Horrible experience!! Had an appointment for my 1-year old daughter here since it said they do pediatric labs. Made an appointment for 12:45. They didn't call us until closer to 1, and even when they did call us we had to wait another 15 minutes standing in a hallway (even with my wife and I having a 1-year old that we had to hold), so wasn't actually seen until 30 minutes after the appointment time, and during this hallway waiting time multiple people who arrived after us were seen before us. When we were finally called in the room to take blood, they took blood from my daughter's arm rather than using a finger or foot prick which is the recommended method for pediatric collections for children this young. If they advertise that they do pediatric collections, this should be the standard procedure for children her age, but since they insisted that they can only draw blood through the arm, my 1-year old was obviously screaming, crying and squirming. The assistant kept telling her to "stop crying" and "sit still" in an annoyed tone. She's literally only 1 years old! Do you honestly think she knows what that means?? Never going to this location again, and if you have to bring your child for bloodwork I suggest you avoid this location at all costs! read more

I got exceptional service here on Tues. 2/3. I had 4 prescriptions from 3 different doctors/specialties that were ~30 tests, a urine sample, and 16 tubes of blood. Unfortunately Lab Corp's set up to book appointments doesn't take this into account and do my appt was 2 hrs, not 15 min. This put strain on not only the wonderful person who provided my care and took the time to enter all of the tests in right but also her other colleague, and all the other patients there. I felt terrible. A man and a woman who were waiting a long time were pounding on the door and once the person helping me opened the door, they berated her for more than 5 min, yet she never lost her cool. Honestly first time going to this location and the customer service was horrible. I am not the type to make a bad review but the tech her self was very aggressive while taking my blood and left bruises on my arm( which never happens). A patient opened the current of my room and started talking to the tech and the tech didnt tell her anything. She let the other patient invade my privacy while getting my labs Without saying a thing like if thats okay. I told the front desk, they didn't seem to care what so ever. also very unorganized, the employees make it seem like a bother when asking a question. read more

Seeing mixed reviews here is kind of surprising. Probably the management has taken the review feedbacks seriously and have improved with time. Either getting an online appointment or a walk-in, getting your blood work done here can be very seamless. We made a walk-in appointment here through one of the self checkout kiosks at the location and were called in immediately. The staff check in got over quickly and were directed to provide our blood work. We got the blood drawn quickly without any pain and were out within a short time. We received the blood results the very next day too. Parking here is breeze and plenty. read more

Everyone knows getting lab work isn't on the daily list of fun, but I honestly believe the staff at this location make it their daily business to make this process a little taste of hell on Earth. Customer service is lacking especially with the front desk staff members. There is a new an "express check-in" using iPads and instead of speaking to customers and making them aware of this new process, the rocket scientists at the front desk expect you to look at this sign in the sign in log and find it for yourself. Not intuitive at all since 5 people walked in and none of us read this sign. When I did, I gave feedback that they should use spell check prior to laminating a directional sign! read more

Maddox got his blood work drawn for the very first time at Labcorp on Veronica avenue and look at what they did to his arm. I was hugging Maddox in a Mama bear hug so he wouldn't move while another phlebotomist held his arm down so it wouldn't move so the main phlebotomist could take his blood. However, I didn't realize they were digging their nails on his arm as they were holding him down BUT he was NOT moving. BEWARE DO NOT TAKE your kids here to get blood work done. I will NEVER take my son here again. The phlebotomist even had the nerve to prick him twice because he kept moving the needle in and out of the vein even when I asked him nicely to please take it out since he wasn't getting any blood return. I have been going to this location for the last five years and every time the service was very good except today. The person who took my sample was Irene (or similar name). she was more interested in her phone than taking the blood sample. when I went in and sat at the chair she took more than a minute to check her phone before attending to me. Even while she was labeling the tubes, she was checking her phone than paying attention to her job. She did not verify my name and DOB which is a violation of their protocol. I am really disappointed about the service person and the lousy service that was provided. Rest of the staff at the location was very good. it was only Irene that made the whole place look pretty bad. I reported this to Monali (609-255-9016), the site manager. read more

