We visiting from overseas and are in town for only one night before flying to the South Island, and stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night. The place was pretty quiet, with only a few other guests dining, so it was a nice place to eat and recover from our long flight. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. We got the breaded calamari as an appetizer (nice big pieces, with a sweet chili sauce), a venison meat pie with yummy mashed potatoes, and the "kiwi burger", which was topped with bacon and egg, and a heaping of fries. All the food was delicious, and we walked out stuffed and happy! Highly recommended for travelers staying in the area.

From the chic decor to the smart uniforms and exemplary service, 46 & York is a welcome addition to the Auckland bar scene! Housed in a brick and weatherboard style villa with wooden floors and TWO outdoor areas, it was perfect for the wide range of ages at the party. What's more, they even let us bring in our own decks and said we could stay until 3am! I'm excited to go back and try this place on normal night out. Their street side seating gets a tonne of afternoon sun so it'd be a great spot for after work drinks on a hot summers night.

Strange as it may seem to have with a breakfast i ordered one of thier peach ciders as a drink. Now that was delicious.. Maybe because i like my ciders? The orders came out pretty quickly. Everything in my breakfast was cooked just i liked it. In a breakfast i really pay attention to the poached eggs , which i can be real finnicky about .These were cooked to perfection. The yolks not hard or even a little hard but soft and runny that the yolk ran out nicely ( if one can say it that way!). Everyone else was happy with thier meals and me having the biggest sweet tooth was the only one who chose a dessert. Though a simple one of a chocolate cake it went down well. So, anyway overall . On the food front no complaints. Particularly impressed with the poached eggs. Service was great, especially with the speed of and throughout the meal the girl coming by occasionally but not being overly intrusive to ask how things were. Price was as you would expect...so so, and the atmosphere was very good. Well worthy of a 100% rating!!
