So, I went to check in. The front desk was patient and kind with me. Once I turned in all my information and paid my copay, I was called moments later. The techs were knowledgeable and asked questions to make sure I was comfortable. I needed imaging for my doctor and had contrast (which I've never done before) but it went well. The day before I was stuck 4 times with a needle so I didn't want anyone who couldn't get it on the first try. When I tell you, the lady got me on the first try... I almost cried in relief. I hate being a pin cushion. From then on I laid back and let them do their thing. They explained everything to me and it was just as they said. I would go to them for everything no questions asked! I really appreciate having a great experience!

I had an appointment scheduled 2 weeks before the merger officially took place on March 1, 2026. My appointment for an MRI was scheduled for March 3. I get a text stating that the MRI had to be canceled because prior authorization was not obtained prior to the appointment. The message said I was welcome to keep the appointment but the out of pocket cost would need to be paid at the time of service. When I called to say that a CMI representative told me authorization was obtained and the appointment was confirmed, I was told the merger took place on March 1 and the prior authorization for the appointment was for Chesapeake Medical Imagining (CMI), not RadNet and RadNet could not accept the prior authorization from CMI. The new company, RadNet explained that a new referral would need to be written from my provider and go through the whole prior auth process again!! This will delay the procedure another 10 to 14 days. This means I am waiting for a month or more for an MRI necessary for my doctor to evaluate and treat my condition. The doctor said he cannot ethically prescribe medication until he sees the results of the MRI. Not to mention that I was on hold with an extremely unprofessional RadNet representative (Amanda) for almost an hour while the rep went back and forth with the insurance authorization and billing department. This extraordinarily long hold time was NEVER an issue with CMI and scheduling and obtaining a prior atheization was never an issue. It seems like there is a monopoly with medical imaging because of this recent merger. I don't see these issues getting better since bigger seems to indicate more room for error and unprofessionalism. I have been a long-standing patient with CMI (14 years), but because of this merger and my most recent experience, I feel patient care has gone to the wayside and the professionalism was nonexistent. The good news is that I am a patient with Mercy and will transfer all of my medical imaging studies to them. To be clear, with this new merger of CMI and RadNet (Advanced Radiology), I o longer recommend this business to anyone. I gave 1 star because it was required.

Beyond the terse & unhelpful tone of this text, my voicemail stated explicitly that we had walked; we had no way of getting to another urgent care, especially not that far away. My main frustration is the absence of any indication that they were closed and their failure to pick up the phone, even to put me on hold.

Speaking with Kathy Frank only confirmed that this is a systemic issue. Instead of addressing the problem, I was met with an argumentative tone and told they "see 800 patients a day," as if that excuses poor communication. We're talking about a $130 bill--yet instead of clearly communicating with patients, their process appears to push accounts toward collections. That's not a one-off mistake. That's a broken system. If your credit rating matters to you be very careful this with provider. I'll be finding a better option for my family.

There is an online system where you can get an appointment and maybe I've lucked out, but you can get them usually within the hour. We've been here a few times for minor issues (potential ear infections, pink eye, etc) for both of our kids. The doctors and MAs have always been nice and helpful. Yes, there is sometimes a wait but I can assure you it's much shorter than and more affordable than going to the ER. That being said, if our kids had a major need (major bleeding, broken something, etc) I would always recommend an ER especially if it's a very time sensitive issue. The decor is bright and cheery and they do a great job keeping things clean and tidy. I would definitely come back here as needed!

"Good afternoon, I am writing to share my experience at your Edgewater, MD location today. While I was impressed by the professionalism and kindness of everyone I interacted with, I unfortunately received an incorrect initial diagnosis. I came in for an x-ray of my pinky finger and was initially told that there were no breaks or fractures. However, I later received a call from PA Ben confirming that a hairline fracture was detected after further review by the radiologist. I understand that medical errors can happen, but I believe it would have been beneficial to wait for the radiologist's report before providing a definitive diagnosis. Additionally, knowing about the hairline fracture, I would have appreciated the opportunity to have my finger wrapped as a precautionary measure. Despite this, I want to commend the staff for their overall care and attention. I hope this feedback can be used to improve future patient experiences. Thank you for your time and consideration." This was my experience in a nutshell. Needless to say, I won't be returning.
