It's unfortunate to see many misinformed reviews on here about Dr. Pilar. Honestly, his custom…read moreorthodic is the only one I have ever had that worked to prevent my grinding and clenching my teeth at night. Most other TMJ tools and doctors give you something that is a full-mouth or a back-tooth guard even, and that defeats the purpose of alleviating pressure on the back teeth. This orthodic saved my life in terms of relieving my neck and back pain. If you are grinding and clenching your teeth at night and have random pain in your jaw and have tinitis and all kinds of other issues with unconsciously clenching your teeth while you're focusing or working out or dancing or sleeping, this is the only long-term easy, medication free solution I have found. Dr. Pilar may seem strange to the everyday patient because the United States is so conditioned to impersonal, ignorant doctors who are all just in it for the money. He handles all calls personally because he doesn't wish to waste people's time and I appreciate that. I think having an expert who has created every single orthodic on his own help you with your pain issues is worth every penny. I wore mine for 5-6 years before I lost it (very sad) and had to replace it. He is also the only person I could find who actually makes these custom for each individual so that the mold fits perfectly in your mouth. I came all the way from brooklyn for the appointment. Anyway - he's great. Very sweet. Highly recommended, and if you're a grouch who doesn't appreciate listening to a few stories while you're in the chair then I can't help you and neither can Dr. Pilar.

I was getting regular pain in my jaw and headaches, and I was running out of options. Immediately Dr. Pilar was able to diagnose the problem, and custom made an orthotic device which worked quite effectively. Since then, I have not had any more problems with my jaw, and the pain has never returned. I would recommend him without hesitation.

If there is one review you should read about Dr. Rosenfeld, then this is it! Let's start from the…read morebeginning. He was recommended to me as a great dentist, which unfortunately I won't be able to confirm do to the shady manner in which my first appointments and respective charges were handled. I went in for a consultation that was free of charge but he did refer me to a dentist named Pavone as he said he, himself was not so experienced to do implants. He said I should see him after I see Pavone so we can make a plan as to how we're going to move forward. This Pavone character charged me $150 just to glance at my teeth; I did already have my X-rays and panorex, so his work was already cut out for him, as was Dr. Rosenfeld's. I was changing dentists and had all that they needed to see to give me a rate. Then it was time for me to go to Dr. Rosenfeld for my second visit, after seeing Pavone, to put together a plan as to how they were going to work on my dental implants. I informed him that I didn't wish to have Pavone work on my teeth because I assumed that if ten minutes of his time cost $150, then I would have to spend astronomical figures on the total procedure. While I'm in his office the hygienist walks in and measures my gums. I find out after the fact that this was the detailed extensive oral evaluation, something I did not ask for or need since it had just recently been done by my previous dentist. Most importantly, I had presented him with this information as well; so thinking back, it was totally ludicrous for him to do this and obviously a way to get me to pay for a visit which would have otherwise cost nothing. This took 10 minutes total and on my way out he insisted I did not owe anything for the visit with him. At the front desk, however, I was suddenly told that I owe $186... And that was apparently for the hygienist.. Needless to say, we did not spend a minute planning my implant situation. In fact, I was annoyed that all he did do was talk about another dentist he wanted to send me to for yet another consultation. In retrospect I'm convinced once again that since at the beginning of my visit I had told Rosenfeld that I didn't want to see Pavon, he decided to use that appointment to make some money from me by doing something I did not need!!! I decided to address this with him at some point in the future but while I even had a chance to think about what had happened, ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? I receive a bill from him, in the mail, for an amount of $138. I personally went to his office today to kindly request an explanation.. He didn't have one and I couldn't believe my ears when he said "how much do you wanna pay?" in a very condescending tone. I have zero tolerance for this kind of unprofessionalism and went on to politely inquire as to where this charge was coming from. He said he'll dismiss the $138. I did not get to even address the $186 for the gum measurements, that I did not need, because of the unpleasant manner in which I was dealt with today. How sad that your money can be taken from you in broad daylight and be justified by the fact that you are in a dentist's office. The total of $336 I spent because of Dr. Rosenfeld did not benefit me in any way and least of all gave me an idea for the kind of work he can do on my teeth!!!

