I am challenged with walking and live on a hill. Ladson Garbage picks up my garbage right in front of my garage so I don't have to walk up and down my driveway. They always put the emptied garbage can back in front of my garage where I can reach it. They are a very good company and make getting rid of my trash very easy. Yes, our trash was picked up and on time. However, not professional at all in handling customer complaints. I called one day to pay my bill by phone. Their website was not pulling up in that moment. Spoke to a human being that asked for all my info & said they would process it. The payment was never processed & a late fees were applied. When I reached back out to the business to express my frustration over the payment not handled correctly they responded by proactively cancelling services for property. Even after expressing I was not requesting a cancellation of services. Please be aware if you complain they will respond by telling you seek business elsewhere. read more

Horrible. I have had the same trash at bottom of my can for 8 months. Then trying to pay them is whole different problem.

I can't believe we put up with Waste Industries' slack service for so many years before switching to Ladson. Family-owned, sweet people who always answer the phone! I highly recommend Ladson garbage. We moved to the subdivision in 2010, the previous owner used Ladson, so we just kept the garbage cans and started service with them. At that time Kissner Ladson was working out of his pick up truck. I was thrilled when I saw he was able to buy a nice huge" trash service truck". James works with Kissner. They are always on time, they always leave a note if there's a change in schedule. They are total sweethearts. I think Kissner's mother might be his secretary, who answers the calls. She is a complete doll as well. They have great prices. Over the years I've needed refrigerators and grills and patio furniture hauled off. And both of them have always come back to help me with that. They probably think I'm a nut because I bake them pies and bring them hot chocolate but I just think they're awesome!!! read more

I want to start by saying that I don't like giving bad reviews. I only write them when I feel that it is really necessary. Sadly, I had a bad experience with Ladson. After reading great reviews on Yelp, I signed up for their trash and recycling service ($69 a quarter, $23 a month). I just happened to be home when they picked up my recycling (which I paid extra for) and trash. They threw all of the trash and recycling together into the trash truck. I felt disgusted. After the first pick up, I called to cancel service. I was told that they do not recycle boxes??? and that they separate the recycling from the trash when they get back to their office. I have never heard of a trash and recycling company that doesn't recycle cardboard boxes and I'm not sure I believe that someone manually digs through piles of trash to fish out bags of recycling. A few days later, I received a bill from Ladson for $20 (for a one time pick up). I figured this had to be a mistake. I called and was told that because I had a stack of broken down boxes, that I owed them extra for picking up the boxes. I have used several recycling companies over the years and I have never heard of a recycling company that does not recycle cardboard boxes. I was never notified that they did not recycle cardboard or that they would charge extra to throw cardboard boxes in the trash. I feel cheated. I wanted to like Ladson. I really did. I always try to support small family run businesses over large corporations when I have a choice. If you just want trash service, Ladson might be good. If you want recycling pick up, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. As for as recycling pick up goes, something seems fishy to me. Most likely the only thing being recycled is the extra money you pay for your recyclables to be picked up. Also be aware that if your considering using Ladson Trash Service, that you very well may be receiving an extra bill for cardboard box pickup. After this experience, I have signed up for recycling and trash service with another small local company Palmetto Waste Services. I will give a review of my experience with them in the future. Although I just signed up with them, it seems positive. They are a dollar cheaper per quarter ($68 a quarter), plus they actually recycle cardboard. read more
