One of the "picadas" of the Vega Chica is by far that of Tia Ruth. If you are looking for an excellent taste of Chile that doesn't hurt your wallet, this is the place!
The quality and simplicity of these dishes make Tia Ruth's stand out from the other offerings in the Vega Chica. Although, you must keep in mind this is a true whole in the wall, kind of dingy (with cats and all) but it is all part of the experience!
This small restaurant has great service where the waiters always make you feel welcome (plus, they will let you know what is best to order that day...if something isn't as fresh they will be honest). They always have menus with a starter of soup and salad, juice and bread and pebre!
If you are a vegetarian, this is not the place for you, but if you eat meat there are tons of different options. I suggest ordering the mechada or costillar (perfect if you are struggling from last night's carrete)! Also, can't go without mentioning the fried fish with rice - yum! read more