However, I needed to go to an oral surgeon to do so. I was desperate, a lot of places did not have availability until March/April of next year. I called Dr. Simpson's office on December 5th and the soonest I could get was January 19th. I happily took it. They even offered to put me on an "ASAP" list in case there are any cancellations. Lo and behold, I get a call December 8th saying there was a cancellation for Monday, December 11th. I took it immediately. My appointment was at 1:45. After I filled out my paper work, they had in me in the chair by 2:08. Dr. Simpson and his staff made me feel SO comforted. Like many others, I get anxious about dentistry. Dr. Simpson has a very kind demeanor. He was thorough with his consultation and made it feel personal, not just an in and out situation. He even offered me the option of getting the extraction done on the spot!! They did not make me feel guilty or shamed for the state of my teeth. They didn't rush me to make brash choices. They thoroughly explained everything to me. They even gave me something to squeeze and hold as the procedure occurred. I was out by 3:30pm. They gave me extra gauze and paper work. I was at the pharmacy and Dr. Simpson did a follow up call! Seeing how I was feeling and if I had any concerns. I am very happy with the service I received and I cannot praise the staff enough! I'll always recommend them. And the cost? $182 vs $3,000. Thank you, Dr. Simpson. You really saved me.

‼AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS ‼…read more IGNORE the 4.7 star rating this surgeon has on google. I genuinely do not know how he has received this rating. I will be warning EVERYONE to STAY FAR AWAY from this place. I saw Dr. Brian Simpson due to excruciating wisdom tooth pain that was keeping me up at night for over a week. If I was not so desperate and tired I would have walked out of the office mid-procedure. First of all, I waited an hour after my appointment time before being seen at all. For whatever reason, during the consultation, Dr. Simpson spoke to me extremely condescendingly, as though I was a child. While I understand he wanted to clearly explain the procedure and risks to me, it got genuinely offensive. When it came time to discuss anesthesia options, I indicated I was not comfortable with general anesthesia and would stick with local. This seemed to really upset him as he immediately kicked me out of the room and I proceeded to wait another 1.5 hours before being brought back in. I assume he was upset that my decision meant my insurance would not pay $2,000 extra for the general anesthesia. During the entirety of the procedure, I felt genuinely violated and disrespected. Dr. Simpson was unnecessarily rough and forceful, and I could tell he was upset with the way he was angrily huffing in my face. It felt like psychological torture. He was even rude to his own assistants, and it was obvious he was rushing the surgery. He cracked my tooth in 6 places and got even angrier and more frustrated. Not a single time did him nor any of his assistants check on me or say anything to me throughout the entire procedure. I jumped up and gasped in pain at one point and no one said anything at all to me and pretended nothing occurred. In fact, one of them in particular was extremely rude to me even after. I was in such shock I could barely respond. I was supposed to have my 3 other wisdom teeth done here. Dr. Simpson can rest assured I will NOT be returning to his office for any work. I will do my best to make sure everyone I know goes to a different surgeon.

It was Saturday about 11am when I was finally able to find an Oral Surgeon who was not only open, but was willing wait for me to drive the hour long trip to her office. Which is a big deal when you consider they closed at noon and that's about when I would be arriving. When I walked into the office I was greeted by a staff wearing smiles like they'd just hit the Powerball. They got me in, sat me down and made me feel like a long lost brother who had just come home. That's when The Heroine of the story walked in. Yup it was Dr. Pamela Alberto an actual Oral Surgeon, and she was open for business, Baby. (meaning she was ready to deal with that foul tooth.) I've been to dentists before, but I have never had an experience like Dr. Alberto. She was amazing. Even the numbing shots she put into my gums were painless. When she went to work she knew exactly what she was doing. There was no hesitation, no guessing. Bada Bing Bada Boom Betty Boop and the tooth was out. And let me tell ya, my teeth don't come out easy. I've had regular Dentists give up. It's Dr. Pamela Alberto and her excellent staff for this man from now on. I don't care if I have to drive across the Country to get to her. Joseph R.
