There's a great mix of personal training, group classes, and spin, so there's something for everyone. Every class is fun on top of being a great workout. I LOVE the spin classes--they're super fun, we even sing along to the music, and it keeps you motivated the whole time. The red light therapy is also an awesome bonus. I started a 12-week health journey with Jackie on January 12th, and it's been an incredible experience. I feel stronger and more consistent than I have in a long time--and my journey isn't over just because the 12 weeks is almost up. It's the only gym I've ever stuck with this long. It's not just a gym, it's a community. Highly recommend!

I paid the owner cash up front for three months membership, I showed him my drivers license and signed a list of basic rules and regulations. Standard procedure. The times I go, I have seen many shady people around the property and handful of shady gym members as well. One day this week a guy came in after he sat in the parking lot for 30 min, after everyone left but me, he came in, he had on a heavy trench coat, a hat and dark sun glasses on a sunny day. We were alone in the gym, I left immediately. For the most part it has been an ok experience. Until I went recently and the owner was there. I waved a friendly hello, he looked at me like he saw a ghost. I was there about an hour. After the owner walked by me several times looking at me like he wanted me to leave, he finally walked up to me and asked me how I got in & what is my name. I reminded him that I paid him cash for a membership for three months. He asked me to step outside and re scan my key fob so he can make sure ... .... .... Which of course I did. He says ok ok and walks away quickly. I went to his office that he ran to and asked was everything ok, was my membership ok, he said yes it is showing he never turned around to acknowledge me. Rude! I left right away. He was very unfriendly. This is after a 20 something guy was in there obviously recording people working out on his phone and laughing. I love this YMCA. I'm a brand new member, so take this review with a grain of salt, but…read more.. There seems to be a great sense of community here. They have a fairly large climbing wall with a variety of difficulty levels. Pickle ball league seems very active and interesting. The pool is kinda small, but there's always a swim lane available to me when I go. The spin/cycling room is ridiculously small but it seems to work. I have yet to try other classes but there's such an awesome variety: yoga, tai chi, boot camp, Step aerobics, etc. But I don't see enough people taking advantage of their access to all the experts who work here. For example, they have a free orientation session for all new members to familiarize patrons with the exercise equipment. A wonderful lady named Mary gives the tutorials for the weight machines and can answer any other questions you might have. And she's amazing and so knowledgeable and patient and kind--and just a wonderful teacher. Other than that, the only drawbacks are the small parking lot, and it can be kinda smelly. It's an old building but they're doing some construction right now, so it might be nicer in a couple months. If you can't climb/descend stairs, then forget it. This place is not for you... But it's an all around great gym with tons to offer. And great people working here.

I would yap with them while I was resting between sets but would try and keep it short to be able to finish using the machine. Someone comes up to me and says something along the lines of are you using this machine while i was getting up to switch with my friend. I said yes I have one more set and my friend is just starting. They tell us to stop talking so much and hurry up, we say sorry and let him use the machine to avoid any trouble. They walks away and another person goes up to them and says I glad you said something they are taking too long. On another occasion, someone was rushing us off machines by standing and watching us workout. It was very awkward and I will not be going back!

The breaking point was that I asked the manager to let me help get a new elliptical machine with movable upper arm handles donated to the facility, but she refused. She said she'd "look into it," but never took effective action. I dropped my membership and won't go back until she's gone or they make improvements.
