Disappointing Experience with Lahori Karahi Taste Restaurant (Hand Slaughtered Halal)
My recent experience with Lahori Karahi Taste Restaurant for catering was deeply unsatisfactory. I had opted for their Gold package and paid $100 in advance at the restaurant. It was agreed that the food would be delivered for an additional $50 fee, and everything was pre-confirmed. However, on the day of delivery, the first unprofessional act occurred when the owner informed me that he could not deliver the food. Since this was for an important event and we couldn't afford to be without food, we reluctantly agreed to pick it up ourselves despite the inconvenience.
Upon serving the food at our event, we were extremely disappointed. The quality was nowhere near what we had tasted during our initial visit to the restaurant when finalizing the deal. The kheer was so poorly made that it had to be thrown away entirely. The biryani was equally subpar--both in taste and appearance--and resembled something hastily prepared without care.
The most frustrating part of this experience, however, was the dishonesty surrounding the payment. When my father picked up the food, he paid the full amount and accidentally forgot to deduct the $100 we had already paid in advance. The owner accepted the extra money without mentioning anything. When I realized the mistake, I called him and politely informed him about the overpayment. To his credit, he acknowledged the error and agreed to return the $100.
The next day, I called to arrange a time to collect the money, but he claimed he didn't have cash on hand and needed two days to withdraw it from the bank. This seemed unreasonable for someone running a restaurant. He then offered to e-transfer the amount, and I provided my email address. However, two days passed with no transfer. When I followed up, he claimed he was out of town and would send the money upon his return. Days turned into weeks, and despite multiple reminders, he stopped responding to my calls and messages.
Eventually, he called to explain that he had undergone eye surgery. While I sympathized with his health situation, I was baffled by the continued delay in returning such a small amount. As someone who has been in business for years, his handling of this matter was unprofessional and disappointing.
In my final message to him, I expressed my frustration: "Do you think it's right to make things so difficult over $100? My father worked hard and honestly for every penny he earned, which is why I care about this amount. If you wish to keep it as صدقہ اور خیرات, then so be it. I no longer wish to pursue this matter further."
Overall, this experience left me deeply dissatisfied--not only with the quality of the food but also with the lack of integrity and professionalism displayed by the owner. I would not recommend this restaurant for catering or dining. read more
