This place was amazing!!! My husband and son went fishing first while we fed the animals in the back. My son has been fishing for a while and hadn't caught anything yet but I am happy to say that is history now! As soon as he casted he would get a bite; yes, the fish we got were small, but it was all his little heart needed. A gentleman next to us caught a bass!! The animals in the back are so cute, they are mostly gentle but will absolutely go after the feeding there is a review below with tons of information on the do's and don'ts of feeding the animals; I recommend you read it, it was so worth while. The animals are all very friendly They do get a little aggressive at getting into food bag. I think they team up. One gets u to look right. While one sneaks under your left arm and pulls the bottom out of the bag Even kept my 5yr old grandson entertained. Fishing was not to good for us 4hrs and only some 3" long bluegill read more

Prepare for deer to come and feast from your hands or even take your bag of food. We enjoyed interacting with the animals and you can get as close as comfortable to goats, peacocks, llamas and deer. The other animals are caged but most are approachable with food. There is fishing and looked like plenty of stock but we didn't fish. Good value and fun way to spend a few hours. read more

First time ever coming to this park and WOW it by far was one of my favorite experiences ever and I wish I lived closer because I'd be there everyday. We were the only people in the park since we came during "off" season for them so it was just amazing. There are SOO MANY different types of deer you can hand feed/pet. There are Elk, a donkey, sheep, goats, alpaca and more. The pricing for this experience is actually significantly lower than I expected $9/adult. I honestly would pay much more. The food they provide is also reasonable, I went with the Large bag of food for $5 and it was worth it. Lasted us a couple hours even when one of the deer ripped it (greedy!) I would highly recommend this place, it was more awesome than I could put into words. I will definitely be back anytime I find myself in town again. read more

This is a biased review. I've been coming here every year since I was single digit, and had my first heart warming animal experience here, so I'll tell you my experience, and then I'll add some cold hard feedback. Just off the highway, turn southbound, and you'll see the signs. Down the gravel road, stop into the shop. You can pay to fish for rainbows, bullheads, channel cat, white bass, carp, largemouth, rock bass, bluegill, crappies, perch, muskies, and northern pike in four different lagoons. $8 for an adult, $5 for children, fish all you want. Boats are fine, no license is needed, and they can even support camping. I've never done, so call ahead. The reason I come is the deer park. As of this writing, admission is $9/adult, and we get two big bags- $10 together. I recommend putting it under your shirt, and getting a leg of the land (the lot out back is HUGE), before feeding anyone. They have deer, llamas, goats, sheep, elk, peacocks, emus, rheas, miniature donkeys, and a Scottish Highlander. The Scotty is an adult, not AS cute as a calf, but he's a charmer! Of course, these are still wild animals. They don't jump or climb on you, but if you leave your food out for them, they will go for it! Animals in cages are used to being fed peanuts- fingers look awful close, so be aware of what's happening! Also, which I shouldn't have to say, be nice to the animals. Some animals are anxious/nervous, and many babies are very cautious. I was at the park once and deer were following a woman. Huh, who would have thought? She got mad, kicked gravel at them and screamed at them. The situation was resolved, but it wasn't pleasant. There are animals here. They won't attack you, chase you, or hurt you- but they will come up to you. They will want to be fed, and some are nervous for pets. If you feel uncomfortable, just walk away. You can figuratively walk through them. These aren't monsters, just gently walk and they'll scoot! This is a magical place to supervise a child. I find the goats enchanting. It seems every four or five years, I find a kid (kid is the term for a baby goat) who I bond with. Who doesn't care solely about food, who follows me around, cuddles, climbs on top of me (I sit on the ground lol), and just loves me. This is a great way to show a child how gentle and innocent animals are. Zoos show exotic animals at a distance, and many children skip the discovery channel. But this is real life, real pets, and pure innocence from furry friends. So, past all the bliss, some reality. This isn't a mega park, or some corporate affair. It's a gravel road. An old building. Don't expect lavish resort, think purpose completed adequately. There isn't a fancy restroom with automatic sinks and driers. Out front, there is a manual sink and soap. Out back, they use fences and chains. They aren't gross, but it's basic. The back lot is gravel. If it was grass, the deer would eat it all, leaving dirt- and it would erode very quickly- so gravel it is. Come here with the expectation of under $15/person, and having as much time as you want, direct contact, with over 200 animals, and you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is what it is. It is a park with some deer and other animals - goats, ostriches, peacocks, etc. most of the deer roam around and the others are fenced in. About 1 hour max is what you will likely spend here. It is inexpensive overall for an attraction around this area and a good place for young children to get up close to these animals. We bought a large bag of peanuts to feed the animals for $5, lasted about 15 minutes between two kids. The place was overall pretty clean from all the animal poo with lots of fresh hay around. read more

