We had such an amazing time at Lake Hickory Haunts!! We have been to many haunted houses and I must say I absolutely love Lake Hickory because you only get in line one time and then you walk through all of the haunts. When you exit one haunt you are on a path for a minute or two and then enter the next haunt. I love that so much! It makes for such a fun, continuous, seamless experience. No worry about not seeing everything or running out of time. The layout is so cool! I really enjoyed their midway. You can grab some water and a snack, use the bathroom, take pictures with scare actors, and even go in an escape room all on their midway. The haunts themselves were super cool because there were unexpected and different things in the haunts. This is not the same stuff you see everywhere. Highly recommend! read more

This is my second time visiting Lake Hickory Haunts and I am very impressed by the haunted experience and their Midway of Mayhem. The actors are top notch both on the haunted trail and on the midway. The decorations are incredible and spooky, you can tell the put a lot of thought into making your experience special. Since I visited in 2024 and 2025, I think I need to wait a few years before visiting again to help refresh the experience for myself. They did move somethings around from last year, but I remembered too much. Even so, I still got spooked a few times! read more

By far, the best haunted attraction I have ever been to. I have been making an effort to visit a new one every year, and after discovering this place last year, I decided I'd rather come here again than try somewhere new. The parking situation is a breeze with attendants guiding you to a spot and there's even a free parking offer you can get from checking in on Yelp! Don't miss out! What I love about Lake Hickory Haunts the most is that they pay SO much attention to detail in every single aspect of the experience, it's just so hard to match by any other place. The makeup, costumes, and actors are always on point. They keep some of the same sections but also add new stuff, so it's always fresh and exciting. When it's show-time, they release the "monsters" all at one time and it's so fun to watch everyone run out in character! They have some of the largest, and coolest animatronics that I've seen anywhere. They also have some interactive experiences as well. I haven't tried them, but I did see an "asylum" and a "buried alive" experience. They also have food and drinks available, which I've yet to try, but I definitely will next year! read more

Lake Hickory Haunts is definitely one of my and my SO's favorite haunted house. We make it a priority to visit every year and make the trek from south Charlotte. The pace is timed out quite well as we were not bumping into the peeps in front of us nor were people walking up on us from behind. As always, though, we wish we had a little more time to really appreciate all of the detail put into rooms/trails/etc. Honestly the only improvement that could be made would be better food/food trucks, SOLD BEER/ALCOHOL and had fire pits in the hangout area. We highly recommend this Haunt and will, of course, be returning next year. read more

Drive an hour to come here. Well worth the drive and the money. Did the 7pm check in time and it was perfect to avoid long lines. Everything went super smooth and we didn't wait long. The scares we're good and had me screaming a few times. Definitely will come back next year! read more

We went last night and had a fantastic time. Loved getting to mingle and take photo's of the characters before we actually went on the walk. Everyone was extremely friendly and answered any of our questions. Food was great. Bathroom's were clean. I thought it was awesome and definitely will be back. Well worth the admission price. This is by far the best haunted house/trail I've been to. I don't honestly get scared in haunted houses at all, and this one didn't either, but the props & the actors were AMAZING! Such detail and effort went into this place and it shows. The wait was actually not bad either. We did have to wait a while to go into the trail but they had concessions, soda, picnic tables and a fire pit that you could sit by to pass the time. Only suggestion with this was you couldn't hear the DJ calling out group names if you were by the fire pit. We missed our group and probably waited an extra 30 minutes- our fault. Definitely worth the $25. Pro tip: buy your ticket online and you skip about a 30 minute wait to get tickets. Bring cash for parking too! read more

Props and effects are great, However, unbelievable about of people being shuffled in at once instead of waiting to be broken up in small groups. A Hundred people literally walking in a huge single line throughout the entire attraction. Takes away from the entire experience. Not worth the drive or the money. read more

Genuinely scary ! This has been my first haunted house so I haven't go much to compare it too but it's pretty spooky. The midway of mayhem was cool and all but most people didn't wear masks :( even when the lead lady told everyone to put it on ! There was several spooky costumes n nice places for photo ops. The donuts were okay n the hot chocolate was nasty. For some reason I thought we would go through each themed haunted house separately but they all lead together as a trail. My male friends I went with claimed that none of the actors would try to jump scare them , n I did feel like I was targeted by most actors cause they were relentless lmfao Super sick. Absolutely amazing time! We especially loved that we didn't just have to stand in line while waiting for our group to be called. All the extras that they've done in the entrance area are amazing. Loved Jeepers Creepers and everything about the trails. We will be back next year for sure!! read more

Wow! There is a lot of work put into this & dedication for sure! It shows from the minute you get to the ticket booth! & the staff, they are awesome! We came over a hour and a half away to go to this and it was amazing! We actually left scarowinds to come here lol! They quit selling tickets at 11, we were a little late but they accommodated us and let us go through & it was so worth it! The actors stayed on their A game, even though I'm sure they were tired lol, the owner came and personally walked us to the entrance giving us some history on this awesome place! He was super nice! The quality of the sets, and the atmosphere is truly astonishing! If you want a good haunted trail/house, go here! & I loved how it didn't end in 15 mins like most do! So much here to see and enjoy, if you're not screaming too much try to look around and take it all in! You guys rock Lake Hickory Haunts! read more

We've been to many Halloween haunts and Lake Hickory Haunts is by far one of the best ones. We've been repeats over half a dozen times now and have turned some family and friends onto the place. I won't spoil any surprises... considering the outrageous number of people that attend, they do a really good job filtering crowds through. My only comment, slow it down....no rush!! read more

My wife and I were recently on a trip throughout the southeast USA to visit some of the top haunted attractions in the country. While our itinerary already included the popular Spookywoods attraction in Greensboro, a friend recommended that we also visit Lake Hickory Haunts. While I had not heard of this attraction, I was intrigued by the website and the unique location at an actual lake. We visited the same night as Spookywoods, and we both agreed that we liked Lake Hickory Haunts much better! Between the creepy lake atmosphere, excellent scare actors, professional props and actual length of the attraction, this place has a lot to offer! During our trip, we also visited Netherworld in Atlanta, Markoffs Haunted Forest in MD, Universal's Halloween Horror Nights and more. However, our fondest memories are from Lake Hickory Haunts - that speaks for itself! Don't miss this when making your rounds next Halloween!! read more