I have managed Customer Service my entire career so I know how difficult it is sometimes to Meet Customer Expectations, let alone Exceed Expectations... yet...EXCEED they did! I was quite late for an appointment made online. Although Reception was already closed for the day, I was able to connect with a technician and show a copy of my computerized appointment thru the window. While reluctant at first, several staff members stepped up to help me. They were patient during a lengthy sign-in process. They were patient during a botched electronic script search. They were patient in alleviating my worry as I am what is referred to as a 'hard stick'. I highly recommend LabCorp Somerset for any and all Lab needs. I know there are a lot of negative reviews here, but my experience was excellent! First, I registered on my home computer, so I did not have to register there. I didn't have much of a wait time, before I was admitted. Then, Victor Da Silva took my blood. He was so warm and friendly! I wasn't nervous, since I've had this done many other times in other places. However, if I were, he would have calmed me immediately. I was out of there quickly. Excellent experience! After not fasting long enough before his appointment yesterday, I brought my son back to Labcorp this morning. Saturdays are very busy but there was lots of staff on and things moved quickly. We arrived before opening, waited in line outside, and were seen within minutes of checking in. This location is extremely busy and I believe that the team tries their best to follow the process. Very efficient. The gentleman (forgot his name) was so nice. I forgot my ID and he made sure to politely deny it, while sweetly adding to quickly go back home and get my passport. Absolute horrendous system. Had a 12:15 appointment did not get seen until well after 1 pm. Said they were running "a little behind". If a little behind is an hour long wait I'm scared to see what very behind would be. Get your tests done elsewhere and DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I went on a Saturday which is always the most crowded. Not sure what all the terrible reviews r about but as long as you go in with normal expectations (ie, it will be crowded and you might have to wait), I think all was fine. It was clean. There were places to sit. The electronic check in was quick and convenient. Stood on line for a few mins while waiting for my draw but then sat as I got closer. Phlebotomist was good. Have been to LabCorp closer to where I live but this one is could be rated the worst, specifically by the unfriendly guy who drew the blood. Fist off he is complaining he cant get the vein. Mind you prior to this I had my blood drawn at least three times in the last month and none of them had issues. So he goes around looking for the vein after he has inserted the needle and he must have damaged the vein as next day I have a bloodied and bruised hand with blood clots. Medical profession is a noble one but hiring such incompetent & unprofessional people drawing blood is a disgrace. read more

My experience was terrible. I had a scheduled appt at 1:45 and they didn't take me until 1:55 because they were calling people before me who didn't have an appt. also they do not clean the arm rests between patients and when I questioned them, they said they did it after every 5th person and I should have requested the cleaning. Also person taking blood had to use both arms to get enough blood. I have had blood taken many times and always had enough from one arm. Also test was taken 2 weeks ago and dr still hadn't gotten results. My husband went to Quest and got results in 2 days. I am trying to call them and nobody answers phone read more

I was reading all the reviews and really didn't get it. I had an 8:15 appointment. I got there at 8:10,...signed in,...Registered at 8.15,..had blood drawn by 8:20,...was out of there by 8:25! Went in with an appointment and sat for 15 minutes. The tall guy who got the "new car he bragged about" said to me in a very nasty and condescending voice, "I don't do blood".. He could have been nice, but NO! All I said was I have an appointment. Then why are you even there singing to the music like a freak? Labcorp really needs to revamp that whole place. I haven't run into big waiting times and generally they're okay when it comes to the tests. But they don't know how to fax results to my doctor!! They received the results 1 day after my blood test but they kept my doctor and I waiting for a week until I called their corporate office and they sent the fax. They're lucky that I didn't have an urgent medical condition. I plan to address this with them very soon. But it appears that you have to call the corporate office in order to ensure that the doctor gets results. Other Labcorp locations may be more efficient but not this one. Yet they're sure to remind you that you have an $8 balance and won't accept cash before they can proceed with tests. read more

