This is no longer a shopping center. This is now more of a medical park complex. Medical and…read moreoffice space far outnumber any retail here. What retail remains is not of the outlet variety (minus one store). What you will find here: a shopping atmosphere with decent walkways and mall music. What you won't find here: mall stores. The only other stores I noticed here were of the thrift type. I'm not complaining there as I have a soft spot for cool stuff that is cheap. This use to be a place to go and stock up on clothing, shoes, etc. Now it's just kind of a laughing stock. I even asked a lady at a store located in town if this place is still open. Her replied, after she gave a chuckle, "Oh yeah, the place is open, but it's useless to go up there."

I was just walking around this town when I decided to see what was inside the one building. Upon entering I stumbled into here, a quaint little bookshop. It's so odd to still be able to stumble into a place like this in a small town downtown area. It's actually quite welcoming too. I wasn't looking for anything in particular and started browsing. I was startled a bit when I heard the quiet voice ask me if I needed any help. I was startled because it came from the sweetest, little, old lady I have ever met. Did I mention she was little, she was in the store, but I wasn't able to see her until she was near me. After I got my bearings again, I asked her if they had any good bedtime story books that a three year old would enjoy. You should have seen her go! She knew every single book that might fill this request. I ended up buying two that she suggested. I thank her for the help and I am quite sure that my niece is very, very happy. Hairy Maclary is now one of her favorite books before bed.

It's not a mall in the sense that there are chain stores located within, but it's a mall when you consider that there are local stores. This place spans anywhere from a half a block to a block. With this building it includes, I believe, the building next to it and possibly the one next to that. It's a nice little mix of small town business. From what I gathered, and no there is no directory, they have a banquet type room to hold parties (the day I was there they were about to hold a painting party), a book store, a handmade craft store, vitamin shop and a cafe. The floors above seem to hold offices for businesses and medical needs. It's quaint and unique, that is for sure.

Walking in, the feel of the creaky wooden floors and old display tables and fixtures, brought me back to the time when I went shopping for new clothing with my grandmother. This nostalgia is certainly part of the experience. Woolrich is a major label here. The focus is on outdoor life, with everything from boots to hats and everything in between. The woman helping us seemed to be a long term worker, or even part of ownership. She knew where everything was, what was on sale, and how to "sell." We were looking for clothing to deal with the unexpected cool weather for which we weren't prepared. Good fortune smiled, as they were having a sale on long sleeve cotton fleece zip ups. There are 2 large mirrors around the shop that have been reflecting images for decades and seemed to beautify the person standing before them. The black fleece looked a perfect fit, and with the discount, $25 seemed like a decent deal. While there, I also found a heavy wale corduroy shirt with button flap breast pockets that fit well. We put it in the bag. Martin's is not the cheapest outfitter, but the quality of the experience certainly equaled the quality of the merchandise, making it all worthwhile.

The store was fairly big but it felt as if it wasn't stocked appropriately. What was available in here wasn't anything I was looking for. I browsed through the selection but was easily disappointed. Taking up space where the former Save-a-Lot once stood they have done an amazing job at making this space feel new. Fresh paint on the outside, bright lights on the inside. Your typical new Marshalls that you can come across. There is one glaring difference compared to the other locations. The size. This one, when compared to others, is much smaller. However, they didn't attempt to jam so much merchandise in here that it was overwhelming. They got the right amount of items and stocked the store accordingly. Departments were well labeled and you could navigate the store easily. I came in here in hopes of grabbing a pet item, kind of like a hail mary type of thing. They did have plenty of pet items, but not exactly what I was looking for.
