Must Check Out Put-In-Bay activity! Due to Covid-19, the Butterfly House is requiring all guests to wear a mask and they are adhering to social distancing guidelines. This experience is well worth the price and will not disappoint. It's definitely a tourist attraction and you won't regret it. This is a gem and Put-In-Bay is lucky to have this attraction. You step into a world where the butterfly's live play and work! The flower gardens are beautiful and all plants are for the butterfly's enjoyment. The Butterfly greenhouse has so many butterflies that Yes one or two will land on you. Don't touch just be in the moment. Many chances for photos throughout the greenhouse and at the ticket sale desk they have a sheet of all the Butterfly's you'll see. Grab a sheet and a pen and check off all the different butterflies you see. Enjoy!

Was a great experience I will always treasure with my Mom! So many butterflies everywhere! Just landing on you, and it's magical! We had a great time! My only complaint would be the amount of people they let in at once, and lack of supervision when people are trying to catch the butterflies.

It was hot

Follows Social Distancing: They Try It's a butterfly house. So it is really kinda hard to social distance from others in said house. We went earlier in the day when it wasn't as busy. So I don't really know if they limit people going in at some point. I didn't ask. They only charged us $5 a person because they don't have that many butterflies. They normally have over 1000. Because of COVID they are were limited in the number of butterflies they could get in. So they really have around 400 right now. It makes a pretty big difference. I like the butterfly house. If I had to do it over again I'd likely skip it.

Parents could go up and down the structure. The bubble: water room was our favorite. We worked on our engineering skills to keep the balls moving as well enjoyed seeing them fly high in the air. The bubbles room was not bubbling for us. But nonetheless the soapy water had bubbles. Kids imaginations are able to thrive in the Theatre and on Lego Tables! There is a make believe Farmers Market for kids. Oh and a "mechanic" section where they can build and alter two vehicles.

There is a toddler/baby room for those little ones who can't quite enjoy everything this place to offer. For this area, you need to take your shoes off and only wear socks. Sometimes there are shoe covers available, but I wouldn't count on it. I continued to renew my pass because as my child got older, he loved this place even more. He always has so much energy so I needed to find a place that would keep him busy indoors, especially during our winter months. The bubble room is definitely our favorite room because we get to play with bubbles together. There are areas for water play as well. This truly engages their creativity so they would need to build things within the water to have it travel farther along with balls being shot up in the air. There is an area for those kids who just want to enjoy books in a little cubby and those who want to play pretend theater. Sometimes we go into the one area where the pretend store and kitchen is and my son will go grocery shopping and cook something for me. It's truly a great place to keep your kids active and engaged.

As the name states it is a very hands on museum. Lots of interactive exhibits for kids to learn and play. It was busy on the day we went. We got to see play and do so MANY things all active and the girls loved the play areas ...all of them. The bathrooms were clean and strategically placed...I was pleasantly surprised. The parking is somewhat close....& I liked the exercise...our girls napped so hard after the visit. I am in firm belief that the overall planning and logistics of this place are professionally done & handled well! This venue is a must visit if in the area and you like hands on action. The girls had a blast and that is what matters most!! 10/10 times I will return.. for the price I paid... I could see myself doing this again with a longer stay in the area! Sidenote the people in guest service station were super awesome... All workers that interacted with our family had smiles on their faces and were so helpful. ***Especially since we had Museum Pass in another state (Oklahoma City) and they participate in the reciprocating membership deal. I still paid for 2 full price even though I figured it should have be the cheaper ... But it was interpreted wrong I guess by me within 90 mile... I feel for the price I paid...it eas kinda worth it. We will return! *Questions reach out* Respectfully, Bryan and Family Oklahoma City

Kudos first to the Science Center staff, from Xander at the ticket desk to the folks working exhibits, the security guards, and finally the corporate staffer who opened the door after hours to help me find an object I'd forgotten, this is a group of friendly, competent, kind people who embody customer service. What a treat! The movie itself was enlightening and entertaining and the interactive exhibit further enhanced the experience. Returning to the Science Center will be a pleasure, made even more affordable thanks to the annual membership I decided to purchase. I look forward to going with friends and will encourage them to bring students, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren for a fun (truly fun) time.

My child (3) loves this place! It's nice being able to take him somewhere like this in the winter…read more That said, the ACM is something my nightmares are made of. This place is FILTHY. I am not sure I've ever said that in a review. But I've now been here pre-covid and post. And I still feel this place needs a new cleaning crew, maybe a long weekend to sanitize every surface. My background is in nursing and public health, and I was just appalled at how gross the toys and structures were. I don't mind letting my child play at indoor facilities - it's nothing I have a "rule" against. But after finding layers of visible dirt/grime on almost everything we saw during our December visit, I was disgusted. Then that water table someone else mentioned... it's had this horrible rotting odor for years. I couldn't believe it's still there. But it is, still giving off an offensive stench that's pretty noticeable several yards away. There is a costume area with a stage, and the costumes have seen much better days. I cringed every time my son put on a hat or helmet - every toy/material here had some type of a smell and I wondered if anyone has ever put the costumes in a machine washer or wiped down the helmets? I was pretty surprised I didn't see any staff walking around, perhaps wiping surfaces or helping direct the masses of excited children. It was only $5 to get in, but I'm not sure why they can't charge a few dollars more and make the museum a clean, safer place for children. In December, covid, flu, and RSV were pretty prevalent in our area and I was nauseous thinking what we could have brought home with all of the disgusting things my son touched. I wish I could say we'd be back, especially as my son loves it, but this place is always a hard pass in my book.

The Kids Town area was her favorite with water activities and some interactive exhibits. The toddler area was ok, with some large building blocks and a few other things that she enjoyed. The motion gallery and several exhibits were non-functioning, but for a 4 year old it didn't matter, but it would to older kids. The colorful escalator, the numbers hopscotch and even the small scale Mackinac Bridge were a hit. She LOVED the science show with the gases, fire and exploding balloons although she covered her ears for the 'booms'. Pricing is outrageous I think - $69 for 2 adults and a toddler. What?! I can go to the Outdoor Adventure Center for $5 a head (senior price), and $5 for her. The Nature Center on Belle Isle is FREE. Parking is free but limited, I got the last spot, my bf who met me there had to find street parking. The gift shop was nice and of course on the way out so we ended up with a stuffed animal and some mystery sand adding another $20 to my bill, so $89 for a 2.5 hour visit. OUCH.

We were able to play for an hour. They loved the water section. There was dancing fruit in one of the rooms and my son was dancing a lot. Another room had soccer balls that he was throwing. They had a pretend kitchen area and a seated area with magnetic blocks. My kids did not want to leave. When we walked out they had a demonstration at the science stage at 12:30pm about fire. That was really cool. They also have IMAX theatre shows. We did not want to participate in that because our kids would just scream. We did go to the dinosaur exhibit on the third floor as well. Overall, it is a nice, clean, and fun museum for kids. We will definitely be back!
