This years' LA Wine Fest 10th Anniversary was located on the Raleigh studio & it definitely did not disappoint because it was even bigger & better than last years' event with even more wineries, vendors and breweries. Acura was here to show off their new TL model; they were also handing out these delicious vanilla sea salt caramel which made the experience even sweeter. Icelandic water was a big sponsor of this event & provided us with clean tasty water that went great with the wine & beer tastings at this event. Tropical showcased their delicious Mango & Passion Fruit Moscato, which was very popular with the ladies. Bazaar Boutique had soy candles which smelled just serene & heavenly. Navarro Vineyards & Winery was here to showcase their tasty wines that ranged from Roses, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay & Gewurztraminer (my favorite). Stella Artois was on hand to pour their delicious cider & beers. Laguna Salt Company, which is a family owned company displayed their gourmet, hand crafted salts infused with various herbs & spices. Elysian Brewing Co. was handing out very good sized pours of their beers. My favorite was the Space Dust. TossWare showed off their high end plastic clear, recyclable drinking glasses that's perfect for dinners, picnics, events, catering, or even whole sale distribution. These glasses come in various sizes; from tumblers to flutes and pints. Eppa SupraFruta Sangria uses certified organic fruit juices in its sangria. Temecula Valley Wine Growers brought out wines from various wineries for tastings. Fetzer Wines had tastings on their Chardonny, Cabernet Sauvignon. & Gewurztraminer. My favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall, everything was nicely spread out & there were plenty of wineries, breweries, vendors and food trucks to check out which made this event so much fun to check out. I can't wait for next years event!

I got to try the Winefest for 2015, it did not disappoint! There were wines, some samples, some goods for sale, a glass engraving booth I didn't get a chance to take advantage of, some beer booths, and a band from what I remember. Raleigh studio, albeit a smaller studio, is big enough for this event. I like that they spread out the vendors out like a letter C and it didn't feel crowded. It also helped that the weather was quite nice. Strey Cellers Cab was one of my favorites from here. An award winner red, I will look for it at my nearest store next time around. I got the ice cream from Acura this year. Salt and Straw caramel, thank you Acura! Stella gave out their glasses with their libations. One thing I though they could have more of was seating and tables. There definitely were not enough. Hey, carrying wine and drinking was hard work, especially when you're double fisting! Would definitely come back again! There's always codes or Goldstar tickets for around $50 for this deal.

I have been to better. First of all after you park there isn't any signs directing you to the entrance of the festival, I had to ask the security how to get into the festival. Theirs a few different lines to pick up you will- call tickets depending on how you ordered. This year the event was at 777 alameda , Los angeles Alright, we got our ticket and wine glass and now it's time to explore. It was a nice set up, because you just walk down the aisle and on each side the have a wine or some other type of vender selling something. It was only 3 to 4 food trucks , which weren't any I wanted to explore.. Their was a band of 3 young men who bought life to the festival. They had a few tables and chairs in certain areas. Mostly all the venders were nice and friendly except Pbimports.com. Me and my cousin were reading the literature on the table at primporys.con while he was finishing up with his last customer. (Mine you he only had 1 table) Once pbmimport.com finished up he stood just looking straight as if we weren't even at the table. Someone else walked up and he assisted them with a pour. (He didn't even have a line) We stood there for about 10 seconds like wow and walked away and went to another vender who was willing to share the knowledge about the wine and pour us a taste. This event was from 2pm -6pm . It you come at 2pm you can be done ar about 3:30pm. I was expecting something similar to uncork wine events. But hay I still had a few pours.

LA wine connoisseurs unite here! The finest of international wines come together for your enjoyment at the LA Wine Fest. An endless amounts of reds, whites, rosé wines from far and wide came together to be in one glorious festival. While, I personally am not a wine fan, my family is and we all had a grand ol' time. For $75 a ticket the wine fest is a bit steep, but you can most definitely get your money's worth by trying multiple samples and asking for more refills. I think a more reasonable price would be $30 - $60. Besides wine tasting, there is draft beer and coffee available for non-wine fans. I don't really like wine, but I did end up finding two wines t hat I liked. One was Stella Rosa and the other was a Korean rice wine. There were also a good amount of fashion vendors. I ended buying these beautiful pair of turquoise earrings. They were about $38. Although a bit expensive, I am hoping that the earrings will last a long time. The vendor told me that they were gold mix, which is the reason why I ended up buying them. Only time will tell if they are truly good quality. This year, the LA Wine Fest chose a great location to be at. They were conveniently located to Smorgasburg LA and there were many shops that were open, either inside the festival or outside. Inside, there was Milla Chocolates and this vintage shop that was filled with glamorous dress from days of old. Parking is free for the first two hours. What I noticed many people doing was parking and then parking again in two hours. There are always loopholes.

