on the laboratory experiment carried out by me personally with groups of ersatz groups of night time MBA students. My graduate school experience was quite fulfilling and expanded my world view considerably, with respect for my preparation in the public education options for the record and posterity. The toilet seat in the master slides to one side every single time. The window AC is loud but I'm grateful it's there! We chose the self clean option and the reservation email said instructions were in the cabin. They are nowhere to be found. The coffee pot has burned coffee from a prior guest on the bottom and looked dirty. Kitchen utensils are bare minimum. Not even a toaster. Note to self... bring paper plates and plastic utensils! The toilet in the laundry room flushes very slowly. The full size bed in the secondary bedroom was the most comfortable but still not a great mattress. When we got here all of the cabins had spiderwebs and cobwebs. I would have expected the decks to be swept or hosed down but the chairs, tables and grills were all dirty. (don't forget charcoal!) The staff is friendly and the French fries and onion rings in the restaurant were pretty good. The rest of the food mediocre but we were grateful it was there as I didn't want to use any of the kitchen supplies after seeing the bugs and cobwebs. I think I just expected too much. Had I know that it was VERY rustic, dated and brought my own cooked food and cleaning supplies I may give the third star. Maybe I'm just too bugie. ‍

Updated 8/6/12: I've…read morehad friends at Lakeview for many years and just recently started slipping my boat at this marina. It is one of the older marinas on the lake but the family who owns it is very nice. You can walk-in, call, or email and get a response back in a reasonable amount of time. The marina is on the West shore of the lake just north of what is known as Party Cove which makes it a popular place for party boaters to put their boats. Slips fees are reasonable when compared to some of the other offerings on the lake as some are higher and some are a little lower. In terms of amenities Lakeview has all the basics covered. The slips have water and metered electric. Trailer storage is available for slip customers for an extra fee. Each dock has a locking door with a key code that changes periodically for security. There is plenty of parking next to each boat house which makes it a short trip when loading up your boat for an outing on the lake. The main office also has a small ship store that has all the basics (fenders, lines, oil, etc) available at a very reasonable price. The fuel dock is full service and offers several grades of fuel. They also have a DIY pump-out station and an assortment of cold drinks available. Note/tip: Take cash or a credit card if your boat takes a lot of fuel. My debit card won't work on this dock when I make large fuel purchases.
