The pizzas are always great. Last time I had the saltimbocca, which was good.... Nothing fancy and not that memorable, but good. Huge plus that they have a lot of wines from the Piemonte district and the cannonau wine from Sardegna. Kind and efficient staff and fair prices.

With one cafe right next door to the other, and their massive outdoor seating areas blending together, it is hard to tell where one stops and another begins. Unlike the somewhat ambiguous café-style cuisines of most of the other places, Grappa has chosen a clear route: up-scale Italian. And they do this quite well. Their pizzas are good, expect high-end ingredients and a lovely thin, Naples-style crust, though not quite soggy enough in the center to really be a true Naples pizza (probably to cater to most non-Italians, who would describe this style as "undercooked"). The pizzas are not cheap, with a simple Margarita coming in at well over 100 DKK. Their other dishes are equally well-made, and are variations on Italian classics, such as risotto and pasta carbonara. One thing I really appreciate at this place, is that they offer all of their pizzas and pasta dishes in a smaller, child-friendly size, and with appropriate tweaks to the recipe to make them OK for kids, rather than having an actual children's menu. Most places that have that, typically fill it with pretty boring stuff (nuggets and fries, anyone?), and if you have a food-loving kid, that's a bum rap. The service here is probably the main drawback. They come off as busy, sure, but also a bit full of themselves, you don't really feel that you're appreciated as a guest. So expect good food, but also a large, crowded place, where you're a bit just one guest out of many and is treated as such.

Halibut was absolutely lovely, though the butter sauce was so rich. Salad was delightful. Dessert was sweet and petite-just lovely. Cacio e pepe had homemade pasta and was quite tasty. I chose the "I'll have it all!" option and settled in for a 4 course meal with wine pairings. Considering that the Michelin folks gave the restaurant 1 star, I was expecting some fireworks for my tastebuds. With the prosecco there were some snacks. Although the bruschetta was quite good, the best was the kale package with puffed pork. Their homemade bread was accompanied by a plate of butter topped with olive oil and buttermilk. Odd pairing, but the slightly sour buttermilk worked well. First course with a rose... codfish cheeks buried in wild garlic and creme fresh (it was so thick though, that it tasted like cream cheese ), topped with loads of lumpfish roe (no complaints there!). Second course, celery cubes and gooseberries with smoked egg yolk (very rich and the star of the plate!), topped with a wafer made with roasted macadamia nuts. Forgot the wine selection but it was a heavier white than the first. Third course, the main. Witch flounder with leeks and carrots covered by sauce nege. The flounder was perfectly crispy on the outside and chunky moist on the inside. My first bite, unfortunately, had me wincing from a way too salty crunch. The rest of the fish was wonderful. Served with a Spanish white made from godello grapes. Dessert course with a way too sweet apple wine (only one I didn't finish). Almost like a terrine of white chocolate and blood oranges, topped with pecans and blood orange meringue and served next to, what else, blood orange granita. The espresso at the end was perfect and I was ready for bed. While it was a great taste experience overall, some of the miscues left me a bit wanting. I think a 4.5 stars would be more representative of my experience. It's a Michelin star restaurant. Bring up your expectations and get ready to spend accordingly.
