The larger Mama Bear Community has been extremely welcoming and keeps the sense of community going strong even after the classes are completed. I like that there are often experts invited to answer questions or give advice and they are selected based on what each group is most interested in learning! It really helped me bond with my baby and I loved meeting other moms with babies in the same age range who I can still hang out with. This was my second baby, and I had tried a mom group with my first that was fine. I wanted something different and more personal this time around, something more focused on relationships that were authentic and real. I don't want the makeup and show that some moms put on - I wanted people who would keep it real, and Ashley did a great job of fostering this kind of environment. I also really enjoyed the speakers that Ashley brought in. Even though this wasn't my first time around the baby block, I still learned things every week. I would strongly recommend this group to anyone with a baby or a toddler.

I've met the most amazing women (first in the newborn class and then again in the infant class) and the friendships I've made are priceless. You'll learn so much that's specific to each week/stage, and trust me, there's nothing like having a group of moms whose babies are the exact same age as yours. If you're on the fence...just take a chance and get out of the house and do it!!! There's nothing else like this out there. Do it for the community, the learning, and most of all - for you!!!

My only regret is not taking the infant series! This class connected me with the most amazing support system when I needed it most and I still talk to those moms every day. The classes taught me so much and I left feeling a lot more confident as a mom. I experienced a lot of postpartum anxiety with my daughter and this class was what helped me most out of anything. I loved my experience so much I ended up bringing this to Las Vegas. Becca the owner, is such a lovely teacher and makes you feel so safe and comfortable. She is incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth, I felt very lucky to have her as my instructor. Definitely make this a part of your postpartum experience!

I've taken two of their mommy-and-baby class series, and I loved both of them. Each series includes special touches like each week is a different topica mini photoshoot, a swim party, and so much more, which makes it absolutely worth every penny. Carmen, who helped lead the group, is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always makes me feel heard. She gives thoughtful advice and truly cares about the moms and babies she works with. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. I've also attended several music classes with Michelle, and those have been some of my favorites. My daughter absolutely loves music time, and Michelle does such a great job keeping the kids engaged and entertained. We truly love The Mommy Center and are so grateful for everything they offer!!

Prior to class, we had a group WhatsApp which made it so easy to communicate and get introduced to each other. I love that the center organized mommy outings for us, planned family picnics, as well as provided professional photography. I was never stressed out when I was at the center, knowing that there's a diaper station with plenty of diapers in many sizes, formula in case mamas forget to bring sustenance for baby, bottle warmers, and everything we need to feel comfortable. It felt above and beyond. I highly recommend trying one of several classes they offer! I'm excited to continue onto their 4-6 month old sessions and try out the baby music class.

First, her classes are awesome - straightforward and so informational. Cassie has a ton of experience and she shares her wealth of knowledge in such a clear and concise way. But more importantly, she was a voice of calm as she was our night doula 3x a week for the first month of my twins' lives. The first week, she came during the day just to help me get settled. I think a core memory for me will be waking up (4 days PP) after the longest nap of my life to Cassie serving me my lactation tea and reminding me to pump. For weeks 2-4, she came 3 nights a week and took care of all of the night feedings. Not only did she take AMAZING care of the babies, she was always there to support me and my husband. She had wonderful advice for everything from which probiotic to use, to which bottles work best for our babies. I truly cannot recommend Cassie enough. She helped us start our parenthood journey off strong. By the time she had to move on to her next client, my husband and I felt well equipped to take on every night on our own.

My daughter also had some tummy issues that we weren't sure about and Cassie recommended we bring in a diaper to get it tested with our pediatrician and she ended up being diagnosed with a dairy allergy. I played the ACOA Adult Children of Alcoholics Role of The Lost Child (and a little bit of The Mascot, cuteness was always on my side, clowning, not exactly.) Dr. Bob definitely has a gift working with folks who are either/both the Alcohol Addict aka Alcoholic as well as the Family Members and now Adult Family members. If you're struggling with your weight, even to the point of Obesity (for such folks as might be looking at Chapman's Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery program), there is typically an emotional component and JUST dieting or doing WLS alone without also addressing the mental/emotional components with great therapy with someone terrifically experienced like Dr. Bob is only to equip yourself half way. I'd addressed them before for years and had done a tone of highly useful and effective personal work on these already with the 12 Step Programs and others, and found I now needed deeper work on another layer of the onion. How I Found Dr. Bob: My primary medical doctor, who is down the block from him, didn't cite him. His process was to refer me to a Psychiatrist who would then secondarily refer. The first Dr could not even see me. The second, based miles away from me, all the way across Orange County, himself couldn't see me for over 6 months and instead had an offer for me to see a Nurse (I don't remember her credentials title...). I made the appointment. At the time I had a physical exhaustion thing going on (for which I had originally been hospitalized) and couldn't drive myself across the county to the Dr.'s appointment. More than a week prior to the appointment, my OC Access privileges (van ride for the disabled 2 hrs before the appointment) hadn't kicked in yet, so I called to reschedule. More than a week before! And the receptionist gave me grief over it, that they could have scheduled others for the appointment. Then after she accepted my cancellation, telling her I needed to reschedule do to issues with my disability, she informed me that first time patients who canceled attempting to reschedule, the Dr. had the policy to refuse to take them then. I still need to report them for not accommodating my recognized disability, but I then was back to the drawing board. My primary care Dr. had no one else to whom to refer me, so I was stuck. However, I had been in and out of the ER at Chapman with the chronic bronchitis which Kindred Santa Ana had sent me home with no prescriptions to assist me, and at Chapman, they'd given me a print out of other services referrals. There was a Psychology category. Bob was in it and his office was less than 1 mile from home. I phoned and texted with him, and he got me into his office for a MUCH needed first session in under 1 week. SO much better than everywhere else where the staff was more concerned with business and nothing for being a HELPING service. Dr. Bob has always combined being very professional with his caring and therapeutic agility. While we were at it, a couples therapy issue also surfaced and is a recurring theme, and my partner was amendable to JUST ONE session with a therapist because he had formerly had some negative experiences with couples therapists who charged a ton and apparently didn't really listen. Well, Bob listens and it's obvious he does. My partner really liked him and in our session with him and some reflection on his part and then a new negotiation between us, we turned a corner. We still had months to work on it and live it out (the homework of life, right?). Bob really listens and reflects on what's going on with me (you) without trotting out anything too Psychology school specific (Freud, Jung, Gestalt, etc.). He's very easy to talk with and quite wise with a warm disposition. He drinks a small coffee as do I during my weekly session with him. So, you know he's also human! I highly recommend him to individuals and couples. He's terrific.