The gal who was assigned to draw my blood was unable to draw blood. She tried TWICE in each arm and had to request assistance from some one else. That other person had NO problem drawing blood. Also, there was a hassle the following day dropping off a urine specimen and following instructions from the Somerset staff. Geeez. Let me add it was my FIRST ever visit to that facility. Going to this labcorp felt very similar to my experience of going to a crowded DMV in NYC. My husband and I took our one year old there for blood work because we were told there would be a pediatric phlebotomist there. I initially called to make an appointment and they told me I can just come in. I thought maybe they weren't too busy since appointments were not necessary. They open at 7 and we got there around 8am. It was packed and literally there was nowhere to sit. We had to wait about an hour before we actually saw a phlebotomist and when I asked for the pediatric phlebotomist, the receptionist told me everyone who works there does children. I thought that was weird since I was told there was a specific person who does infants and children. The first phlebotomist couldn't locate my baby's vein so she called an older gentleman in who proceeded to stick the needle into my child's right arm without even finding a vein. Then he proceeded to FISH around for his vein for what felt like almost five minutes while I'm holding my son down and he is screaming and sweating his head off. So then a third phlebotomist comes in and just goes on and on about how my son's veins are too skinny and it's very hard to find but proceeds to try to collect blood from a very skinny one she found on the left arm. After fishing around she locates it but the vein is so skinny she is only able to fill about 1 and 1/8 of the two test tubes. Meanwhile my son is getting more and more worked up and continues to scream and get traumatized from this whole ordeal. If you're looking to get your child's especially your one year old's blood work done, do not go to this place because none of the phlebotomist really knew how to draw blood from such a tiny person and they showed no sympathy or care to the screaming and crying baby. I wish I never ever went here in the first place. The highlight of all this is that they said if the lab rejects the blood samples because one of them is too little, I will have to return. No thank you. I will be going to a more experienced lab who actually can work with babies! read more

Never have I ever been so humiliated and upset with a service with a lab technician. I have terrible anxiety for which I seek professional help. A major part of my anxiety is with the area in the inside of my elbow. I will scream and hyperventilate if anyone touches it. Thus, getting blood work is difficult for me and it normally takes me a few moments of deep breaths and talking with the professional to calm down enough to get the blood drawn. There was absolutely no patience during my visit. My anxiety was worse due to my empty stomach for the test, and, even before I sat in the seat, I was on the verge of passing out. I taking my deep breaths by the time the lady taking care of me had thought she had had enough. She called over a male technician who looked at me and went, in a very aggressive manner, "What is going on? How old are you? This is unbelievable." He then proceeded to forcefully hold my arm down and refuse any attempt of me asking for a moment because at that point my anxiety had spiked again. I had said (mind you, I wasn't yelling) through my hyperventilation that "I'm having an anxiety attack, can I have a moment?" The man just looked at me in anger and refused my request. When it was done, I was balling out of fear, humiliation, and the inability to breathe. He once again commented on my state, asking me about my age and saying that this was unbelievable. I was shaking and crying for another hour after the visit. I want to say, yes, when it comes to blood tests, I am a difficult patient. However, this is the first time in my life that I was treated with aggression. Before, technicians would bring another professional in to talk me through the process and the breathing. Not to hold my arm down and tell me to "grow up". What was done at this clinic was unprofessional and unethical. It was insulting and hurtful. An anxiety attack is a serious manner that doesn't ever have to be handled with aggression. I will never return to this clinic, and to anyone reading this, if blood tests make you even the slightest bit uncomfortable, I wouldn't suggest it either. read more

My 13 month old daughter had an early morning appointment so the wait was close to nothing, however the male phlebotomist, an older man, was absolutely the worse ! I will never come here again. I myself am certified as a phlebotomist and i get children are hard but if you cant find it then dont just fish around in my daughter's arm !! You are never supposed to do that regardless !
