My mom and I went on her lunch break to get our nails done. We had never been here before so it was our first time. It wasn't very busy and the inside itself was nice and pleasant. There was a lot of space! The lady who did my nails suggested I try the dipped nail and i absolutely love it! I think she did a great job on my nails but I personally didn't like her vibes. I was there on Tuesday (1/19/21) around 3pm for an acrylic nail set and am thoroughly disappointed. I'm not is usually the type of person to complain and I'm hoping you can see my frustration. I spent $65 for a set and two are loose already. One has come off completely, taking part of my real nail with it. This resulted in quite a bit of pain. i have mixed feelings about La Vie, it is hit and miss. This time was a miss.. The man doing my acrylic fill was incredibly rough, many times i found myself clenching my jaw because of how rough he was being. Instead of asking me to move closer he yanked my hand multiple times and wasn't very friendly. I have a chip on my middle finger and my thumb nail is not even. I'm also very confused on prices because on the website a gel fill is only $25 and I paid $40 not including the tip that wasn't deserved. read more

Walked in and got CC to help me. I wanted a dip color for nails and regular color on toes. I read the reviews but decided to give the place a chance. I was very pleased with her work and she listened​ to me about the ​length and thickness of the dip. My mani/pedi did match in color, also. These things have been hard to get right at other nail ​salons. CC really cared and she was careful, patient and so accurate. My nails look natural and great. I will be back. Depending on my return tomorrow, my review may waver. I went in on a Saturday and it seemed busy enough. The salon was quite chic. I asked for an acrylic set and color. Easy enough? The technician was very friendly if not a little bossy in moving my arms around. I get to the checkout after everything and found out they gave me a gel set instead of acrylic. Apparently, their gel colors were mixed with their normal colors. As a broke college grad, the 10 bucks means a lot to me, but there wasn't much to do about it after the fact. I get home and in better lighting I see that the paint job was a little rough. The ends were fine, but at the end you can see spots where he missed or went over. I'm going back to see if I can get it fixed. If not, I'm staying away from this salon. read more

I don't know why so many people review this place poorly; my nails look great whenever I go! They use high quality gel polish and have a wide variety. I've never had to wait for service here. They're efficient, and I've always gotten great quality. Price is good, too. I get a gel manicure and basic pedicure for 63 dollars, which is lower than the 70 dollar average in Carmel. La Vie is by no means lavish, but it's definitely not a dump. It's also not a warm and fuzzy place, but I don't particularly enjoy chatting at the nail salon anyway. I would recommend! read more

Love getting my nails done here! Amy and her team has always come through with getting my nails done right. The only reason why I didn't give them a 5 star was because they are not upfront with their prices. I went in a few days ago for a gel manicure fill in and a new lady was doing my nails because Amy was out for the day , the lady ended up giving me acrylic nails (after telling her my set were gel) and then got mad at me for not "telling " her loud enough. Now remind you I am a very loud individual and never have issues til today :/ but it was all said and done because they were busy I'm not going to make her change things and keep flinging items around because they weren't focusing on the paying client they have in the chair . She proceeded to say that would be $60. That's outrageous for a fill in, I began to ask her why it was that much and she said that she had to takeoff my gel and fixing one of my other nails that was broken and it takes time to do such thing. Now we all know that $60 is no big deal but for a fill in mistake that she had made IS. Now I'm going to have to get them done again because they do NOT look good. Asked for coffin shape, and each nail is shaped different, and she decided herself that she would do one hand different than the other because " everything does not have to look the same." I knew better and went back anyway because it's so close to my home.I walked in and said I wanted a set of acrylic nails with regular polish. The guy said, no - you get gel polish. I asked if it was more and he said yes, $5 more. So I repeated I just want the regular polish and he walked off to his station. Chose my color and didn't know what to do because he just left me standing there. When he came back to get me, he seemed annoyed. We get started and he didn't touch my cuticles once. I asked him if he was going to trim/clean up my cuticles and he said no - that would be an extra $5! Really? I was not given any lotion or hand massage like most places I've ever been to. When I got home, I looked closely at my nails and discovered he neglected to clean out under my nails. Ok - that was just my guy! There were other women around with no customers. One was sitting in one of the pedicure chairs, all curled up, barefoot, playing on her phone. The other woman was also in a pedi chair and looked to be reading on her iPad. When i went to wash my hands, i saw a 3rd worker curled up on a sofa sleeping. The reason I mention that is because a customer came in, nobody acknowledged her for a few minutes, then barefoot lady asked her what she wanted. The customer said "a full set." Barefoot announces to the room "full set" and goes back to her phone. Never gets up, never says anything else to the customer. The poor customer is just standing there waiting for someone to say something to her! One a lady had finished with her client, she popped and took the new client back to her table and worked on her. The other 3 ladies continued doing nothing. The whole experience was maddening! Save your money and go somewhere else! The staff have no clue what customer service is at all! read more

