I've never been to Torrid but knew they catered to a curvier woman. I figured it was worth a shot to see if plus fit my odd frame better than misses. I was surprised to learn that their sizes start at a size 10 - known here as a 00. While I know nothing about plus sizes I don't believe this is the norm so if shopping here inquire about their sizing or you'll be confused. I was pleasantly surprised by all the styles and trends. I didn't see anything frumpy. If I didn't know that this was a plus size store I wouldn't have know based on styles alone. I liked 80% of what they sold. Aside from trendy clothing they sold accessories, jewelry, shoes, and intimates. What I didn't like were their prices. While I'm the first to admit I don't pay retail, the prices here were much higher than even the average store. Jeans on average were $60 with some as high as $98. However they did have some clearance racks and a buy one get two free clearance offer that made it worth checking it out. Additionally they were having a buy one get one half off jean sale. After trying on a few jean styles I will say this brand understands how to fit a bigger body. I ended up splurging and buying two pairs of their jeans. The fit was phenomenal with about 2 inches of extra fabric at the mid rise to tuck in and smooth the belly bulge. The stretch of the denim allowed for extra allowance at the hips and a longer rise meant no camel toe. These small differences made a word of different in the look and fit. Every thick or curvy female should treat themselves to at least one pair of their jeans. Just by putting them on visually I lost about 10 pounds. They made a believer out of me! While I loved many of their shoes styles the smallest size I saw was a 9 with most being larger sizes going up to a 13. A quick search on Retail Me Not provided a few discount codes for online purchases. Unfortunately their registers only accept bar code discounts and not codes. The cashier was gracious enough to give me a discount that exceeded the bogo 50% offer so it does pay to ask! She also signed me up for emailed discounts. The staff went above and beyond in the customer service they provided. Moral of story: if you have problems finding nice fitting jeans, are thick and curvy, or even just a few pounds overweight don't discount this store. The fit is worth is the price!

Plus the largest selection of Melissa and Doug I've ever seen at one store. There's rows of baby equipment, strollers, toys, maternity.....hair accessories and on and on. I'm convinced if you can't find it here it doesn't exist! Not consignment but cash or credit buy outs. I was so excited to find this place albeit 2 hours from home that I called my daughter....she told me there's two locations closer to home in York. It's not worth it!!…read more I loved this place when it opened. It was fair priced for gently used clothing and gave a great rate for your clothes. The employees were polite and helpful. After the new owner took over a couple years ago, this place really went downhill. I was in today to look for some items and noticed a group of snow pants and bibs in the front. They didn't have much for older kids but a lot for younger ones. They only had 2 sets of pants that were above 4T. Luckily, it was a size I needed. There were multiple tags, one with a hand written "10-" on it. Even the brand new bibs (listed for $28) originally were reduced to no more than $20 so I thought this was great. Apparently, the other tag showed a $32.99 price which is what was rung up. The initial cashier agreed that the $10 should be honored, but the other employee said not to honor it. I asked for the manager who came over and said there was nothing she could do since the $32.99 was the price on their system. I disagreed and explained that they inspect each received item with a fine tooth comb so if they left an incorrect tag, that was their mistake. The manager again said there was nothing she could do and that the $10 tags wasn't "their tag or system." I said that I felt this was still their mistake and false advertising. After a few more minutes, she changed the price to $10 and checked me out. Again, this was after telling me twice that she was unable to do anything. This business obtains its inventory by paying pennies on the dollar for excellent condition items and then selling them for 5-10x the price. You are required to wait in store, sometimes for over an hour, while they pick through your items only to be told they could give you $20 or $30 credit. They will not give an itemization - just a flat amount. Then, when it comes to giving any kind of customer service to you as a purchasing customer, they turn a blind eye and "can't" do anything to hep.

But a bit of a flea market thrown in where you almost never know what's going to be in stock from day to day. Books, lawn furniture, living room sets, towels, winter boots and kitchenware. Most of it displayed on fixtures that don't match from aisle to aisle, or simply stacked on plywood that's supported by cinder blocks. The store isn't the place you go if you've got Asberger's. Many aisles are tight and at odd angles. But hey, it's very very cheap!
