I told the cashier, when she asked me If I found everything all right, that there were no 29 inseam dress pants in my size. So, I spent 20 minutes shopping for new jeans. They were slightly expensive, but I figured that 20% off is a good deal. When I got to the cashier, she said that the discount didn't apply to my jeans. She said it was in the very, very tiny small print. So, I bought the slightly overpriced jeans anyway. But, I am not going back for anything else. BEWARE.

I've been to this U.O. a few times over the years; I still remember buying a pair of spiral-shaped studded earrings from here back in 2001 when I was in the Burlington area touring NECI before my senior year of high school. (Ahhh, memories of when I wanted to go to culinary school...now I just EAT the food. Ha!) This past weekend, I was in town for an aunt's wedding, and after breakfast, I strolled in here with my parents as we took in the wonderful cacophony along Church Street. I didn't intend to buy anything, but their second level sales section was so amazingly organized, I left with a black tunic and a grey long-sleeved jumper. Oops! (Actually, sorry, not sorry.) The staff was so wonderful and cheery, definitely a switch up from many NYC U.O. staffers. I know I have a million of these at my doorstep. (Well, perhaps six in Manhattan.) Still, whenever I come to Burlington, I'm still compelled to stop in, because why not?

The store has a limited number of popular products like Flannel shirts, t-shirts, pants, jackets, and blankets. There's no fitting room at this store, which is a bummer. I still bought a flannel shirt, XS size. It was $89, prices are on higher end, but understandable for the quality of the product. The associate was very helpful with the checkout. He signed me up for a rewards account. I received a 10% discount coupon in my email towards my next purchase. I took the shirt back to hotel and tried it out. The XS fitted perfectly as I had anticipated. Happy to have purchased one of Vermont's iconic product.

Not such a big fan of their tops which I feel are less well made. I try not to shop here very often as it's not inexpensive, but depending on what you purchase, the quality can be very good. They do seem to stand behind the quality of their garments and they offer free hemming of any trousers you buy there, which is a really nice perk. It's nice how they incorporate local fitness studios into store events, etc. I often joke with friends that the dressing room lighting and mirrors here are the worst in town. Nothing like changing into athletic gear and knowing for a fact that you look way worse in the store mirrors than you do in real life. Not exactly a good move when you're trying to sell active wear. I have some friends who refuse to use the dressing rooms just because the get depressed every time they've gone in them.
