It was covered with earth and then the vines returned to their original location. Its a beautiful design that can be partially viewed from the side through glass walls Nice wines. Below boutiqe production levels. So low I was surprised they had wine tastings. Nice guided tour 20E Great olive oil. We left with both wine and oil. Drank the wines in Spain and brought the oil home. The property was beautiful the hotel looked amazing. Highly recommended

In addition, the wine is delicious, and uniquely and beautifully packaged. However, few people stay at the farm house when they visit and they are really missing out. The house itself has been thoughtfully and masterfully updated and modernized and has many comforts including some of the most comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on in Europe, high thread-count sheets and pillows, super-plush towels, and beautiful bathtubs. Every detail is in good taste, the house is kept immaculately clean, and the staff is lovely from the groundskeepers, to the host, to the cleaning ladies. Breakfast was delicious and offered local products, some of which they produced themselves. There is a beautiful, and very private, pool to take a dip in at any time. And after breakfast we fed the Iberian pigs on the property breakfast scraps which was a lot of fun. Both the location and the woman managing the property, Lory, made our trip to Catalonia and the Costa Brava. We had such a great time hanging out and Lory's recommendations were incredible. The beaches she suggested were the cleanest, least touristy, and most picturesque I've ever been to in the Mediterranean, and I've been to some incredible beaches. She made reservations for us at incredible restaurants, places that were small, used food from their own gardens and local artisans, and off-the-radar spots no visitor could ever find on their own. Again, she made our stay there our most favorite place in our month long trip across Spain and France. Lory alone makes staying at Bell-Lloc more than worth it. Thank you Bell-Lloc for a wonderful experience.

So as a treat my gorgeous friends took me out to the Château l'Hospitalet for a little wine tasting. Yea me! Fergul; the Irish general manager with the French name (irony) was a delight and took me though the grapes, years, soil, region, seasons and of course bottles of plonk. I was completely rubbish and refused to spit out a drop claiming it was just wrong to waste such good wine. My poor form was completely acceptable and it seemed the team were used to such antic anyway. I was free to wander around the vineyard and the cellar and the whole experience is totally free of charge but of course it's curious to buy so wine, (which you'd be a fool not to) but there is no obligation. On the site there is also a charming hotel, restaurant and bar that offer jazz evening which in 2004 gave birth to an annual Jazz festival. I can not wait to return to sample the food and wine combo in the restaurant that has awarded la Château a place in Le Guide Michelin alone with with a number of other acclamations. The only down side for me is that I only came over with hand luggage so I couldn't buy any wine to bring home. Never mind, that'll learn me! So note to you reader check a bag!!

If you're planning on visiting Barcelona, I highly recommend that you make a wine tasting reservation here. Recaredo Winery is located in a historic Barcelona wine valley called The Penedes Wine Region. They are pioneers in biodynamic, viticulture, and is a step beyond organic farming. Their vineyards are handled with care by hand without the use of industrial machinery, chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or fungicides. They also use old-fashioned, traditional techniques of disgorgement when making wines. It's still done by true artisans, who expel the lees manually at the naturally cool temperatures of the cellars. What also makes their wines unique is the use of their grape juice (instead of using processed sugar) during the fermentation process. Recaredo's long-aged sparkling wines spend a minimum of 2.5 to 20 years in their dark cellars and are only aged with natural cork stoppers. Their dedication and commitment to their community, land, traditional techniques, and quality wines are what makes Recaredo's Corpinnat Sparkling Wines exceptional! I highly recommend a visit if you are staying in the Barcelona area.
