You MUST validate your parking at Sungiven Foods for 2-hour free parking, all other stores only validate for 1.5 hours - and I learned this the hard way. It was my first time driving to City Square, and I saw the sign in the parkade that read "Enjoy 2 hours free parking with purchase". I went to Dollarama first, and had my ticket validated there. I shopped around, and Sungiven Foods was one of my last stops before returning to my car. As I was driving out of the parkade, I was surprised that there was an overdue balance of $4.25 at the gate, even though I was in City Square for less than 2 hours (I had a timer on my phone). I called parking assistance and they sent Chandani to deal with the issue. She did not want to listen to my situation and was very rude and unhelpful. She kept insisting I pay for the ticket or go back upstairs to revalidate, and then walked away. I understand she may not have any authority to authorize anything or override the ticket, but she did not bother to listen or try to get help. I checked my timer, and saw that I was cutting it very close to 2 hours, so if I had re-parked my car and went back upstairs to revalidate, I would definitely go over the 2-hour limit. I paid the ticket and checked the website when I got home, and I understand that the City Square regulations states: -90 minutes FREE parking with a minimum $5.00 purchase from City Square retailers. -One retailer stamp per parking ticket allowed. Please bring your parking ticket along with you to the retailer for validation. I am upset because there was no indication (either on the website on signage posted in the mall or parkade) that the retailer stamp HAD to be from Sungiven Foods specifically (and be validated there first) in order to qualify for 2-hour free parking (instead of 90 min). Chandani also gave me the wrong information, and I would not have been able to re-validate at Sungiven foods anyways if I went back upstairs, as only one retailer stamp per parking ticket is allowed (as per the website). I did email the admin at City Square as well with my concerns over the signage, and asked for a possible refund. Chasity from Reception & Administration directed me to Precise Parklink in regards to the ticket refund. I didn't bother contacting Precise Parklink because on paper, I did exceed the 1.5 hour parking limit, but the reason for this is because of the misleading and unclear signage in my opinion.

I do wish selections at certain stores were better, but that's not the mall's fault, it's simply popularity/age of the item (an older movie that didn't sell well not being sold at Sunrise for example) which isn't even the store's fault! That's not a reason to knock down a star.

In fact, the multi year transformation that its currently undergoing makes it less of a traditional mall and more of a mini city that has spawned into a mixed-use commercial district. Their use of natural lighting all throughout the space makes it an ideal place for a photo in any corner. In addition to the space, many stores have stepped in with a good number that are high-end to appease all of the new money coming into the city of Richmond. It has become a leisurely destination for families and teenagers as folks roam the mall from corner to corner. One of the most significant transformations has been their food court, which has been dubbed the DiningTERRACE and features a number of food and drink spots. The only downside has been the mediocrity of most spots, which has plenty of room for improvement. Parking is also a mess, especially during the weekend. Folks are constantly competing for space and camping out has become a necessity during their busiest times. The food was laid out so picturesque at some stalls as well. Everything was very much made fresh to order as well. The facility itself is fairly clean and the restrooms seem to be serviced regularly. I do wish the entrances smelled less like cigarettes but they can't really control what goes on outside and the way that it wafts inside.

The mall itself has a few anchor tenants such as Best Buy, Walmart, and T&T. Other than that, there's a pretty decent food court and the usual random stores. The place does look pretty dated (1980s?). I think it's getting torn down at some point as part of the area revitalization.

All the shops you need are there: Lululemon, Pink, Norstrom, food court. Just a regular store. Just wish Nike is inside too (maybe a small store in additional to the Robson Street location). pacific centre is one of those malls that doesn't make a big show of itself above ground, but slip…read moreinside and you're suddenly in this underground network that stretches across two to three city blocks. escalators and tunnels funnel you past anchors like apple, h&m, holt renfrew (three entire floors of it), there's aritzia, sephora, purdy's, and david's tea, banana republic, lush, sephora, nespresso, and all the phone carriers line the halls too, a reminder that you can shop your data plan and update your wardrobe in the same circuit. so happy to see kiokii and added to the mix. there's canada goose, and diptyque on the second floor. holt renfrew is the undeniable crown jewel, all polished marble and prestige, but the absence of the hudson's bay still lingers, not to mention, i am still mourning the loss of nordstrom. the gaps make you wonder what could come next, hopefully zara, uniqlo, and simons, maybe even ikea in a compact downtown format? and imagine if they tucked in a vip cineplex. suddenly pacific centre becomes not just a shopping trip, but an all day destination. a bright spot: the meinhardt's space is set to transform into aburi market, scheduled for the fall 2025. a japanese grocer with sushi, bentos, frozen goods, imports, and even its own bakery concept, exactly the kind of flavour infusion this place needs. to their credit, the mall does make an effort to keep things lively with seasonal activations and pop ups. paragon tea has popped up (albeit relegated to the dungeons), and they've had make your own floral bouquets, cookie decorating sessions, and celebrated the lunar new year with a dragon dance, with some stores participating in the festivities, they have displays of christmas trees and school choirs too. still, the food court hasn't caught up to the rest. if they leveled it up, like brentwood, pacific centre could easily move from practical pit stop to a true downtown hub. with the right mix of retailers, good eats, and maybe a little entertainment, this underground stretch could become the kind of place you want to hang out, not just pass through.
