I…read moream originally from Japan and a language is still a barrier (as you can tell from this writing) but I feel the language is never a barrier at Barkate Nehi's dental practice. I always feel most welcome and well taken care of. All aspect of Dr. Barkate's practice, in my humble opinion, is of excellence. Dr. Barkate: I trust he is one of most qualified and experienced doctor who is at the prime of his career serving this community. I feel very grateful I am under his care. I can feel he truly care about each and all of his patients. My visit to his practice is alway pleasant, feeling so blessed we have Dr. Barkate in the OC! I had countless questions about sleep apnea and the MAD (Mandibular Advancement Device) treatment but all the questions were answered most thoroughly with crystal clear clarity and at my first consultation to check if I am a candidate to receive this MAD treatment. I felt very comfortable and left the office with a sense of "trust" and "respect" to Dr. Barkate and his practice with 100% satisfaction. Appointment and follow-through: All the front office team members are excellent and always make me wonder how can this happen. Everyone highly professional, thorough, friendly, courteous and helpful. Kendall, you are a wonderful representation of the excellence of Barkate Nehi practice. Gill,a backoffice technician, is wonderful. He is very thorough and committed to his career. While the dental/medical questions are all answered by Dr. Barkate, procedural/maintenance questions are all answered thoroughly by him. Being new to this sleep apnea problem, I have countless questions but he never miss any questions unanswered. With preciseness. And, last but not least, Maggie who is an insurance specialist, I am very impressed with wealth of her knowledge, experience and professionalism. My PCP warned me that the fee for MAD (Mandibular Advancement Device) is not covered by insurance. Wrong. My out of pocket expense ended up only at 30% and got 70% refunded from Medicare and Medigap insurances. So, my PCP or a general perception is wrong. I am very glad insurance aspect was also taken care with zero concerns and zero frustrations in a timely manner. I have an adult daughter and wished Dr. Barkate was her orthodontist!

The receptionist Sherry does not care about their patient and lied to our face. When we told her we didn't believe that she had no idea when the doctor was going to be in the next two weeks, she asked us to leave and threatened to call police!!! Imagine that. Getting $6,000 in advance and not caring after they get your money. They made an appointment with our son, 12 years old during the school day without telling him or telling us. When we realized the appointment was during the school day and wanted to re-schedule before our son going overseas for three months, she refused, saying he should be okay and gave us a tool to use it in case of emergency. We have no idea how to use that tool and she gave no direction. This is the procedure they deemed necessary to be performed in May, but now she claimed a three months delay would not affect his teeth. After consulting with other doctors we realized she lied again and this is not the case. We thought people should know this about this place. The Orthodontist who they bought this facility from was excellent doctor and treated our daughter a few years ago. We believe they are using his reputation and high scores for their own benefits. It's a shame to have a local doctor to treat you like this.
