We went for dinner at Dia After Dark around 7:30, and easily found a spot. The space is bright and vibrant with plenty of creative seating, including a nook outfitted with a large screen television. Our server, Nicole, was sweet, helpful and attentive. For start we had the calamari and guacamole and chips. The spicy garlic aioli served with the calamari was incredibly flavorful. Definitely spicey, but not overwhelming so. The guacamole was fresh, made with nice sized pieces of tomato and onion, and avocados that were not overly smashed. For dinner, I had the Ceviche Flight, which showcased Salvadoran, Peruvian & Mexican style ceviches. The citrus and herb bases for all three were delightfully zesty, joined with tender seafood, crisp vegetables and firm avocados. I'd recommend eating tortilla chips in between dishes to help balance out the acidity. Dia has great food, great service and a lot of soul.

The matcha drink was sweet, creamy, and equally enjoyable. The café is spacious, with multiple rooms that offer plenty of comfortable seating, making it a great place to relax or hang out. The outdoor patio was clean and roomy, and the large garage door connecting it to the café created an open, airy atmosphere.

One of my favorite places to catch hookah and a tasty dish in Milwaukee area…read more It's tucked away quite snug right off the interstate, resting nicely between the bustling stop and go automobiles at the intersection of Howard and 76th. If you don't look, you might miss Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge. Especially during the daytime. But at night, they have neon lights that draw you in like a bug to a zapper under summer's stars. If you are drawn in, you won't be let down. Let's get something straight here -- this is a Hookah Bar. There isn't alcohol and there doesn't need to be. If you want to go somewhere for that, try using your Yelp app for "bars" with the little martini glass next to it. The interior of the place is much like a hookah bar in Cairo -- it's dimly light with a great ventilation system. There's an actual bar counter you can sit at and smoke. Ample amount of tables for seating and some rooms with couches and televisions if you'd like. For the TV's, they have Netflix, Spotify, Hulu and all the fixings like you're right at home. For the hookah, it's pretty unique if you want it to be. For the bowl (where the tobacco goes), you can get a hollowed out fruit -- apple, pineapple, watermelon, lemon and so on. Trust me, this makes it taste so much better. For tobacco, they have Starbuzz, Al-Fahker, Fumari and more (which are the traditional suppliers). You can mix flavors together if you wish. The smoke is smooth and quite flavorful, which creates the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing night with friends. For food, I've had the shawarma wrap before and their smoothie. It's good! The Turkish coffee is really good as well, and you can get it without sugar if that's your thing. It's really caffeinated and quite good. I'd recommend trying some coffee which sips great in between puffs of hookah.

We grabbed a PB Banana Crunch Flatbread to share since we just wanted a little something to eat while taking down smoothies. The flatbread was ok, nothing special. I think it would be better if the bananas were sliced thicker. You're dealing with cheap ingredients - if anything, the honey is the most expensive thing on there. You've got peanut butter, honey, bananas, and granola wedged in between flatbread. This thing is almost 7 dollars with tax, so I find it hard to justify the cost of this when you look at what the actual received product is. The smoothies were large and consisted of Mocha Madness and Peanut Butter Cup. I personally find it to be more expensive than it should be. I realize there's also a willingness to pay other retailers high costs for similar drinks that have far worse ingredients, so I do keep that in consideration. The place is small, and you can sit, but I would take items to go because it's not a very inviting place. There was one staff member that I found to be friendly, which was the person taking the orders and asking us if we had questions. The other people working there had different attitudes that weren't necessarily rude, but they also weren't necessarily friendly. No eye contact, no looking up to see if anyone really needed anything. They weren't really busy, so it wasn't because they were very hard at work. I guess I would work on making the place more inviting if it were me. While it was Ok, I find it difficult to come up with reasons to return.
