After that, we hired Ziggy to install a larger window in the garage. Later, we had an emergency when the siding company removed aluminum surround from two supporting balcony columns and discovered the columns to be so rotten they didn't touch the ground and crumbled upon touch. Ziggy came out the same day to replace those supports (roughly 25 ft in length, each), so the siding work could continue on schedule. His pricing has always been fair and reasonable. We have other work for him as our funds will allow. We highly recommend.

Why only 4 stars? We were sometimes frustrated by a lack of communication from Century Bay. More often than we liked, we'd be expecting workers on-site based on the schedule, no one would show up, and we'd get no advance notice or subsequent explanation until we asked. Also, an oversight in ordering long-lead-time doors delayed the end of the project by several weeks. A major construction project, my wife tells me, is like having a baby--it's really unpleasant while it is happening, but you forget all that as soon as it's over. We're very pleased with our porch, and despite the communication problems we would use Century Bay again.

Weather was an issue but what was more of an issue was that he worked alone and talked on his phone more than he seemed to work. Many people were commenting on how slow he was working. The rot under the siding was fixed well, the stairs were done in the back well, stairs in front my husband felt the support was suspect (means 4x4s were cut short - he made up some excuse that this was his intent) and door window was damaged and cracked. We have tried to contact him on multiple occasions, even going so far as forgetting all the support issues but wanted our door window repaired or replaced. He has ghosted us!! This is unacceptable. We paid him to do a job and didn't hold back any money (our mistake - now he has no reason to call us back). So now our only option is to hire a lawyer to get our door window repaired or replaced because at this point that's all we care about. We didn't pay all that money to have a door that doesn't function properly!
