The tech then took about 15 minutes filling out paperwork, then had to redo them because he entered the information incorrectly. Ultimately, he drew 5 vials of blood for what was supposed to be 3 tests. I received one result on Saturday, and then called my physician today to see where the other two were, and they were never entered. So I'm not sure what the tech did with the additional 4 vials of blood that I gave him, but they were never even sent onto the lab for evaluation. On top of that, the tech made some inappropriate and sexist comments (making unsolicited remarks about how I should "let my husband be a man" etc.). This feels incredibly unprofessional bordering on negligent--even my physician was stunned. I'd strongly warn anyone against going here based on my experience, and I plan to contact Quest directly to share this feedback.

"Go home and take dayquil." Even after explaining the recent history of health. They were just completely wrong... just spent 4 days in the ER and hospital for severe pneumonia. If you have something simple that's wrong with you then this is the place. If it is at all complicated you should go to a care center with better diagnostic testing. They are not on any system where they can see your history. If you need a couple stitches they might be able to do that. If you need someone to listen and pay attention to your health and concerns you need to go elsewhere. p.s. I tried calling this in before reviewing and they won't take your concerns over the phone.

While this particular location would not allow me to set an appointment for a future date, I was able to save a spot online for 50 minutes. This allowed me to get off of work, drive to the location, check in using the code they provided and be seen in a timely fashion. Unlike a typical appointment at a doctor's office where delays are the norm, I was greeted 5 minutes early and the appointment began exactly at the promised time. I provided my driver's license and proof of insurance and she explained all that would be tested and how the tests would be conducted. My exam checked all of the boxes, saved me a great deal of time and my results were immediate and printed for my future records.

I felt like she received pretty good care from the nurse and nurse practitioner that we saw. We didn't have to wait too long, and they were quickly able to rule out a couple of things. They ended up calling in a prescription for an antibiotic for us, which is really what I believed was all we needed before we went in there. One thing did seem a little odd to me, however. Even though a nurse had told us "a doctor will be in to see you shortly," a doctor never did see my daughter - only a nurse practitioner came by. Based on a web search after the fact, I discovered that in Ohio, a doctor is apparently not required to actually work on site at a medical facility, just be in some kind of contract with and do annual reviews of a nurse practitioner. Or something like that. The nurse practitioner can write some prescriptions. So I'm left suspecting that there was not even a doctor on the premises that evening, which makes me wonder why the nurse said that one would come see my daughter. At any rate, I'll be interested to see our part of the bill when it comes, to see how their services are listed out. It crossed my mind that maybe this is the new way of trying to cut medical costs, but I have my suspicions that this was still a very pricey visit.

This comes from both first hand experience as a patient and comments from Ohio health staff and staff physicians. Whoever decided this change would be positive or non-disruptive to patients should be fired. The transition was rushed to the point it makes one wonder if any forthought was put into the process (other than the money savings). Unfortunately, phlebotomists and lab techs are finding they will be worse off compared to their tenure at Ohio health To be clear, the folks actually doing the work (eg phlebotomists and lab tech) are wonderful and doing the best they can under enormous stress and daily backlogs due to the poor execution of this change

Then, instead of trying to be helpful she just shook her head the whole time while telling us that since it was now Quest Diagnostics and not OhioHealth she could not get on MyChart to see what lab tests were ordered. The COPC lab on Africa Rd. in Westerville, is basically for walk-ins. After arriving, I waited and waited but I didn't mind because I am a patient person. Quite some time later, I was told that I had been called right after I checked in. Where I was, I would have heard my name called and I would have seen the lab employee. Never saw anyone looking for me and I never heard my name called. I was told the lab employees were going into a meeting. With people waiting to be seen, that was odd that they would have a meeting on the spur of the moment (ad hoc meeting). I had no idea how long the meeting would be and no one told me. Since I wasn't feeing well and had already waited quite some time, I needed to leave. Two MAJOR Concerns About the COPC Billing Dept. on Africa Rd.: 1. Shortly afterwards, I learned the COPC administration office charged me $25.00 saying I was a no-show which was untrue. I was there and I had checked in. 2. I do not trust the administrative office or the billing dept.! Also, I learned from a COPC employee in the Billing Dept. that their billing dept. charges a patient for lab work prior to the visit being processed by the insurance company. Not ethical at all. That is one reason healthcare is in dire need of reform!!! Note: The woman who checked me in wasn't friendly or welcoming. I had a very unpleasant experience with her. If you go there for lab work, you may wish to speak with one of the 'first' two ladies at the check-in area. They're names are Rebecca and Moona. The complex has several offices for various functions; when I got to the "lab draw station" there were a few people waiting, and a sign that said blood draw patients might have to wait awhile. Okay, I have time, and it needs done. Waited about 10 minutes. Staff up front and in back were super friendly and professional. Draw was quick and easy. Over before I knew it. I'd definitely come back here for another test, or an appointment.