This event was a blast! Saved a few buck$ buy purchasing discount tix on Goldstar. There were TONS of wine vendors so there were numerous selections to choose from. There were also vendors for chocolate, juice, coffee, dipping sauces, salad dressings, and cars at the event. I liked that the vendors could sell items on site. There was also live entertainment all day on Saturday. The Raleigh Studios lot restaurant was open during the event & the menu looked delicious! There were also TON of food trucks with all types of cuisine. The only thing that I would change is that the food wasn't included so you had to purchase it separately from the food trucks or the onsite restaurant (in addition to your admission ticket). Other than that, this event was a huge success!

This event is quiet fun. You get to learn new wine and products out there. It's like going to a trade show. The event was held at the Historic Raleigh Studios which is across the street from the famous Paramount Studio. So makes it really fun to go thru the lots of the studio as if you work there as a star. Be sure to come right on time or maybe a little early, otherwise you have to park in the streets even though the parking structure is near by. It can be a walk. It's fun with several food trucks that you can try new things. I am looking forward for next year's event.

Beautiful day at the wine festival

But Saturday was cool, Clover's grass was green, and the atmosphere was indeed festive. There were several options for free or metered parking in supervised lots within walking distance, making at least our vehicular arrival and departure quick and painless. After leaving the car, we made a beeline for the park's restrooms, where, as it typically happens whenever we step out to a fairground, we spent a considerable chunk of our visit waiting our turns in slow-moving lines. Plenty of music filled our ears while we waited, especially the notes coming from center stage, where a featured group, The Lions, sounded particularly captivating. We quietly joined standing watchers later on, just in time to see The Lions wrap up their soulful and energetic gig. Festival treats were also close at hand, so we couldn't miss tasting Linde's old-fashioned sugar roasted almonds. We followed our noses to her popular table where I impulsively grabbed us a couple of warm paper cones in a sweet twofer deal. Linde jokingly asked if we were unable to share, to which I honestly replied, "yes." It was a fair-tastic time. The usual apparel gifts and arts-and-craftsy things were available for passers-by to browse and purchase, and interactive activities engaged families, kids, and kids-at-heart. It seemed apparent to us after one walk-through that the city government was out to connect with and educate visitors in exchange for cheap swag and fun, with a number of public service kiosks that let you spin wheels and answer questions for prizes. We didn't get around to checking everything out (see Tess M.'s yelp here: http://bit.ly/11hmlqO for some neat things we missed), but all in all, the Festival was pleasant and low-key, which is pretty much Santa Monica in a nutshell.

Yeah, it adds up and it doesn't seem worth it, but if there's 8 of you in the car and split the tab, it isn't too bad. We came through on a Friday night. We opted for the VIP package and bypassed pretty much everyone (that line looked like a thousand miles long, so that alone threw all regrets, doubts and second thoughts out the window!) Bypassing the long line was one thing, but then my passengers' bladders decided to go in sync and in unison all needed a bathroom break BEFORE the drive. The VIP package came in handy once again - they have a separate set of porta-potties for VIP peeps, too! Needless to say, there were no lines there either. So, yeah, off to a good start. I didn't really know what to expect, so I decided not to expect too much. There were a lot of mixed reviews on Yelp (complaints were mostly about the cost) so I kept an open mind. THE VERDICT: Totally WORTH IT. This whole production was well put-together. It was beautifully created with a lot of imagination. The engineering and construction alone were astonishing, how long did it take them to put it all up! And I really liked that they coordinated all the lights' movements with the music coming off the assigned radio station (107.9.) And those souls braving the cold as they entertained us with their dance moves... KUDOS! (I didn't get to see what's in the VIP box but going by how each of my passengers went through it like the Tasmanian Devil, I'm gonna assume whatever was in there was fun!) If this is your thing, here are a few tips: 1) Entry is at Holly and Huntington NOT at the main entrance. If you do end up at the main entrance, they'll reroute you. No worries. 2) You can come through as early as 30 minutes before your scheduled time, but try to be there within that window just for the sake of being considerate. The whole thing is about 45 minutes to an hour, all depending on how slow or fast you go. 3) CLEAN YOUR WINDSHIELDS! I meant to, but I completely forgot. But even with the semi-dirty glass, it was still pretty good. 4) Sunroofs are great! I didn't have one (wouldn't have mattered if I did since I was the one behind the wheel) but I was sorta jealous of the peeps who made full use of it. I imagine that's the best way to experience it. 5) You are allowed to open your windows. Just watch out for fog machines... 6) Take your time and let it all sink in. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it, something cool to do social distancing style. It's an event for all ages and a great excuse to get out of the house more especially during these challenging times.

This year, parking was conveniently located the underground parking lot as the event for a flat $8/day, which is unheard of in DTLA. Stood in line to check in and get my free tote. Took an elevator to the floor where the event was being held. Somewhat of a super spreader event tho cuz it got really crowded, with rarely anyone wearing a mask.
