Terrible experience…read more Today, Saturday, July 18, 2026, at around 1:00 PM, I visited the Miami Beach location because I injured my foot and was in significant pain. Since I don't have insurance, I was informed that the medical consultation would cost $140 and the X-rays $80. After the nurse took my X-rays, Dr. Luis Cabrera never brought me into an exam room, never asked about my symptoms, never looked at my foot, and never performed a physical examination. He simply looked at the X-rays, said he couldn't see anything, recommended that I see a foot specialist, and told me the radiologist wasn't available to interpret the X-rays. When I asked who was going to perform my medical examination, he replied that he didn't need to examine me because he already knew I had injured a toe. I explained that he had never even looked at my foot, but he insisted he didn't need to. When I asked how he could give a medical opinion without examining the patient, he dismissively told me to "find someone to explain it to you." I then asked, "If you're not going to examine me, why am I being charged $140 for a medical consultation?" At that point, Dr. Cabrera became angry, told me not to pay anything, and ordered me to leave the clinic. The entire incident happened in front of the nurse and the receptionist, making the experience humiliating and deeply unprofessional. I left the clinic without receiving a medical examination or treatment and without paying, because Dr. Cabrera told me to leave. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a physician. I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience.

Very disappointed with my experience at Midtown Women's Center, especially regarding billing and…read moretransparency. Before my appointment, I called twice specifically to ask about the cost and was told the out-of-pocket cost would be approximately $150-$200. I also asked again on the day of my appointment and was told my insurance would cover 100% of the service. I was extremely surprised to later receive a $339.68 bill after insurance. I understand that insurance billing can be complicated, but this is exactly why I made the effort to call twice beforehand. Florida Statute §395.301 addresses healthcare price transparency and requires covered facilities to provide timely and accurate financial information and good-faith estimates for scheduled services. Florida Statute §395.301 I have already contacted the billing department, but was told there was nothing they could do. I then contacted the Women's Center directly, and unfortunately, the staff member hung up on me. I found that extremely unprofessional and disappointing. My request is simple: please review my bill and allow me to pay the lower self-pay price I was quoted, rather than the $339.68 patient responsibility. At the very least, I deserve a clear explanation of why I was quoted $150-$200 and ultimately billed significantly more after insurance. As for the actual care, the mammogram and ultrasound staff were professional, but the overall experience could have been much warmer. A little more kindness and reassurance during these procedures would make a big difference. I hope the center takes this feedback seriously and improves both its billing transparency and customer service.

My doctor and the nursing staff are wonderful during visits, but trying to get refills on…read moreprescriptions over the phone or on the MyChart app is ridiculous. On 12/10, I used my pharmacy's app to request refills on four prescriptions. My pharmacy messaged the Mount Sinai Miami Shores office on 12/11 to refill the four prescriptions. When I called the pharmacy on 12/16 to see if the prescriptions were ready, they said Mount Sinai had not gotten back to them yet. That same day, 12/16, I went to the MyChart app to see if I could refill the prescriptions there. The note on all the prescriptions was that the request for refills could not be made through the app, so I called the doctor's office (call #1) to let them know that the request for refills had been made by my pharmacy the week prior. Two of the four prescriptions were sent to my pharmacy. The resulting message on MyChart listed the meds I requested, along with a medication I'd never heard of. I called back on 12/19 (call #2) to put in request for the two meds they didn't send the first time, and was assured that it would be handled. On 12/21, I called the pharmacy and was told they never received any authorization from Mount Sinai Miami Shores for the last two prescriptions. I sent my doctor a detailed message through MyChart letting him know what happened. He never replied. On 12/23, I called again (call #3) and explained the situation. I was told a priority message would be sent to the doctor. On 12/24, today, I woke up to find that one of the meds had finally been called in to my pharmacy. The remaining medication had a note that I could take the written prescription to any pharmacy. I didn't have a written prescription! I called the pharmacy and was told that they had sent a request for the refill first thing this morning. I called Mount Sinai Miami Shores (call #4) and asked to speak to a supervisor, but was directed to the same lady who had told me it would be done the first time, back on 12/16. She said she would make sure the medication was called in to my pharmacy ASAP. I guess ASAP didn't mean today, because Mount Sinai is now closed for Christmas and my medication still hasn't been called in to my pharmacy. NOTE: Prescription #3 that was received today had a change in the dosage. WTH? I am so disgusted with this entire process. Fix the app and get better personnel that can handle simple requests. I understand that the holidays are hectic for everyone and that doctors' offices are very busy, but waiting two weeks for refills, and still not getting one of them, is unacceptable. I will be discussing this with my doctor, as I've made the next available appointment with him (February) to go over my meds.

I had to ask them when was I going to get called....... I literally just asked if they know I'm in this room waiting and the girl just said "yes." It doesn't even look busy in here, it's so frustrating. My Uber dropped me off at 10:30 it's not 12:13 and still have not been seen, or acknowledged in this room. They need a little more sense of urgency, they also need to acknowledge the patients and let them know what's going on for example once they get text to come into the room, there should either be a nurse waiting already or a nurse to immediately come in and say something like "Hi (xyz) I'm (xyz) I'll be with you in a moment I just have to....."
