My father visited the Providence Everett ER on 2/19/26 and 2/20/26. Both visits left A LOT to be…read moredesired. During the 2/19/26 visit, no one even bothered to enter the visit into MyChart. I had no idea what was going on. Your Emergency Room goes out of its way NOT to talk to patient families. I am my father's Power of Attorney because of his severe dementia. On 2/19/26, I called three times to speak to a member of my dad's care team. I FINALLY got to speak to someone and found out Dad had already been discharged back to memory care. Why isn't your Emergency Department involving the POA in the patient's care? On 2/20/26 my father returned to the ER because his wound was bleeding way too much, he was not himself, strong personality changes, pain in ribs and profound facial swelling. I called the Emergency Department and on the third try finally spoke to someone who said they would add a note to Dad's chart to call me. No one ever called and I did see the note to call me in MyChart. As I mentioned, I am Dad's Power of Attorney and his dementia prevents him from being able to articulate what is wrong. I live in North Carolina. If I could be at his bedside, I would be. Another two hours passed and nothing. After my 7th call, I finally speak to a guy at the nursing desk who tells me my Dad's nurse "has her hands really full right now" and could he take my number. I gave him my name and number and told him that as Dad's Power of Attorney I needed to speak to his care team to explain why he was brought back and what we hoped would come of the visit. I told the guy helping the nurse that Dad had such a personality change in 12 hours and an oozing head wound that it was worth further investigation. The nurse at my Dad's memory care facility believed he had a concussion. Dad's aide believed he had a concussion. After I spoke with them about changes in Dad's behavior, as I too was thinking he could have a concussion. Not one nurse or doctor ever took the time to call me to discuss my father or why we wanted him looked at again. I checked MyChart and not a single test was run on my father on 2/20/26, the reason staff wrote that Dad was brought to the ER was incorrect. Basically, my father sat there, no testing was done, and he was returned to memory care without a single person at Providence contacting me about my father TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!! It seems illegal that the Power of Attorney is not contacted when care is administered to a person that has no idea why he is there. On a personal level, I am also my father's daughter. Is it the policy of Providence to keep family out of the loop when caring for patients? My father's memory care facility called me to tell me my dad was released and was being transported back to his room at memory care. SO, obviously the phones at Providence DO work if they can call the memory care facility but not the daughter/POA. I can't articulate how angry I am that I was excluded from my father's care. Memory care informed me that the ER removed the staples in Dad's head (he fell on 2/13/26) that the ER told him on 2/19/26 weren't ready to be removed yet. Information about the readiness for Dad's staples to be removed was in the After Visit Summary from 2/19/26. This tells me your nurses and physicians do not read chart notes. To conclude, my father was brought back on 2/20/26 for concerns he might have a concussion, but staff wrote down that the visit was about a bandage and removed staples that were not ready to come out and never spoke to me. Your facility told more to Dad's memory care facility than I ever heard. Staff never contacted me during either visit. I intend to escalate this complaint.

My wife (who's also a nurse at a different Swedish facility) asked my nurse to call pharmacy and expedite verifying my pain meds but the nurse sarcastically responded "Congratulations, you're a nurse!" Refusing to call pharmacy, and said "We can all hear him screaming..trust me". There were three nurses sitting at the nurses station periodically giggling and looking at their phones when my wife made the request. However the doctor- Casey M Krebs was by far the worst part of my visit. She seemed incapable of creating a care plan and didn't show any urgency. She seemed more focused on pacifying us for the moment and quickly leaving the room than actually helping us understand our options or initiating the process of me transferring to a hospital with urology. We were still asking her questions as she was trying to close the door and leave. It was obvious she did not like it when my wife asked any questions on my behalf, and completely disregarded her concern that the CT results showed severe hydronephrosis. The doctor said "That is not the focus. Im not concerned about his hydronephrosis, Im concerned about his kidney stones." I got such poor care that I decided to leave AMA while still in severe pain and drive to Swedish Edmonds, which was the best decision I made that day. To be honest I'm not sure the staff at Mill Creek even knew the process of transferring me, let alone doing it quickly. Once I arrived at Edmonds they took my case seriously from the start, scheduling me for emergency surgery the next day to remove the obstructive stone. My pain was well managed and my whole care team was incredibly skilled and empathetic. I am still completely disheartened with my experience at Mill Creek and would advise ANYONE considering it to go anywhere else.

