Had my hair cut at the Lad Barber Shop twice in the last couple of years while visiting Rockwall. Both times I went in the morning without an appointment and the next barber up gave me a great haircut! I let my hair get long and thick before I get motivated for a cut so my hair is not easy to cut. In fact my hair is so thick that I create new hair styles when I sleep at night and fashion photographers should be ready every morning in my bedroom to capture the new look when I wake up! Came in for my son's first haircut. There is no check in, so just sit on the long bench and keep track of where in line you are. All barbers do all cuts and just take whoever is next. The gentleman who cut my son's hair asked if I wanted to sit in the chair and hold him to keep him calm and happy which I thought was awesome.He put the capes on both of us and talked to my son in a kind manner. A 1 year old sat still and had fun getting his hair cut. Miracle. Thank you for being professional and kind in a situation that could've been frustrating for both you and us. I went to Lad's Barber Shop in the summer of 2015. It was blazing hot outside and I decided to cut all my hair off into a flat top. I went into Lad's and OkHui was my barber. I told her I wanted to try a flat top even though my hair was pretty long and the last time I'd had a haircut was 3 months ago and it wasn't a flat top. She was very kind and understanding even asking me if I was sure I wanted to do this. 20 minutes or so later, I had a Bum Phillips style flat top. I had been nervous as hell and second guessing myself during the entire haircut. When she finished, she picked up the mirror to see myself with my new "look". I immediately calmed down. I looked great. I told her that she had done a great job and I liked the haircut. She commented that she liked the new look also because it looked good on me and was "very clean". When I left the shop, there was a breeze outside and I noticed that I didn't have enough hair to be blowing in the wind. My head felt 10 pounds lighter. I went back to her several times after that for "maintenance" haircuts every couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I had to move to Houston for a new job and couldn't keep going back to that shop. Anytime that I'm back in the Dallas area, I intend to visit Lad's Barber Shop. It's a great shop. read more

My 5 yo LOVES this place! Priscilla is so great with him. We have had several of the salon artists cut his hair, but I love her cuts the most. She takes her time and is very precise with her trims. Everything about this place made me think of the barbers I have had as a kid or in the military. They do a fantastic job of cutting hair too. Very cool US, military, and first responder environment and really friendly people, barbers and customers alike. There may be a bit of a wait because this place is popular but the clients in when I was there were nice and talked with us. I was very satisfied with the service and the price is great. Laura offered to cut my sons hair, and rather than sharing she had 2 families and 5 cuts before us, we patiently waited. It was incredibly rude to not share that we could have taken the next stylist. After saying something... I endured Spanish conversation with the other patrons. Si hablo no hablo... picked the next available stylist... by the time we were done, Laura was still cutting her party. After 10 years I am done. Today was the final time: today I made sure all the people that were there when I came in were serviced before I went. Then Fran says she isn't good at the military cut I wanted so back to the bench to wait. Then the next hairdresser whom walked in after me and styled 2 customers whom were there before me, told me I was not next that the gentlemen that came in about 5 minutes after me was next, now all the other ladies said they didn't know whom was next before that. And of course since he was a car salesman he didn't correct her I can only assume since he presented himself as the sales manager at Plano Kia he must have thought it was his right. So I will have to find another barbershop that will treat people fairly by their own rules. If it ain't first come, first served, then don't post it in your shop. read more

Ohki is my favorite barber ever! I would drive into the city for Floyd's 99 until I came across Lad barbershop. Ohki was so friendly and does magic with my hair. She's a master with thinning my hair. I've got cowlicks if not handled properly make my hair stick up rather than lay flat. Great place but be sure to have cash. They don't accept cards. read more

Lads is your typical old fashion barber shop. The barbers are friendly and have their own clients but walk ins are always welcome. Fran probably has the most regulars. read more

Most of the ladies give a decent haircut. The wait times however are way too long- nearly an hour. The place is rarely fully staffed except on Saturday. Have had to walk out 3x because only 3 or 4 barbers were on duty ad i simply could wait an hour. Place could use a good cleaning too. read more
