I suppose it fell into the 48 hour "cancellation" . Frantic, we scurried to find a new tour, as a tapas tour was a highlight of our stay in Madrid. Not the best way to begin our Spain adventure. However, Emily responded within HOURS of my request for a tour during our stay. We made arrangements for a tour in two evenings. Emily took us to tapas locations off the beaten path and also great social, traditional locations. Emily chose locations that would serve pescetarian dishes, accommodating my dietary needs. We sampled amazing wine, but also fabulous beer and sangria. She was great to talk to and easy going, making the night light, enjoyable, and memorable. Emily went above and beyond the call of "tour guide". She emailed us great restaurant recommendations, directions, even a reminder about the Madrid marathon and possible road closures before and during our stay! Unbelievable! (And quite useful!) The irony- the other travelers scheduled on the tour that night had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. Emily still ran the tour for the two of us. Professional indeed! Initially we wanted to take the tour on a Sun but they didn't have availabilty so she added us to the Fri tour. Emily and Juan (co-tour guide) were very knowledgable about the various types of tapas, wine and cerveza that we enjoyed. They took us to multiple tapas bars and knew exactly what to order. Each bar had a special dish and we tried them all. Our first stop was a place that specializes in ham and fried egg "nachos"....need I say more? Absolutely delicious! We had a great tour group and interacted very well with each other and our tour guides. We still keep in touch with Emily and Juan to this day. Buena suerte amigos!

White linen cloths, well-laid tables and attentive and kind waitresses. If you're lucky, Pepe himself will take your order (probably with a cigar in the corner of his mouth). Yes, there IS a menu if you want to see it, but Pepe usually just asks you what you're up for. And then he brings the food. A lot of it, no matter if you've ordered tapas or a meal. The Manchego cheese is delicious, as well as the pimientos de Padron. And pretty much everything else. This is a place we visit every time when in Madrid. Oh, and if you're in the Vallecas neighborhood, make sure to take the bus/metro/walk up to metro Buenos Aires to find the bar "El Mirador", which offers the best view in Madrid!

The waiter offered a table top i couldn't fit there. Which was obvious he said I could have a table if I was done by 8:45 I said no thank you we will keep our terrace reservation. My wife's food was under cooked I enjoyed my meal everything was fine until the waiter asked us to move tables at our outside reservation because you had a party of 14 coming. That's when I asked for the manager who didn't speak English. Although you claimed in your Google reply that he offered me accommodations. A very nice young man translated for me who works for you. He not the manager apologized that I had a traumatic experience and I left with your manager saying nothing just standing there looking at me. This review is not to cause harm to your business but to help you to correct an experience that a patron had. I read some of your responses and I've noticed a lack of accountability. I was polite Although no efforts were made by your staff to bridge the language barrier. Hire dual lingual staff. Establish a culture of accountability and listen before you respond. The restaurant has a modern, clean setting, and the waitstaff was patient with us as we tried to decide and order our dishes. We started with the ensalada of guacamole and shrimp "tartar"--on a round bed of mashed avocado sat little pieces of shrimp, which simply bursted with flavor! There was also a creamy dressing on the dish that brought together the creaminess of the avocado with the bright flavors of the seafood. Next, we had the "false risotto" with little chopped up pieces of shrimp, squid, and plankton--the dish was warming and delicious with deep seafood flavors (better than the tourist paella found all over Madrid), though the rice seemed a little bit underdone to me. Both of these were great dishes, and great discoveries, though they were a little bit pricey for the relatively small portion sizes.