When I arrived, the desk lady was most cordial and helpful and while I was talking to her a gent came up and assured me they would get to me as soon as a room opened. Not sure if it was my age (78) or what but that was nice. I waited about 15 min and was in to a room where a young lady did all the normal. The doctor was exceptionally thorough and concerned with my condition. We discussed and settled on next steps. I was really impressed with the doctor's care and I've had plenty of experience on the patient side of the practice of medicine. Wish she was my primary.

Recent examples include: 1. I was flagged for extreme blood pressure. However, the blood pressure was taken incorrectly with my feet hanging off the chair, my arm hanging straight down, my back not rested, and the cuff was way too tight. 2. I took my son in for a strep test, and they said it was negative. His symptoms continued, and when we visited his pediatrician, another test confirmed it was positive. The urgent care didn't swab far enough back. In both cases, my primary care physicians confirmed that urgent care failed to follow correct procedures. I plan to complain to Evergreen directly, but I hope others read this and choose a different provider for urgent care. These experiences have left me very unhappy.

The next day they canceled it because they counted me as a no-show the other two times because THEY failed to send the right resources to the patients. Initial visit to emergency is OK, nurses are wonderful, however, SEVERAL times my 90+ mother has been released too early and needed more care the same day, so then we go to Island Hospital in Anacortes, WA. The last visit to ER in Coupeville resulted in 5 HOURS of horrible SCREAMING (no exaggeration!) from another patient. The whole ER had to listen to it non-stop almost our entire time there. RIDICUOUS! Many patients were frightened, on top of being extremely sick. Whether the screamer was mentally off, addicted to drugs or whatever, NO ONE should be in that state for over 5 hours. I welcome being contacted by the hospital to hear all of my family's experiences. They are so lucky we don't believe in suing.

I tested for Covid and let them know. I was asked to wait outside instead of the waiting room. I understood that even though I tested they had to take precautions. Once I was called in I was not given a Covid test, the nurse did not wash her hands before taking my vitals, though she was very nice. When the doctor came in he not only didn't wash his hands, but he wasn't wearing a mask.He was also very nice, but his only advice was to wash my hands...what???? It makes me feel terrible to say it, but, it's just not a place you might want to get treatment, they need to step up their quality of care significantly. The other thing that happened to me at Whidbey walk in was that the receptionist gave me paperwork to fill out and with it there was another patient's chart. When I realized what I had in my hands I returned to the desk, whereupon the receptionist said, "oopsie" - They are all the nicest people, but not sure it's safe.

We made an 11:50 appointment online, and were called back into the room at 11:37. From registration to the medical care, I felt as though everyone was friendly and welcoming. The first thing I noticed, though, was how spotless the facility was! Jennifer F. was our RN, and she was thorough, informative, calm, and great at explaining everything to my young daughter. Then came in Dr. Dane, who had the perfect personality for a pediatric MD: funny, energetic, patient, and kind. He thoroughly examined my daughter and thought outside of the box in regards to what could be causing her problems. Both spent a lot of time with us. I could tell that Dr. Dane was really thinking about everything, and trying to make sure he wasn't leaving any possibilities off of the table. We left feeling reassured, and happy with the plan they gave us. Going forward, this will be our go-to place for after hours pediatric care. Please note that it's highly advised that you make an appointment prior to arrival, or you may not be seen if they are inundated with patients. They make this very clear on their website. Only same-day appointments are available, but you can choose from 4 locations and they open the appointments for the day in the early hours of morning. Very happy with our care today. Thanks, Jennifer and Dr. Dane!
