I joined Lab Athletics with a 6 week nutrition and membership program, after the first week of going to the work outs I knew this was the gym for me! I love how the work outs are small groups with really awesome coaches, every single coach has been so helpful with form, offering alternative movements if needed, giving helpful feedback while also encouraging you to lift heavier and push harder and I feel like every coach truly wants you to be the healthiest strongest person you can be! All the coaches and the owner Jake are so friendly and make the work out classes fun but challenging. They are all so knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness, they're all so amazing and so great at helping to keep you motivated! All the other members are so encouraging too, it really makes a difference when the other people doing the work out with you and pushing themselves just as hard if not harder and are super friendly while encouraging you to push yourself too. I've had such an awesome experience at this gym unlike any other gym I've attended. The community this gym has created is truly one of a kind! My only regret is not finding them sooner! I really love the structure of the work outs with the hour classes having portions for strength training and portions endurance training. I personally really enough being able to focus on trying to lift heavy and really work certain muscle groups and then finishing the work out off with another portion to really get your heart rate going. The nutrition plan I started with the 6 week program was really well thought out and all the food was tasty, nothing was bland or boring. Every meal I felt full and wasn't craving more food. I also made some new recipes that I really love and still make for myself from it! I highly recommend this gym, every work out and check in meeting with Jake throughout the 6 week program have all been so positive, encouraging, inspiring, motivating and honestly really fun!! read more

My first Yelp event! After getting lost, I found lab Athletics tucked away off Meridian near a warehouse. They wasted no time in putting us through a challenging workout! Unlike some other gyms, you can tell the trainers sincerely care about you as a person and helping you attain your fitness goals. They also have 6 week challenges, personal training and Jurassic Snacks onsite for some tasty post-workout treats. Although this type of bootcamp style workout (burpees, mountain climbers, flipping huge tires,etc) does not appeal to me, it motivated me to get back on track with exercise I do enjoy. Highly recommend lab Athletics for those looking for a grueling workout and fantastic, professional and motivating and experienced trainers. read more

A HUGE THANK YOU to Jake Brogg and Yehlenn Ebbay and all the trainers at Lab Athletics! At 54 I would never have imagined finding my strongest and most fit body and mind through such simple lifestyle changes! I didn't know I had 23 lbs and 20% body fat to lose! That was eight pounds and 5% past my goals! Still, the reduction in weight was not why I came to you. I came because my job can be very physical and I was told "Get strong now, or keep getting injured!" In my work I need to be able to move quickly, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds if needed at the drop of a hat. Doesn't sound like a tall order but as time has marched on I've watched my strength and fitness level shift dramatically-not in a good direction. I knew what I needed to do but had no idea how to start. Thankfully I found Lab Athletics! And despite my physical challenges and needs, you welcomed me with a "can do, body positive, welcoming and inclusive" safe space to work at my own pace and toward my personal best. With your guidance I was able to: set realistic goals; begin a safe, nutritionist developed, simple and balanced nutrient rich meal plan that can be used eating in or out; and feel consistently encouraged, inspired and supported in a fun, safe, inclusive community! Clearly I am a dedicated fan of Lab Athletics! All of the trainers are experts and are equally engaging and fun! I am well supported in each class I attend. The trainers are ready and able to help me adapt any exercise my body can't -or isn't ready- to do. When I leave I feel successful, refreshed and stronger! After my now 3 months working out with you I have been amazed thinking about when I started and how far I've come. In the beginning, I wasn't able to do even one push-up or pull myself up on a bar. Now among many accomplishments, I CAN do 50 adapted pull-ups and 15 real push-ups without other supports! Thank you Jake Brogg and Yehlenn Ebbay and all of the trainers (Lor, Bri, Bethany and Nathan) for providing the welcoming and inclusive space at Lab Athletics. You welcome and celebrate everyone -everyone, with all of our differences and needs. And on the most personal note, thank you for inspiring and leading me in this part of my next journey in life.
