I wanted to write a review, not only because I think they have a good operation, with a wide selection, and better prices than any other supplier I have dealt with. I wanted to thank them publicly for the outstanding customer service. In the past couple years using them I have had problems with 2 shipments out of the dozens I have made. Even though both times the problem lay in the carrier, after contacting Label Peelers either by phone, where a person answers to sort out the issue, or by email, they assumed responsibility and immediately provided me with a satisfactory solution. No passing the buck from them. One contact and done. I was surprised and very pleased that I did not have to deal with the carrier and file a claim. While Label Peelers doesn't have a fancy store, they blew me away with quality service and the best prices. The others were slow to ship and lacked personality. POORLY MANAGED , TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ordered several hundred dollars of STRAWBERRY & PEACH WINE BASE . It was listed as such on their web site . Upon receiving we found it WASN'T PEACH & STRAWBERRY WINE BASE BUT ACTUALLY GRAPE WINE BASE WITH " NATURAL FLAVORING & CORN SYRUP. This is in no way what we wanted , the site did not properly describe what this was . It is required, normal & standard practice to properly describe products. After 2 weeks of emails , slow responses they agreed to take the return but WE PAY EXPENSIVE RETURN SHIPPING COST ! in no way should we be made to pay for an issue that was in no way our fault or mistake. read more

And the sender "Label Peelers" reboxed the box with broken bottles and shipped it right back to me the very same day! What a company, that stands far behind their product. Label Peelers came highly recommended by my homebrew pro brother. He raved about brewing supplies being half the price you will find them anywhere else, and he was right! We made the trek out to Kent while visiting Cleveland over the holidays to get brewing supplies even though we'd have to transport them back down to Houston. My husband, the luckiest guy ever, received a kegerator for Christmas, so we were interested in kegging supplies and a new beer kit (because we aren't at expert homebrewing status yet). We purchased a refurbished keg, which seems to be very high quality, and a store made Zombie Dust clone kit. You can't get Zombie Dust anywhere in Houston, so we were excited to be able to bring it back. We just brewed this past Saturday, so I'm not sure how our beer will turn out, but we are very happy overall with our experience at Label Peelers. Before brewing, we had a question about the kit and even though the person on the phone was unable to answer it, he gave us the number of the creator of the kit to help out. I placed an online order with Label Peelers after finding them on a homebrew sale site. Their sale prices were absolutely INSANE! We're talking HALF what I could find anywhere else online, and I search far and wide. I quickly placed my order, and started getting my brewing supplies ready to rock. I promptly received my tracking number, and much to my delight, the package was going to arrive in a day. That's right, A DAY! Sadly, with cold weather, storms, and the nature of these products (ordered cider kits), one of the kits opened in the box, and shipping was delayed. I sent an email over to them, and gave them a call in the morning. They let me know that they were already on top of it, a new box had been packed, and was already on the way! I then received an email from Matt P that went into full detail as to what happened, what they did to fix it, and to apologize for the delay. True to his word, my package arrived the very next day, and everything was absolutely perfect! They even threw in a snazzy t shirt that I wore that very same day! I have casually done home brew for the last few years in California and have recently started scaling up the operation. I've been buying small batches of mostly bottles and some equipment to evaluate my preferred suppliers. Label peelers is at the very bottom of the list. I won't do business with them again, unless of course you like unreliable shipments and abysmal communication. I placed an order for 15 cases of 187ml bottles (mini champagne) and a few bags of crowns. Everything was listed as in stock and able to ship immediately. I was originally going to use them as wedding favors for my wedding which was 5 weeks away and place some hard cider and allow them to condition in the bottle. I called within an hour to adjust my order because I decided I only wanted to use the bottles for my wedding and nothing else. Someone answered and kindly reduced my order to 8 cases. Cool. I didn't get an email or confirmation of the adjustment when I checked my order so I called back the next morning because I didn't want all that glass to ship! It turns out the order wasn't adjusted. Rinse and repeat this process 4 times before I finally got an email after Tom started handling my order. Two weeks later I still haven't received the bottles, updates, nor do I have any ability to track the shipment. Awesome, right? I call and find out they don't have any bottles in stock but they will have them tomorrow. I would have appreciated an update sooner, but ok, fine. It's also around this time I finally get refunded from the first order adjustment, only because I brought it up. Fast forward 2 more weeks and still no bottles. It's exactly 8 days before my wedding, and a month since my initial order. I call and get the exact same story. Tom tells me their deliveries are being promised but a truck breaks down, they don't get their bottles, and there's a national shortage of this bottle type. He's rude, and says the shipment cannot be rushed and there's no way I'll receive the bottles in 5 days (I need them several days before the wedding in order to condition.) He allows me to cancel the order and I ordered with another company and received the bottles in 4 days(wedding saved!.) That's quite the national shortage! It took another 3 weeks(this week)and weekly phone calls before I actually received my refund. This isn't poor customer service, it's non-existent customer service. Summary: Poor communication, deceptive online listings, unreliable, unorganized, poor customer service. read more