I gave another guy a chance and two days later 4 nails were already breaking in the corner because he didn't put enough acrylic. Went in for dip mani and pedi. Based on these reviews, I asked pricing ahead of time. Surprised to be charged an extra $20 when time to pay. The woman indicated it was because she gave me a manicure (trimmed nails and cuticles) in addition to doing the dip. These were the fastest and sloppiest nail services I've ever had done. I could've asked my nine year old daughter to paint nails and they'd look better than this (and I'd still have my $96)! This place is horrible. I would never return. I entered shortly after 4pm on a weekday, there was only one other girl waiting. All I wanted was my nails painted (i had an event to go to and ran out of time to do it myself). I wanted fingers and toes both, but fingers are obviously more important. The lady said come back here, so I sit in the massage chair and she gets everything ready. She starts painting my toenails with the base coat. I didn't even think about turning the massage off at first, though it makes plenty of sense. So she snapped at me to turn it off, okay will do, sorry. She then starts going on about how she has an appointment and now doesn't have time for me, after already starting. So she finishes my toes, sets me down at one of the manicure stations and demands I pay her $10. I said, I would rather pay all at once. She starts yelling in the middle of the store that she doesn't have time to finish me, she has an appointment, I can come back later. I asked if anybody else could just paint my fingernails real fast. She said nobody could, everybody's too busy (there's only one person up front waiting). At this point her appointment is here, so the nail tech is getting very agitated. I had no problem waiting, that wasn't the issue. It's that she literally didn't want to just paint my nails. So she asks her appointment if she minds if she paints my nails real fast. Appointments says no, of course that's fine, it's no big deal. So the woman practically drags me over to her station. Demands i pay her $20 before she begins. Files my nails down so short they hurt, and painted 4 coats on my nails in about 4 minutes. Took forever to dry. Cracked immediately (thinking the polish was diluted). And the whole time she kept saying nobody wants to paint your nails, why don't you leave, I'm busy. (They weren't very busy). I'm assuming she was saying this because we she very rudely demanded the $20, I gave her just that. No tip yet. You earn that. I work in the service industry, I alway overtip. Had she been decently nice she would have received a $10 tip for simply painting my nails. So no, she didn't end up with a tip after saying those things to me. Really bummed because the location was convenient for me and the salon really is very cute inside. I had high hopes. They offer eyelash extensions for $39. I bought a Groupon thinking I was getting a good deal since they put that they are normally $80, which is a lie. They are as cheap as they cost. Actually, they look like I bought a $5 pair from Walmart and glued them on myself. On top of that while they are putting them on they make you keep your eyes OPEN the entire time. I had been hoping to try this place as I drive by pretty regularly. Came in for a pedicure after work. 5 women were seated at the chairs, only one of them was being worked on. I waited a little over 5 minutes to be acknowledged by the man working on her toes who said "what do you want" I responded with "a pedi" he said nothing and turned back around. I took a seat and waited for 20-30 minutes, still getting absolutely no feedback. I then realized he seemed to be working on the 5 women simultaneously. When I got to the counter to pay I figured she would give me a discount for making me bleed, instead she swiped my card for $100. I usually pay $65. She said it was because I got gel on my toes. She started arguing with me so I told her to forget it, I'll pay and I won't ever be back. Then her machine wouldn't give me a receipt. Claimed it didn't go through. I checked my bank, yes it did. She asked to TAKE A PICTURE OF MY CARD in case it didn't go through. I showed her my transaction history and she almost didn't let me leave because I wouldn't let her swipe again.