This is a fun way to burn through a couple hours. The deer are tame and they will mob you! Be sure to buy plenty of peanuts for everyone. If you take little kids, hold on to the bag of peanuts for them - the deer will take the bag right out of their hands! My wife and teen-age daughters liked this place. You will take plenty of pictures when you are here, so have the camera charged up! Remember this is a local, family-owned amusement park. No slick corporate marketing here... I these types of places. So when I came across this place, I was excited. At first we were the only ones there..and I was excited we would have the animals to ourselves...until we stepped into the "ring" and they saw the brown paper bag. The other review was not kidding. They freakin' love their peanuts. And they will nip your shirt, your pants, even your ass to get them. It was like a stampede towards us. At one point, I finally saw a family with brown bags on the other side and I booked it over to them...deer in hot pursuit. I looked like a comedy movie, I'm sure. I managed to blend those deer with the others and pass them off to the other family like a curse. Then I was able feed emu and peacocks and Pygmy goats. I stuck a peanut in my mouth to turn my camera on by the emus and it stole it right from my mouth! It was fun. There are several food bag choices. I suggest the $5 bag. It's the largest and you won't piss the animals off as quickly. We were even able to go back in and buy more food for them. read more

So worth the stop. Its on the way heading back to Detroit from Kalahari and the deer come rite up to you and eat right out of your hand. The kids love it. I remember going here when I was a kid and I'm able to bring my kids here now. There is also a pond there that you can feed fish and there has to be hundreds of them in there. It has a little shop inside that has some T-Shirts and little knick knacks. There's baby deer too peacocks goats and a big bull that's so ugly its adorable. Over all a must not miss stop on your trip. read more

This place was great! the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the animals are hilarious and friendly, and its kept very clean for having so many animals wandering around! when we first walked into the animal area we were greeted by very excited deer, they ran up to us like dogs happy to se their owners, it was so funny. Prices are not too bad and totally worth it. we will definitely be visiting again mid summer when the baby deer are ready to be born! read more

I had to double check that I was actually at the same place the previous reviewers were. I was, but my experience wasn't nearly as positive. The "road" back to the place needs serious improvement. It looks to have been paved a long time ago, but now it's nothing but gravel and potholes. We arrived at 4 pm and we didn't see any other cars around and we thought they might be closed. As it turns out they were in fact open, so we decided to give it a shot. We paid the admission price of $9 each and bought a $5 bag of feed (peanuts and corn) and we headed out. The man working there did warn us to keep a good hold of the bag because the deer will snatch it out of your hands if you let them. Once we went out the back door and into the petting zoo (a big gravel lot) things got pretty hairy. Since we were the only people there, we had the undivided attention of about 50 deer with a strong hankering for peanuts. Needless to say, we were mobbed. They surrounded us right there by the gate and tried with all their might to get to that paper bag. My husband ended up taking handfuls and just tossing it away from himself so that he could move a tiny bit. Once the feed was gone the deer followed us around yelling (or whatever the noise deer make is called) until they got the hint that the food was gone. But not before biting my husband's shorts and nudging his phone out of his pocket and stepping all over it. Once we finally shook the angry deer mob we walked around the perimeter of the place where all of the other animals were located in their own enclosures. The only positive thing I can say is that the animals all seemed healthy and well fed and the enclosures were clean. But it was boring. Really uninspiring. We walked around the place pretty quickly and decided to call it a day. As we were leaving we looked all over but couldn't find a hand washing station anywhere. Not even a bottle of hand sanitizer. Anywhere. We ended up digging into our luggage and pulling out soap and bottled water to wash our hands in a parking lot. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

It's difficult to fish their is so much weed growth surrounding the ponds. Our lines kept getting caught. They claim they restock the ponds but we've only been able to catch little sunfish. When we came the same time last year we caught several catfish. Definitely disappointed with the upkeep since it cost $8 per person to fish. read more

We loved the interaction with the Peacocks! Very cool place. The deer followed us around the park. Unfortunately while we were there we watched a family let a toddler chase one of the male peacocks as they just watched. People need to be more respectful of the animals before some stupid family lets their child get hurt out of stupidity. It was an all around great experience for my family. Me, my 2 kids, my friend and his son came for the first time to this deer park. Lagoons were everywhere, and my first impression was, "Is this a professional?" Walking into the store, I got a better impression. The items in the gift shop were very interesting and beautiful. The kids were running around, trying things on and admiring the shirts. We bought food for the animals and walked into the park. It was amazing. Once they saw the animals, the kids began to run around like crazy, feeding and petting the animals, chasing the llamas.