I have been a customer at Label Peelers since they were located in Tallmadge. They have now moved to their 3rd location in Ravenna as they continue to grow. Since I live about 35 minutes away, I avoid shipping costs and use the pickup option. Great prices and I have never had an issue with any of my orders and there have been many. If you are lucky enough to visit the store when Matt is there, he can answer most of your questions about wine making. If you subscribe to their emails, they are always having great sales. I placed an order for a packet of yeast 3 weeks ago. I received an update that same day saying it was awaiting shipment. I hadn't heard anything from them since, so I emailed them today asking what was up. I promptly got two emails saying my order has just shipped. Did they forget or something? The prices are good but if the items never arrive its hardly worth it! don't bother shopping online from this company. update: I got an email today admitting my order had been lost in the shuffle and saying they were including a complimentary extra yeast packet. We are NEW to the world of homebrewing and do not have the know how YET. Our Neighbor and good friend recommended we check this place out! So I started filling my online basket up... but felt I was missing something so I gave up and called. I had the pleasure to talk to Dale who took the time to explain what I needed to get started. I emailed Label Peelers and got a reply at 1am (within 4 hours) from Matt telling me my order should be ready the next night (which is was) and that I bought one of his favorite kits (Simcoe West Coast IPA)- Which made me feel great about my order. I've received nothing but excellent communication, perfect order fulfillment, and super fast shipping (I ordered Thursday and received on Saturday) I've called them a couple times and have received nothing but polite, knowledgeable people. I went there this past Saturday for a brewing class and tasting and was pleasantly surprised. We tasted 20 different home brews and go the chance to see the difference between their own Brewing Kits and Brewers Best kits. It was wonderful. The staff was very knowledgeable, and friendly. The owner was the same and shows what excellent customer service should look and feel like. They have prices below the other places I have purchased supplies from and are very well stocked. I found these guys by accident on facebook...ordered the Christmas Ale kit which my daughter who lives in Kent picked up for me. I brewed the Christmas Ale, and let me tell you, it's fantastic! Packs a punch and I think it's better than the Great Lakes version. I wish this place was closer to where I live, I'd be a regular for sure! I found an excellent price for what I thought was malt extract and purchased a 50lb bag. Once the order was finished I realized I had ordered a bag of malt. I emailed Label Peelers through through their contact form to ask that the order be canceled. It was canceled and refunded within hours. Been doing business with them for a couple years without a problem then I placed an order for a wine kit back in September 2020. I received an email stating that they were out of stock and would be shipping once they got it in. Fast forward to January 2021 I contacted them again and they said it would be shipping in a couple weeks. Now being February 2020 I never received the order so I contacted them yet again only to be told on the phone that the order was shipped. When I asked about the address where it was sent they told me a different address than the one I normally use with them. I told them that was the wrong address and it had never changed since my previous orders. The customer service person I spoke to became immediately defensive and stated the error was mine and there was nothing they could do for me. After the conversation I emailed the company stating I was unhappy with how I was treated and was still trying to seek some sort of solution. Their response stated again the error was mine and they could maybe help me if I, and I quote, "became upfront about my dishonesty" regarding the error in shipping address. Label Peelers is so cheap that I brew more than I intend to. They have grown quickly and are now back in Kent. They know me by name, even though I only go in every once in a while to pick up an order. I always order online and choose the pick-up option, so I don't pay shipping. I can now make 5 gallons of beer for less than $20 total because I buy malt and hops in bulk (on sale) and inexpensive yeast. I also get their grape juice from Chile in the spring for very little money. It's the discount brewer's paradise. read more

Good product selection, low prices, super fast shipping. Their supplies are nearly 50% cheaper than at my last LHBS in Florida, so even with $10 shipping the price is right. However, these guys seem to be a little sloppy on order processing. I was overcharged for my first purchase, another contained the wrong item, and on my most recent some sugar I'd bought for a cider was missing completely. They've been friendly and helpful in all three of these instances, but it would have been awesome not to have to deal with the inconvenience in the first place, hence four stars and not five. read more

I have been buying my wine making supplies here for several years. You simply cannot beat their selection, prices. shipping and customer service at any other homebrew shop. You pay for shipping, yes, but the total cost is still far below the "free shipping" shops. And the shipping is at warp speed. Matt, the owner, provides the most conscientious customer service I've run into anywhere. The only thing better than ordering online from Labelpeelers is to live close enough to the store to be able to walk in and pick up your supplies, kits and equipment in person. I used to order from label peelers all the time . I have several home brew sites and just started one on YouTube . I have promoted them around every corner . But I ordered malt syrup from them and got the wrong one . I ordered a hydrometer from them and the bottom of the tube was busted out.( They did make that right tho) and now I ordered a gallon jug an airlock and a 38mm cap with a hole for the airlock. They sent everything but the cap. I use slower shipping option because it's expensive to order faster shipping . And it takes every bit of 9 business days to get anything from them . Which is understandable. But when you get delivery notification and your package ain't really there and you stay home to make sure you get your package then they change the date again it's really frustrating. I've got stuff from china off eBay quicker and easier . I can't get ahold of anyone to see if they will send me my cap . Even if they do . I'm still 9 days behind before I can use anything else they've sent me From now on I'm ordering from eBay . Their shipping cost And service are ridiculous. I have been a faithful Labelpeelers.com customer for the last 2 years and have purchased everything from them for beer, wine, and cider making. On my most recent order, I ordered several 1 ounce packets of various hops and a 1 pound package of Citra for a Tropical IPA. I already had the liquid yeast on hand and as soon as I saw the tracking info that said "On Vehicle, Out for Delivery" I made my yeast starter. After making my yeast starter and then getting the FedEx package, I realized their mistake in only shipping a 1 ounce bag instead of a 1 pound bag of Citra. I immediately called to see what options we had to get the correct order here in time for my brew day (48 hours after making my yeast starter). This was unfortunately on a Saturday and I was told by the person I spoke to at Labelpeelers.com that he couldn't get anything to me until Wednesday. Normally, I would accept the mistake as human error and chalk it up to these kinds of things happen, but his demeanor on the phone and lack of sympathy and effort to amend the mistake was enough for me to say that I will never be a Labelpeelers.com customer again.
