I got the goat meat soup. I order it to go on Uber Eats I never had African food before and thank god I chose today cause I was starving and feeling risky. So I got the goat soup and maaaaaaan lemme tell you!!! It was soo spicy and it was sooo good, it was a green soup broth with herb and spices in there. I felt like it was almost a green birria or carne en su juego that my dad makes but different tastes, same texture and different meat lol. The goat meat was fall off the bone dude and even though there was a lot of bone and cartilage, it was still so good I ate EVEERYTHING! Except the bone, I even sucked the bone holes man to get the bone marrow or meat in there pause* It was really spicy so I enjoyed it, it might not be for Everyone If you're Hispanic and like spicy food and broths this is the one for you cause it's brought back memories of food similar to what my dad use to cook when I was younger. This place has some bomb selection of Nigerian food. They never seem to pick up the phone when I call in so I just started to texting them :) I always get the egusi soup and it's been my fav since. It's a lil pricey so I don't get it often but it's understandable because making it seems time consuming.. the restaurant is small and doesn't do dine in. The parking lot is kind of a cluster mess haha because there's food trucks in that same area and a gas station connected to it. All in all, try this place out. read more

It was a great first visit. She was so friendly and talkative. I could sit and talk with her all day. I ordered the egusi soup which was my favorite and can't wait to return to order again. As well as the jollof rice and beef. I enjoyed this as well, and it was so much food I could eat it for two meals! My friend wanted to share some Nigerian food with me and grabbed some takeout from Lady T's. It was quite the experience overall with very different flavors and textures but enjoyable! I've had jollof rice before and it's great here too. Little bit of kick, vibrant tomato flavor and cooked in stock, it's a delight! The beef is a bit on the tougher side, but pairs well. We also got some egusi soup which I really liked. Melon seed doesn't sound super appealing but it works with the nutty aspect, a little kick and super tender beef. The okra soup was a bit too earthy and slimy for my liking, but the beef here was the most tender of the three. The soups came with fufu too, which while bland on its own, made for a good dipper for the soups. All in all, great intro to African cuisine! read more

This place is self-dining and feels like a hole in the wall. The food comes in to-go containers and I did notice multiple people taking their orders to-go. The person working front of house was very patient and helpful. Me and everyone in my group enjoyed our food. I had the jollof rice with goat meat, suya, and egusi. I recently heard of fufu and immediately searched online for "fufu near me". I landed on Lady T and I knew this would be the place! I phoned in an order for pickup and made it clear that "I've never eaten here before, I am super excited to try it, what do you recommend that's vegetarian that would go with the fufu?" I was told that the tomato stew was great and I immediately said "Perfect! Yes!" and added the jollof rice and beans with yam side. Until Lady T, the only Nigerian food I've had was at a small place in Harlem, NY. This was definitely of the same caliber and I am a bit obsessed now. There is no way to adequately describe how scrumptious this food is, YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY IT. Trust me. It's filling, spicy, comforting, and unlike anything you've had. Okay, folks -- I admit I'm not from Nigeria and the only country in Africa I've been to is Tunisia, and I'm a newcomer to sub-Saharan African cuisine. Still, I can say Lady T's is head and shoulders above the other Austin-area Nigerian restaurant I've tried (it shall remain nameless, although it's in far North Austin along I-35). Located in the same somewhat run-down Pflugerville strip mall as Brotherton's Black Iron Barbecue (which I also highly recommend, for different reasons), Lady T's is a low-key, reasonably priced joint that was doing takeout only when I visited (I've been twice now). The store windows are plastered with color printouts of their various dishes on offer. The Jollof Rice with chicken was plentiful and the protein portion ample, and all was nicely spiced. Egusi soup is more of a stew than a liquid -- nutty, medium spicy (not overly fiery, but you'll taste the heat for sure), with a good helping of soft, gelatinous beef chunks. It is a revelation, and once you have it you'll immediately crave more. It comes with a generous ball of fufu (pounded and mashed starchy vegetables like cassava and yam), which has the taste and consistency of library paste but goes well with the main dishes. (Hot tip: If you like, you can smash the fufu flat, spice it up with salt, pepper, Tajin, paprika, etc., and fry it up in olive oil with garlic, onions and poblano peppers, and although this is not what I'd call a trad African dish it really works.) For $1.50 you can order two "puff puff," which are sorta like doughnut holes but larger, denser and a bit less sweet, and are great for breakfast with a drizzle of maple syrup or apple cider syrup. Lady T's offers enough to satisfy every palate from veggie to super-carnivorous, and from the most timid to the most adventurous (all the way from hot dog and sausage rolls and plain rice up to dishes featuring goat head, cow feet, and snails -- they even occasionally serve up Scotch eggs). Again, I'm not Nigerian but this place seems as authentic as it gets. And you don't have to have grown up in Lagos or Abuja to appreciate it. read more

I feel bad for giving this review but unfortunately the jollof rice dish had some of the toughest beef I've eaten. The jollof rice itself was interesting since it's very smoky - not something that I've had before. Strangely I ended up liking the rice in the end. I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. After eating, I came down with food poisoning, which ruined my day. When I tried to speak to the staff about it the following day they were incredibly rude and dismissive. They showed no concern for my health or comfort, which made the situation even worse. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you care about both your health and being treated with respect. The owner of the restaurant who drives a silver Mercedes was the man who was extremely rude. After ordering Egusi soup and yam the portion was horrible and unbelievable. I put in a complaint with door dash and the situation was never handled. The food was put in a very small bowl enough to get four scoops with your fingers and a small piece of meat. All for 38 dollars !!! This is crazy!! They shouldn't be in business with prices like this. The bowl was smaller than a bowl you would buy out of a family dollar store . Ridiculous!! I ate the okra soup on the spot and it was so good and hot! The food was so hot I thought it was going to burn a hold in my leg while holding it! This is how hot the food was... We tried this place since my friend said it's a new place to try in Pflugerville. Unfortunately, we are quite disappointed. We really want to like it since it looks like mom pop place and people who work in there are nice. We had beans and plantain dish and Indomie with eggs. Dishes are just ok, quite pricey for what it is. Indomie is stir fry instant noodle for $10. The place seems to be quite shabby, menus are in bad condition and some food are not available to be ordered. They also two TVs in there with music pretty loud on one. Like I said at the beginning, we really want to like this place but Taste of Ethiopia is much better than this place. read more

Unfortunately I'm upset to say that I was not impressed. From the looks of the pictures versus what I received in person, the food was nowhere near the same. I ordered jollof and fish, the pictures all show plantains added with the meal so for that I expected there to be some which there was not. I asked them about it and they responded with plantains cost $5.99 so I left it at what it was. The rice was decent, the size of the piece of fish I received was literally just a bit bigger then my AirPods and it was super dry like how is stewed fish dry??? this is my first time and last time I will probably be coming here. There was no woah factor everything tasted like it had been sitting around which that makes no sense since it's mandatory to call at least 30 mins before to get the order made.
