Went here after going to the same doctor who advised me to come here to get blood work done. The front desk asked me like they did before if I have an appointment and I replied no, since they said for me just come here. And again the front desk person worked alone, so he also did the blood work. It was a bit of wait, since 3 people were already waiting before I arrived. When it was my turn, I notified him he can choose which arm, but warned him I am not veiny. I want to say this dude was the best blood taker I ever worked with and he's so good that I asked for his name. Jay seriously is the most talented person. I have no phobia with needles, but my fear is always new people taking my blood. You have to be super skilled to take it because again, hard to obtain my blood and there has been times when people jabbed me 5x in one session to get my blood. Jay got it and I didn't feel a thing like not even a pinch and he didn't leave me badly bruised. Wanted to write this review to highlight Jay. When I called their billing department they said they have submitted the claim to my insurance and they still did not get paid. I advised them to call my insurance and ask for the payment. The ladies working at the front desk are super unprofessional. We had scheduled an appointment for this visit but they had forgot to put it in the system last time and we ended up waiting for 2 hours today. Once we arrived we told them we had a scheduled appointment and the lady screamed at us to put our name down and to sit down and wait. This lady named Jenny, short hair and mismatched eyes, would give the wrong information to us and yelling at us to not bother her when we went to ask her a question about scheduling a follow up appointment. She was standing around laughing with her coworkers and when we went up to her she was like "Can't you see I'm working right now?! Wait a minute!" Never had seen such an unprofessional worker, especially at a doctor's office. The Labcorp locations page listing says this location is open Saturdays until noon, but I was unable to book an appointment online, and both times I called the location they put me on hold and then hung up. Not good signs. Lo and behold, I arrived on Saturday at 11:15am and the door was locked. There was another patient in the same boat, trying to get in. We were both so frustrated. I'll be going to the Financial District location or another lab, such as Quest Diagnostics, from now on. It's labcorp- not exactly sure what people's expectations are given how labwork places all have the same customer service, wait, issues. I've never had a problem with this particular labcorp; I usually do walk-in (because I never know when I will have fasted and appointments ahead of time are somewhat meaningless anyway) and register on one of the 2 kiosks they have, and am usually called within 10-15 minutes and am in and out in a breeze. Never had an issue with the skill of the phlebotomist, and the best part is that lab results are usually in my inbox less than 24 hrs later; for this particular routine bloodwork, i had mine done at 12:40p on a Tuesday and results were in my inbox by 732a. There really isn't much to complain about. Understaffing abounds everywhere, and attitudes of staff might be snappy here and there at all lab places, but at the end of the day, they're not paid enough to offer concierge-level smiles and warmth that people expect. read more

I had my blood drawn at Labcorp three days ago on Centre Street and I knew from the moment the needle hit my arm that something was wrong. I am left with a bruised and bloodied arm three days later. This is not right and I see that I am not the first person to have experienced this. Unacceptable. The woman who drew my blood was on a personal cell phone call twice while doing my paperwork, then before drawing my blood went on and on about how most phlebotomists do not last at LabCorp but that she was a glowing exception. That's when she proceeded to stab me in my arm extremely carelessly and painfully. The photo above is the result of her "excellent" and "experienced" work. Judging from other similar comments about this very same woman, she is UNFIT to be working at Labcorp. Labcorp-are you listening? I doubt it. But I'll never be back and I will recommend everyone I know stay away from you business. Since this woman is still clearly employed by you after numerous complaints, something is terrible wrong. I've been here twice and had bad experiences both times. I would not recommend this office unless you have to have your blood drawn here. My first experience involved a young woman working there. She was probably in her mid 20's. I got there 10 minutes before they were about to close and when I asked the woman if I could still have my blood taken, she said angrily, "yes but come in earlier next time." I stayed silent because I was not expecting that kind of reaction and wasn't sure if anything I said after would anger her more. It took her a couple of minutes to go over my paperwork before she told me to go into a room. Soon after I got into the room, the same woman from the front desk walked up to me and began to set up her equipment for my blood draw. Then I realized she was the only one in the office. I made sure I talked to her as little as possible because she was obviously in a bad mood and I did not want to risk her poking me in the wrong place. After the blood draw, I left as fast as I could. The second time I went there, there was a guy in a dark colored shirt at the front desk and an older woman in a lab coat sitting behind him chatting on her cell phone loudly. There were no other people in the office. The guy took a while to do my paperwork so I had to listen to the older woman speak obnoxiously in Chinese for 10 minutes. It wasn't even the good kind of Chinese. My ears really hurt. Finally, he calls me over and tells me to go into a room. When I got into the room, I really hoped the lady was on her lunch break and not the one drawing my blood. After a few minutes, I see a flash of white moving near the doorway. Ugh. Fine. So she's gonna draw my blood. I take a deep breath and smile the fakest smile I could. I forgot to mention that a week before I came here, I had my blood drawn from a medical assistant somewhere else and got a bruise on my left arm after. So now, while the woman in the lab coat is setting up for my blood draw, she also checks to see which arm she's going to draw from. She looks at my left arm and comments on the bruise and says that the best place to have bloodwork done is in a lab because phlebotomists are trained to draw blood. Then she goes on a rant for 3 minutes about how the person who did my blood the week before didn't know what she was doing and said that people working in doctor's offices, including doctors, don't know how to draw blood properly. When she finally draws my blood, I actually felt a decent amount of pain from when she inserted the needle to about 3 hours after she drew my