beef carpaccio

As a part of all inclusive package, we chose to dine here one night. Appetizers were better than the main course for us. Beef carpaccio: not bad Pizza: not bad Appetizers: Prosciutto with cheese, bruschetta: Pretty good, I'd only go for appetizers if I came here again.

Ok pasta. The octopus and fish appetizer are really good. I'd recommend ordering them. The gnocchi is just ok, not hat great. The cape was salad was very good. Calamari had way too much breading! Mussels were not good, tasty really fishy and weren't that flavorful.

This is an Italian restaurant inside the Royal Resort hotel on playa Linda, Cancún. We decided to try it out because it is apart of our all inclusive dining options at this resort. We are a family of nine so we ordered a bunch of different things off of their menu. To start we had calamari and steak caprese. The calamari was flavorless and came with 9 huge pieces. However, my husband really enjoyed their steak caprese, which had thin slices of steak topped balsamic vinegar and a large slice of Parmesan cheese, it also included a mixed arugula salad. My kids ordered chicken parmigiana, pepperoni pizza, chicken fettuccine and spaghetti with tomato sauce. It all looked great. A heads up that the chicken parmigiana was huge for a kid portion and if you have a kid that doesn't eat a lot I suggest having two kids split the dish. My teens ordered their calzones. My husband and I tried their garlic soup it was good. For the main course I ordered gnocchi with lobster sauce and grilled chicken. It was terrible! The gnocchi were very condense and undercooked. So I ended up getting their Tuscan chicken which was a boneless chicken thigh with a wild mushroom sauce on top with a scoop of mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. That was for me the star of the night. To top everything off we treated ourselves to some tiramisu, it was very delicious. The service was great.

Bruschetta and Octopus

For an all inclusive resort, I didn't have that high of an expectation for the food. However, this restaurant was mediocre and I would give it 2.5 stars. First the food: Octopus: (1.5/5) The meat itself was good but it was way too acidic and physically hurt while eating. Bruschetta: (3/5) Flavors were almost there but could use some more seasoning. The one issue I had was that the bread was on the soggy side and not as crispy as expected. Allá scoglio (?) Seafood Pasta: (3.5/5) The seafood itself was flavored very nicely but there was a strange taste to the spaghetti noodles themselves. It had that taste usually baked goods straight out of the oven have. Panna Cotta: (2.5/5) I absolutely love Panna cotta so I was pretty disappointed that the dessert I ordered didn't have its thick, creamy consistency. In fact, the dessert was too airy and seemed whipped and the berry filing was strange. Service was very slow, but overall the restaurant did the best of their capabilites.

We (2 persons) were sat at the same time as a four top and it took us twice as long to get our drinks and food. The calamari had a fishy taste. The pasta took almost 45 minutes and did not taste like it was freshly made. While the servers were kind, the service was incredibly slow for an empty restaurant. The atmosphere was chill and enjoyed the views in a rainstorm.

I wish the dish was a little larger (3.8/5) Mains- 1) 4 cheese pizza - that was the weakest item in the entire meal - small and not crispy, felt like a 9 year old prepared it (2/5) 2) mushroom risotto was pretty good . Flavourful and rich . 3,8/5 We also got some house bread that was fantastic with some olive oil , and some home made limioncello as dejastif. Drinks were good with nice selection and reasonable prices It was quite expensive and we'll probably not return again

It is one of my favorite restaurants in the hotel zone and some the best Italian I have eaten. We had a group of 10 and were seated in a private room. The service is top notch. Everyone is so helpful and kind. They have an extensive wine list that is sure to satisfy any craving. Before dinner, they bring bread with cheese and spicy onions and peppers that is delicious. My personal favorite meal is the green hats, but I really don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything they serve is the perfect balance of flavors. Everyone in our group loves their meal which is why this place continues to be a staple for us year after year. I look forward to coming back to Cancun just to eat at the restaurant. Our time and money is always well spent here and we have always had a wonderful time and incredible food. We do not do all inclusive, but even if you do, I would still recommend making a stop here.

With its all glass walls, the space was elegant and inviting. The kitchen was all glass so you can see the chefs preparing the food. We didn't have reservations, but the hostess found us a great table. Our main server was Alejandro and he was more than helpful in making sure we ordered what we wanted. With Italian food, I also prefer very good Italian wine versus a cocktail. He pointed me to 2 red wines that were bold and heavy as I requested. Both were just OK, but expensive. Wines by the bottle was ridiculously high. Regardless, he was great in steering me to the type of dishes more suited to what I was asking for and not just the most expensive. This restaurant has been highly recommended by my brother and sister in law for years. They had told us it was one of the best Italian food they have had anywhere. But, In its previous location, it just looked a bit stuffy for a CANCÚN vacation meal. At its new location, though it was still upscale, it seemed more approachable to us somehow. We just came back from a 10 day vacation at the Amalfi coast, and Rome, Italy. We found the pastas at Cenacolo to be comparable if not better. We had bruschetta, Ragu spaghetti, lasagna, and their chocolate soufflé. We had read that the soufflé was outstanding so we ordered 2. We were NOT disappointed with any of the food items.
