They are a very detailed oriented team and work hard to maintain a relationship with their employees. Ernie Pineda who I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing always advised me on certain positions and recommended me for others. His work ethic is outstanding in my opinion. Ernie is a great person to work with. I am looking forward to working with him in the future.

One of this company's best assets is encouraging open lines of communication, which is to say that the staff is able to both skillfully convey information and listen to (and understand) the parties with whom they interact. One often overlooked offshoot of effective communication involves eliciting feedback from the hiring clients. Gerard Group is fully aware of the importance of this feedback and always tries to secure this information for its job seekers so that they may be in a better position to market themselves for future job opportunities. Whenever I need to look for a new job, I make sure that Gerard Group is among the first who I call.

If called in for an interview, like I was, make sure to get there early, as there is at least 20 mins of pre-employment paperwork to fill out. Otherwise, I was treated quite nicely as an interviewee, and I appreciated the easy-to-talk-to employees that made the interview less nerve-racking. We'll see if I can get a job opp here :P

You all should re drug test them. But even after all that I still wanted to work for this company for someone reason.. until yesterday, I found out over the weekend my fiance is pregnant so we set up a doctor's visit for her and I forgot about it until the doctor called me right before I went into work saying he could see her around 1:30 11/17/15, so I send her a text message telling her that and put my phone in one of the managers offices because you can't hAve your phone on the warehouse floor, so i go into work. After an hour and a half passes I tell my,co worker I'll be right back so I can see if she went to the doctors when I get my phone from his office I go to the break room and see my fiance hasn't responded, so I give her a quick call to check up on my future wife and child, as I do that someone terminates my employment for being on the phone when he didn't even know the reason. This company is one of the worst company's I have ever had the experience to work for. They are not family oriented, they don't care about their employees (sorry but treating your employees like crap then buying them lunch isn't appreciation) their communication skills at this warehouse are horrible. They waste your money by forcing employee to stay late because they don't know how to communicate and lose packages which we then have to search the whole warehouse for. This is the type of uncaring, unprofessional company you do NOT want moving/distributing your medicine or medical supplies.

While I can't thank them enough for the opportunity they helped furnish, getting me in the door to this place that provided me with invaluable experience and some awesome fodder for my resume, I was pretty displeased with the way the representatives of adecco treated the contract employees. Frankly, your onsite manager generally treats you as though you are a necessary evil, and lets that reflect in their attitude towards you. They tout their holiday pay program which is nearly impossible to qualify for, their payroll department is a black hole of customer service, where neither information nor help will ever escape from, and the health benefits they offer are terrible. When the company I worked for offered incentive based bonuses, these were taxed in a fashion that was never consistent, and despite the bonuses gross amounts being the same, the net amount never was. No one could explain to me what was happening here. I would recommend the service simply because of the places they can get you into, but would warn anyone that once you are in the door, you are largely on your own. They really have a lot they need to improve on, first and foremost how they treat the people that earn them all their money.

They emphasize following their process without explanation, just that it's the required next step. I initially followed as required, but then it just felt like they were not listening to my questions for clarity, just reiterating their steps. It just felt like they didn't give me credibility, just discomfort. :(

The career and training advisors care and they do the best they can to provide guidance and advice. The advisors that I have worked with have been very positive, encouraging, and helpful. NOVA also offers a variety of workshops to cover various needs for job seekers (resume writing, interview skills, LinkedIn tips, etc). However, where I find NOVA really comes through for its members is access to resources. During my time, I was given opportunities to attend job fairs, an event at the LinkedIn campus, and regular networking events. Every Thursday NOVA also brings in a guest speaker to present key topics. Many of these speakers are very open to providing you with free consultations where I've had the chance to get different perspectives on my resume, career coaching, and networking advice. NOVA members also get free access to LinkedIn Premium and LinkedIn Learning for a year and courses on IBM SkillsBuild for 6 months. Most importantly, what you get with NOVA is a community of advisors and members to support you so you don't feel as if you're doing this job search alone. Best of all, all of these services and offerings cost you NOTHING, as long as you live within the qualified cities. Joining NOVAworks does not guarantee you will find a job because there is no one-size-fit-all approach to job searching. As a job seeker it's important to find an approach that works best for or is most comfortable to you. In that respect, NOVAworks does a great job of providing a foundation to work with, and fairly limitless access to tools and resources, that can enable and empower you.
