Friendly, helpful, excellent inventory of unique and local items. Not pushy. A bit of negotiation over price. But reasonable.

We have been to Cabo San Lucas many times. We have not found a jewelry store with the quality service or fair pricing as we have found at La Turquesa. Where do I start!!! Carlos' brother greeted us outside the store and brought us in to meet Carlos with the warmest hospitality! We were sweating so much from the heat- they immediately brought out cold water for us & our children. I was awestruck by everything in the store! I settled on this green turquoise ring. The quality is amazing! He weighed the ring to price it- which you know, shows the quality. I was given two bags to protect the ring. Upon leaving, he asked me to pick out 3 mini leather handbags for each of my girls. Just because. If I'm ever down here again I will def be back to La Turquesa!!! read more

Bought a fire opal and silver necklace for my dame. Got earrings for my girls and Carlos rocked it throwing in a shark tooth for my young son Ben. It was cool meeting the shop owner and his two younger crew prolly his kiddos or close relatives and they served us some almond tequila which was a unique perk. I found them on Yelp and like the area for artisanal stuff rather than buying from a shop at hotel or local time share where we stayed liked Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach which has nice qualities, I love listening to waves but the markup is way higher and why not share the feria with the local business owner hustling for his family. This is long overdue, but I was here last June. They welcomed us with warmth and free beverages and were patient with my terrible Spanish (though they also spoke English, which was helpful). I bought a beautiful turquoise ring here that will always remind me of Cabo. Would recommend this place if you're looking for a gift or souvenir. read more

We had the pleasure of visiting La Turquesa and after browsing many other stores, returned to purchase several items. In addition to having a lovely selection of quality merchandise, the owner, Carlos Sotelo was very hospitable and reasonable in his pricing. I saw this place on Yelp and it looked fun. I saw a painting I liked and we went to the store. They did not have that one, but many others, however none I really fell in love with. The owner was nice, and said the artist could paint the same picture for me, and they would mail it. I felt pressure to purchase, and was reluctant to purchase art I never saw, but gave in and ordered it as the store was closing. I regretted it shortly after, and went back as soon as they opened to cancel the order. The nice store owner I met the night before was no longer nice. He was angry, told me he could not credit my charge, that it did not work that way in Mexico--the charge cards. This made no sense as I have a business and use credit cards and the charge can easily be credited with one transaction. He also said it would now cost him a "service charge" to cancel it, and the bank would charge him $79. He kept going on and on about the service charge I was costing him, expecting me to pay him that amount. I nicely explained that my bank would not do that, but he insisted he would be charged. I told him I would call and take care of it. He was very rude and it was an awful experience. I called my credit card company, and as expected, they said they never add a service fee, even if the charge is disputed, which is what I had to do because he refused to credit the transaction. So after all that I was credited, and he lost a customer, as he could have just been nice about it and cancelled the transaction, since there was not even time to contact the artist to place the order. What a total scam. Makes me sad because I truly thought this could be a place I would come back to but I would not set foot in there or ever recommend it. Based on his behavior I would not trust anything he says. Unfortunate. read more

Such a great find! I stopped in and was in a rush to a dinner, but was looking for a birthday gift. The owner and his brother were there and left me alone (unlike the hounds at many other stores) to shop and look around. I then liked a very unique art piece and asked to have a better price. They didn't negotiate far down, which made me appreciate the original local artist's piece enough to buy another piece. Great experience and they read my body language and rushed to get the transaction done and get me out the door. Cute find! read more
