The parking lot is the most illogical in town but once you navigate it and go inside, this is a great exercise facility! Super friendly staff, easy signup process.. they accept Senior fitness programs like Silver Sneakers and Silver&Fit and if you have those, the only cost to you is the $10 fee for the membership card, and that's doable, right? Absolutely immaculate equipment and locker room; I was disappointed that you have to provide your own lock but no biggie.. There's a good selection of classes to choose from and they're included in the membership and my opinion is, classes are much more fun and compelling than just trudging along solo on a treadmill or pumping out reps, y'know? The only downside (to me) is they don't have a hot tub or sauna.. but they do have nice showers with endless hot water, which can be soothing... And they have a generous guest-pass period, so hey, check em out for free! See you there! Oh.. and here's the hat I earned for attending regularly! ((NOT PROVIDED BY CITY GYM!!!)) read more

City Gym - Gyms Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

I am done gatekeeping this gym the 205 for a year deal is SOOOO good. That is 17 a month!!! With me moving I unfortunately would have to do the 6 month term and it isn't worth that more a price jump from what I use to pay for the year. Maybe you guys can start a 6 month deal too?? But overall I love it. Not too many young people go mainly older folks which is very nice! read more

Had a very condescending conversation with the owner or manage. I do not know which one. You should NEVER talk to your customer the way you did. Will not be coming back! I have witnessed other heated conversations between the staff and customers. read more

The gym is great, several machines. Large space. Good crowd. Staff keeps machines clean. A couple of things I would mention is that the front desk staff could update their appearance, dress code, perhaps provide them with City Gym logo polo shirt. The other is the men's locker room needs to be kept a bit cleaner, the toilets need to be cleaned. read more

Manager William does not seem to be able have the gym open on a regular schedule. No shows once a month. Please see most resent google reviews. Bathrooms are cleaned 1 time per week by a member in exchange for gym use. Staff including manager sit behind the counter, headphones in staring at their cellphones. I highly recommend more people report problems. I was a member for over 10 years pre covid and never saw anything like the way it is now. I think finding a new manager would solve a lot of problems. He appears to be to good to do his job. Oh not to mention he parks his car in a parking spot reserved for the learning center. Scumbag! read more

I've been a member of 3 different gyms in Whatcom county. I've been a member off and on for a number of years at City Gym. This is the gym I always come back to. Of the 3 gyms I've joined, it's the only one that didn't find a way to add charges to my account, or tell me one thing and then charge me for another. It's the only gym I can walk into and get my workout done without waiting for equipment. It's also (especially if you use a sale or coupon) the most reasonably priced and they don't tack on a bunch of silly charges to join. The only cons I've seen is the occasional lackluster attitude of desk staff, although the guys working there yesterday were helpful and friendly. read more

Great prices. Clean. Not too busy. Smaller gym if you are looking for a place that is not crowded.

The brother-in-law brought me here this morning to check it out and since they are free for guests on Friday, i figured why not. There's no reason this gym should be anything less then 4 stars; it's clean, the staff is super friendly and they have everything you need, including tanning. If you're looking for a gym in Bellingham, I would definitely recommend you come check City Gym out before blowing them off based on one bad review. (If the equipment was newer I would have given them 5 stars) read more

Disappointed... Not in the gym itself because I haven't actually had a chance to use it and form an opinion. It's unfortunate that the people who work here (in my experience) don't have accurate information. I called on a whim recently after looking up Zumba classes online and the girl I spoke to was pleasant. I asked if you could just pay for classes because I typically am unmotivated in the traditional gym. She said she wasn't sure but I could leave my name and number and she would have her manager call me back. She confirmed that there was a Zumba class on Thursday nights at 7 (this is actually not the case). Before hanging up, she told me they were offering a very good deal-$145 membership for 6 months and 6 months after free. I was thinking about just signing up then after doing the math..a little over $12/month. That was a Sunday, I called them back and left a message on Tuesday. No call back. On Thursday I physically visited the gym where I was half-heartedly greeted by an employee who was doing something on her phone. I asked her about paying for just classes and she informed me that the gym no longer offers this. I then asked her about the Zumba class on Thursday night and she told me that no evening class on Thursday night existed. I told her I saw it online and spoke to an employee who confirmed it, and she simply responded by saying it must have been an old listing...she was not rude, but simply didn't care that I was a potential customer who was misinformed. I was super excited when I originally heard about the promo-I even told a friend who was thinking about signing up. But now, I don't plan on coming here and if anyone asks, I'm gonna share how lousy my experience was with customer service. I guess you pay for what you get...including informed employees and a manager that cares about their business. read more

I've joined a few times over the years, thinking it might have changed as some of the employees changed. However over the past eight years, I've only noticed the staff getting more and more rude. You have to say something in order to be acknowledged, and even then, they'll make it clear you are inconveniencing them. Staff members always seem to be eating at the front desk, which is unprofessional in my opinion. Aside from the staff, there are always broken machines with no rush to repair them. And I've had more than one experience where men in street clothes are sitting on the weight benches staring at women, clearly not working out. Definitely something that should be monitored. If you think you're getting a good deal, think again! read more

City Gym is convenient, has friendly and helpful staff (Matti). The facility is clean. And they offer interesting classes.

Thurs Aug/2013 10pm: City Gym/Bellingham, WA: Right next door and partner with Holiday Inn Express, cardio, free weights, 1990s machines, some need TLC, a couple of tanning beds (pay/session). I like the open floor plan, all machines on 1 floor, cardio on bottom floor. It was great at late night, got the gym mostly to myself, quiet and relaxing. I was puzzled that front desk said they do away with guest towels while there's present of towel bins... hm... I'd return when staying with Holiday Inn , though not sure how it is during day time, perhaps another reviewer, or next visit. 4 stars read more

Nice gym with all the cardio, free weights, machines and classes that you would want. They also have clean dressing rooms and showers and tanning. The regular fees are amazingly low and the there is no contract. If you catch them at a time when they are having a special they can offer a great bargain. For instance this April they are offering $15 a month for 2 people if you sign up for either 3 or 6 months. That is $7.50 per person per month!! Great folks at the desk too. read more

Not the cleanest and the equipment is quite antiquated. I have worked out in worse and loved it, so not that big of a deal. But, I haven't been in to many business' that the employees were more rude. Horrible customer service... read more

Well I only went to one boot camp class (Joel the trainer was great!) because the price quoted on the phone ($149) was not the price the pedantic fellow behind the desk wanted. He was firm on the $70 join the gym fee + the $149 + tax. There were two of us who only wanted to take the boot camp classes and had no desire to use the gym or the facilities. Mr. Matter of Fact wasn't having any of it. So, instead of enjoying a great eight weeks, we paid the $6.99 for one session and left to find another camp. Sigh. read more
