This past visit we were just walking around checking out the scenery. The path is gravel, and when you get a little bit into the path there is a rather steep hill, so it isn't ideal for strollers. Its such a peaceful place to just listen to the water, sit on the bridge and people watch or explore the hiking trails and let the kids burn off some energy. The trails also connect to the fossil fields and if you cross the street, it will lead you to the lake. Their are parts of the park that allow for wheelchair use, but the main hiking tails are mostly gravel. Its a very busy park, so no need to worry about it being too secluded or not safe. Word to the wise...the restrooms have been closed since the pandemic, so prepare to go before or practice safe measures when finding a secluded tree. Lol.

I'm rating this place 5/5 even if I want to add somethings that needs to be improved. We came here to kayak, very peaceful and relaxing place to be, and you cannot beat the price- it's free. There's a boat launch area so it's very easy to access the lake when you want to kayak or bring your own little boat. The lake is a good size surrounded with vegetation's and plenty of ducks- be careful stepping on ducks' feces. I noticed there plenty of picnic shaded area with tables and grills- which I assumed you have to call the county to rsvp if you want to have a party. But I think it's first come first serve too. There's several people fishing today- we came here at 9 am, and you can still enjoy your solidarity when you kayak farther down the lake. I highly recommend this place to come in and enjoy nature. If you're looking to fish and expect to catch fish- this is not the place.

There are water stations, waste bag stations, and trash cans in all of the fields. They have shaded areas with picnic tables in each of the fields but it didn't look like there were any trees in the whole dog park. Great place to take your dog(s) and let them run around.

I had limited time, but did make it about 3/4 of the way around the main trail, with stops along the way to take pictures. Wonderful, varied scenery, varied terrain, and VERY scenic!! This old quarry has been "repurposed" and is a great spot to "get away from it all" without going too far. A good-sized lake, a few easy to moderate trails (the rocky lake overlooks are nice!!) and plenty of parking are what you'll find. No, not the best trail markings/maps, but if I figured it out, anyone can!! A great spot to discover in Greene County, I'll be back!!
