Very rude interaction over the phone. Someone working there hung up on me after I asked for their price for 1942 bottle

Our favorite deli in the valley! They have the best lasagna, we also get the garlic bread, they have pizza dough so you can make your own pizzas at home. They also now have pizzas that you can just heat up. And let's not forget about the pastries and cookies! Street parking in the front free parking in the back, we order ahead so we don't have to stand in line.

Good sandwich spot in the valley, especially if you love meatball subs like I do!…read more I found out about Cavaretta's recently and decided to give it a try as I love meatball subs. I placed the order Saturday morning for 5 sandwiches via Doordash and they were delivered very quickly. On the Doordash app, you can only choose large size for most of the sandwiches. Only the Italian had the small option. That sucks as I was planning to order mostly small sandwiches, but this forced me to order mostly large sizes. All of the large sandwiches were $15.95, and the small Italian was $12.50. I also ordered two small cannolis for $2.95 each. The meatball sub was still hot when it arrived, and I was seriously impressed by the ginormous size of the meatballs. The bread was barely visible next to the meatballs! See my picture for reference. Most of my friends liked their sandwiches, but the person who got the hot pastrami commented that the pastrami was super bland. I tried a bite and I have to agree. Wouldn't recommend getting this. We each tried a bite of the cannoli afterwards. It was good as well, but I think I'm not a huge fan of cannolis in general. Would probably pass on them next time and stick to the meatball sub.

Since my bad experience 4 years ago: I find that ordering…read moredirectly with them on the phone versus through the app is the best experience. I literally have been coming here for 32 years. They must have recently completed an interior/exterior renovation finally, it's about time! One of the reasons why I was ordering is cause I couldn't stand being inside. My experience yesterday dining-in was a better environment. However, the place was practically empty. I'm pretty sure I know the reason why. It cost me $69 for a half sandwich soup combo, and half a pastrami sandwich with a side of chopped liver, and a hot tea. The tea plate was very thoughtfully appointed: hot water container, cup, honey, lemon, and a good quality teabag, served on a stone plate. My half pastrami sandwich was quite divine, the Ryebread was very fresh, but there was a little bit too much fat on the pastrami. The coleslaw was a little bit on the older side. And the chopped liver matched the expression on the waitresses face, it also was served without any bagel chips, crackers, or rye bread, nor was I asked if I wanted any of those items as typically you spread chopped liver on something! Their napkins are literally like using rough bad paper towels. I believe their utensils are oversized. My guest was extremely doted on, the waitress said that she was making it a half sandwich and soup combo, but I don't think that's what I was charged. How can two half pastrami sandwiches, a bowl of lentil soup, and a small scoop of chopped liver with a cup of tea come to $69??? My experience coming here in all my years is that the place was extremely packed- any time I came. Even my next-door neighbor who lived on the block for over 50 years would come here weekly. They used to have almost the best matzoh ball soup on the planet, not so much anymore they've changed the formula. The matzoh balls used to have flavor and be soft. I make a mean matzoh ball soup, and when I'm not feeling well, I used to buy it from here to nurse me back-to-health- Nature's remedy. But not so much anymore. their chicken soup had become the price of liquid gold. The UGLY: this is an older Edited Review unposted from 4 yrs ago: This review is specifically for the so-called manager that refused service to me (who knows maybe he's not there anymore?) this morning after I had already paid for the order. When I told him I would be leaving a bad review he said he would be removing it!! I've been a Customer at this restaurant for over (28 years). I placed an order through the UberEAT app to be picked up at the store for my lunch today. Despite having a receipt that the items were paid for there was no order for me to pick up at the restaurant. When I asked to place another order as I was running late for work, I needed my lunch, the manager was going to charge me more money than I had paid on the app!!! And then finally told me that he's not placing the order for me that I can do it through the app!! He also refused to give me his name. Hopefully that person doesn't work there anymore. If so, buyer beware, stick to ordering directly with the restaurant to save yourself a nightmare!!!! this guy, if he's still there, sent a 32 year old customer away from the store without any lunch and made her late for work!!!!!!!!

Ok. I've seen this place online and thought to myself "if I'm ever in Woodland Hills, I'm going…read morehere". Well.....today was the day. It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. The 3 ladies that were working the front counter (around noon on 4/23) were the best. Just an all around great experience and fantastic food. I'll be back soon FOR SURE!!!!

She's very knowledgeable with everything regarding the menu, but also her personality is something that you don't see too often in customer service people. She was so friendly and sweet and funny. She made all of us genuinely laugh so many times, and not in the obligatory Laugh to a joke, but really, actually laugh. Not to mention the food was great. My husband spoke very highly of his burger/sandwich and even said it was better than x y and z restaurants. That's high praise coming from him. Now that that's out of the way, I'm a big fan of this spot. Everything is good and they have everything. Feeling breakfast? Get an all day omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. Yum. Feeling healthy? Greek salad with chicken. Done. Want a lunch classic? Tuna on rye with a pile of pickles on the side. Perfect. If you want traditional deli fare, the latkes and blintzes are also top notch. Service is always a 10. Your beverage will never hit the bottom before someone is there to refill it. Yes, it's pricey. But honestly, what deli isn't these days? The portions are big and you can usually get two meals out of it.
