Fresh cheese curds block or piece format... I like the 2kg pillow far R. Lol

Came here on an unseasonably warm Saturday weekend in November and the line was still about 15 people deep during COVID times. However it moved decently fast. So on the inside everyone comes for the ice cream. I asked if they had any non dairy options and unfortunately they did not. Too bad for me. So my brother Indulged in in a 2 generous scoop cone for $4.55. This is a deal in 2020 as you would easily pay $7-8 for this in MTL. I did also pickup some cheddar cheese for the family. I got to taste a small amount and it was creamy delish. Lots of fresh cheese curd options. *********Come on Coaticook if you are reading this.....non dairy is a growing trend! At the supermarket there are many company's who offer up lactose free ice cream that tastes like dairy ice cream. It would be progressive if you considered providing one or two options. Acting as the largest QC based ice cream company in the province I recommend you charge more for this... I would gladly pay a premium! ******** With the moderate cheese options I would bump it up to 4. Also for pricing of the ice cream is worth it to make it a 4 star. No dairy free it's 3/5. Call me a crazy fool! During the summer this place would be packed. Come early and come ready for ice cream!

The ice cream place has gained in popularity since the last time I came ! Because of pandemic, they also set up a drive thru service (with less choices), but the service was quick! Ordered blueberry, raspberry sorbet and new flavor, pinneaple coconut! Yum and huge servings for the price!

The ice cream with maple sugar chunks - anything with "l'erable" (maple) is a winner.

It is a relatively modern monastery, built over the course of the early to mid 1900s. We went on a Sunday morning for mass and found the sanctuary full of parishioners and tourists. The Gregorian chant was beautiful to hear, although we weren't able to stay for the whole liturgy due to a very impatient infant. We weren't there for a tour, but did stop to read some of the displays describing the history of the monastery and the rhythms of monastic life. The colored brickwork and overall architecture is beautiful. There aren't a lot of spaces open to the public, but we still enjoyed walking around and seeing some of the snow-covered grounds. The monastery is known for its cheeses and jams, so a visit to the store was on our agenda. The store, however, was located in the basement, and the only access we could find was a flight of stairs. We had a stroller, though, and couldn't find an elevator. We ended up taking turns walking the baby outside while the other person explored the store. The grounds at this time (April) were mostly not open to the public, but I've read that they have some walking trails. When it was my turn, I didn't have much time to look. But it looked like they had a large selection of abbey-made items as well as a bookstore with a good sized children's section. I bought some postcards and a French-language children's missel for a friend, but would have looked longer if I could. The Tall Man picked up a four pack of cheeses for a Swiss friend, who loved it, plus some other goodies, but we wished we had some jam! They didn't have larger bags at the register, but they did have some empty boxes. There are a couple parking lots that quickly filled up for mass. I would love to know if they have an accessible entrance to the store. By the time I found some of the store staff, though, I didn't ask since I needed to go. We noticed others who either left strollers outside or turned back from the abbey entrance.

If I'm going to be anywhere near the Eastern Townships, I detour to La Rumeur. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They know everything about the products they sell, and they go above and beyond to be helpful. It's also really cute! The whole space has a country store look and feel. You get the sense that you are in a family store (even if it probably isn't) where everyone takes pride in what they sell. If you are near either one of their two locations, don't miss the opportunity to grab a cookie!

They have a lot of cheese from Quebec, France and the Netherlands. In fact they have a lot from all over Europe as well. You can ask for a sample before you buy the cheese. With the cost of some of these cheeses, that only makes sense. We picked up some Quebec cheese this trip but on past trips we bought Dutch cheese. The bakery side has good food as well. We have tried their breads and croissants and would definitely buy them again. There is a case full of pies, tartes, and cakes for sale and we are tempted to bring one home. They always have someone working who is fluent in English if your French is not good.