blood. Later that night, I saw a bruise form on my left arm. I don't understand. If she saw that there was a bruise on my left arm, why did she get blood from that arm? How is she so arrogant that she, a supposedly well-trained phlebotomist, actually gave me a bruise? Every doctor that has drawn blood from me has never given me a bruise. Just don't ever come here. Here is what I wrote to Labcorps customer service. Posting it on Yelp to warn others. "I'm actually writing about an unauthorized transaction that occurred and the outright deception by one of your employees. I arrived at my appointment at 139 Centre St. #807 at 10:00am. The receptionist informed me of the $62.50 balance which I found odd because my insurance has always paid for my lab work. She offered to let me still continue my appointment if I paid a $50 "down deposit." So I gave her my card and she ran it. She asked me to sign the receipt which was in the amount of $62.50! Lie #1. I told her she had not been authorized to do that. So she asked if I wanted to cancel everything, the charging of the card and appointment. I couldn't believe the deception, so I said yes. Then she typed on her computer for a good 5 minutes as another customer waited patiently. Turns out she was wasting everyone's time. She was just pretending to perform the work. LIE #2. The charge is still on my bill. I have since conferred with my insurance, and I do owe the $62.50. I do not dispute the charge. My reason for writing is to alert you of this woman's unprofessional and unethical behavior. At some point, I plan to go to this office and let her know personally that she is unfit to handle any payment transactions. What a stain on the Labcorps name. Ironically, above this employee's work station is a sign that reads, "It takes years to acquire a customer and a day to lose one." She should listen to her own advice. " read more

I had a terrible experience here. Even for getting blood drawn, I do not recommend going here. First, the service was terrible. I called days earlier to locate my paperwork and set it aside, yet when I arrived it still took the receptionist 40 minutes to find it, as she was chatting away on a personal phone call. Furthermore, such receptionist was the one also taking my blood. Unable to find a vein, she aimlessly inserted the needle into my arm, being one of the most painful blood giving experiences of my life. After taking the needle out, I continued to profusely bleed for hours. Even days later, I still have a horrendous bruise and immense pain in my arm. If I can give this place minus one star I would! Consider yourself warned. Stay away! And Definitely DO NOT bring young children here. Unlike another reviewer on Google reviews who sucked it in b/c he needed results asap, young children can't do that. We went earlier this afternoon and it was unpleasant from the start. Never got an acknowledgement when I said hello to the guy (Kenny) at the front desk. He got right to business with, "how can I help you". It was like engaging with a robot. And the t.v. was blasting with news about child abduction my young daughter later told me -- another strike! There was no indication from the prescribing dr, written or verbal, that fasting was necessary, but Kenny asked me whether or not my young daughter had eaten today. Good god, it was 3:10 p.m.!! What sensible person would subject a young child to that? Instead of just opting for an early morning appointment?!? Unbeknownst to me, that was just the beginning of the end... He made it clear that having eaten can sometimes disqualify results, but refuse to clarify with the dr. So I took matters into my own hands. After a quick search on my phone for the answer, I ignored the stupidity and/or callousness of his question and moved forward with the paperwork. At 3:15 we were the only ones there initially. To my surprise, Kenny was also the phlebotomist! Given that off comment he made about fasting for my young daughter, I was rather concerned about him drawing blood from her! So I thought it was an opportunity to improve the situation when I found out that the other person in the exam room was also a phlebotomist , an older woman named Ellen or Elaine. But she was rather nervous, shabby and unhealthy looking, so that didn't instill much confidence -- made me wonder how steady she would be with the needle while collecting blood from my daughter... Personally, I am TERRIFIED of needles, definitely more so than my brave girl. And since my nerves were rattled, I asked her what I have asked every person that has every taken blood from me: how long had she had been drawing blood, what's the worse case she's ever had, what she likes most about her job, etc. Well, with this woman, I didn't get very far. When asked how long she had been doing this, she flipped the question and asked how much experience she should have for me to be comfortable(!!!). Good god Lady, you really don't know your profession if you don't know that you're in a profession that makes lots of people kinda nervous. Who likes having strangers stick 'em with a needle and draw blood from them?!?! But she was either too bad at her job or too insecure in her abilities to engage my question in any meaningful way. My patience was near breaking at this point. So I pointedly repeated my question, to which she answered, "Probably longer than you have been alive.." Yeah, I was pretty fed up by then, bit persisted with, "How long is that?" She finally answered, "Forty years..." and proceeded to tightened the band around my daughter's arm... Fortunately, my strong and brave daughter (she is usually unfazed by needles and getting blood drawn, but I think the people there were making her nervous) found the courage to tell me, "no, mommy" as she fought back tears. I'm still so livid about what happened after I told this woman that we weren't ready, but also realized that this is probably more detail than what you came here for. So I'll be brief, we left the place without getting blood work done. That woman ignored me as we were leaving, literally with her back turned to us and looking out the window, never acknowledging my verbal indication we were leaving. As we got to the door, she started yelling something to me. By this point, I was done -- wasn't interested in talking to her now. But she followed us out the door and charge me with taking papers I should not have. She literally grabbed them out of my hands and that's when I lost it and gave her a piece of my mind... Ellen/Elaine also lied and told me that she was the manager of the place... Props to Kenny for eventually helping to de-escalate the situation. Check other Yelp reviews, LabCorp in general seems pretty scary across the board. Quest Diagnostics look much better! I've only used them for xrays before, but will check them out now. Hope my daughter's appointment there will go well tomorrow. Good luck everyone! Such a personal and important task to complete, if only we can do it ourselves!!
