I sat there for two hours today and didn't get called back to give blood. I walked out. Outrageous!

Many thanks to all the staff at HCA Poinciana Medical Center for taking such good care of me. I…read moreentered the ER with high blood pressure and mild headache. i was greeted with a smile by the gentleman who signed me in and the nurse who took my vitals was friendly and courteous. When entering the ER the nurses were very professional and friendly. Dr Colon-Cruz was the attending that evening and listened to my concerns. Very soon I was undergoing tests for possible heart attack. All nurses and techs involved with my initial testing were courteous and professional, explaining what was being done and making sure that I was comfortable. As a result of the initial testing, I was told I was experiencing a heart attack and would need to be admitted. Without going into great detail, I want to express my sincere thanks to all the staff who provided medical assistance to me during my overnight stay. Wishing i could remember all the names of those who took care of me, those that I do remember were Natalia, Maria (2), Johnathan, Joey, Olga. I especially want to thank Sean and Lianis in the stress test lab for all they did to make me feel comfortable, answering all my questions, explaining the procedure and what I would experience. This was the first time I was administered any heart related testing. The nurse who handled the pictures (I can't remember her name) before and after the stress test was courteous and offered blankets to keep me warm. The ER area is very cold!! Love those heated blankets!! Once I was moved to the 3rd floor and settled into a patient room, all the nurses there were courteous and made sure I was comfortable. I was released the next day thankfully with no serious results from testing. Meds were prescribed and I was able to go home. I cant say enough about all the wonderful care I was given during my stay. I thank each and every nurse, tech, doctor, clerk, etc. who I encountered. Even the gentlemen who came in my ER room at 4:30am to remove all trash, etc. was friendly and wished me well on my recovery. I am a Solivita resident and we are very lucky to have a hospital right across the street with employees who have our best interest at heart and take such good care in helping us get well. Sincerely, Susan W.

My barely 25‑year‑old daughter, Taylor, died after what multiple independent physicians and an…read moreautopsy have confirmed was reckless medical negligence and neglect in an HCA Florida Hospital where she was taken after being rear‑ended at a red light. Her internal bleeding went undiagnosed for about eight hours despite glaring signs. Once imaging was finally ordered and active internal bleeding was confirmed, surgery was delayed for roughly seven more hours. In the meantime, the doctor ordered mass blood transfusion in an improper way that worsened her condition instead of stabilizing her, while failing to move the central line that was improperly placed and that the radiologist recommended be repositioned. HCA Healthcare has faced no consequences, and there is no way for people researching physicians through the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the medical licensing board, to see what happened to my daughter. Because she was 25, unmarried, and had no children, Florida's 'Free Kill' law strategically blocked me from pursuing legal recourse to ensure the hospital and its physicians are held accountable so the harm does not continue. If you or your loved ones rely on HCA Healthcare in Florida, please take time to learn how this system really works and how families can protect themselves.
