#1 attraction in Paris. Definitely a must see. Whether you go up or get some amazing photo outside. Always a good Pic with an amazing background.
How can you come to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower... I mean so cool. I really don't understand why you're looking at reviews for this place honestly, it's just somewhere you just have to go see while you're here. To put it most generally it's a big monument that looks like a caged tower and it sparkles at night!
Overview: a classic, must-see landmark in Paris ---- Very beautiful landmark and prettier if you see it light up at night. The tower only sparkles when it's dark enough outside to see it. When it's the spring/summer the sun sets very late at night so when I was there, the Eiffel Tower first sparkled at 10pm! We didn't know that, so we arrived around 8pm and waited 2 hours. It then started to rain and we shared one umbrella between 4 people. There are lots of people walking around trying to sell you stuff can be very annoying especially if you came there early and they keep asking you. They walk around with small trinkets, some with drinks like wine, blankets, and even umbrellas when it started to rain. There are lots of people on the grassy field in front of the tower having picnics and waiting for the tower to light up as well. The walk from the metro wasn't too long, but also wasn't that short, but it's Paris so be prepared to walk for everything! It beautiful and was worth the walking, waiting, and being rained on. ---- Overall: beautifully lit up at the beginning of the hour after the sun goes down, for us it was at 10pm! Be prepared to walk and wait, enjoy the views and atmosphere with others waiting to see the pretty lights
Landmark in Paris, France... I've visited this famous piece of architecture a few times before I knew about Yelp. Back in 2000, I was here with my former co-worker. She didn't want to visit because there was a bomb threat. I told her that it's just a threat. How many miles and hours did we fly to just stay in the hotel room? She ended up walking outside with me... LOL! Our friend dropped us off this time to just get photos. He and his wife drove around the block and picked us up in-between stops. Parking is quite the challenge here! Be on your best behavior... some guards with guns marched past us!
THE GOOD ---------------- + SPECTACULAR and breath-taking 360 degree view of the entireeeeeee city of Paris! No part of Paris is unseen from here. + Different options for visiting the tower - (1) visit the base for free (2) pay to take the lift/walk up to the 2nd floor (3) pay to take the lift allllllll the way to the top - BUT, EVERYONE needs to go through the security checkpoint. No exceptions. + Worth every penny to visit the top of the tower to view the city! Don't just take photos outside or in front of the tower. Go for the full experience! THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - If you have accessibility needs or have a stroller, unfortunately, you will need to go up some steps before you reach the elevators to take you further up the tower. Not a lot steps, but definitely a few staircases. - If you buy tickets the day of your visit, waits can reach 1-2 hours, so try to buy them beforehand if you can! MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------- = As expected, it gets busy on the different levels, especially the higher ones, but it's not THAT bad. It's typical tourist attraction crowds.
I had a 3 pm reserved ticket To The Top and arrived 30 minutes early. I'm glad I did because they were running behind schedule. Once On Top I was almost 1,000 feet above ground and the views were dramatic. One level is fully enclosed behind large windows and the level above is open air with large metal screens for protection. That day the wind was calm so it was very pleasant to be on that level. On the open air level you can buy a glass of champagne and macarons to celebrate if you wish. Above you the tower rises for about another 100 feet for radio antennas, etc. It costs extra to go To The Top and it is worth it. If you do, go there first and then work your way down to the 2nd and then 1st levels. You can only access The Top by elevator. The 2nd level (400 feet) and 1st level (200 feet) are accessible by elevator and stairway. Remember it's much easier going downhill than uphill. By the way, the stairs are open air but enclosed with metal screens making it impossible for you to fall off. If you are on the 1st level and want to exit it is faster to do so by stairs rather than waiting on the elevator. There are upscale restaurants on the 1st and 2nd levels and there are chairs that you can sit on and enjoy the view. Actually, the famous French landmarks are better seen from the 2nd level than The Top. There are 2 Metro stations within less than 10 minute walking distance to the Tower so getting here is easy. It amazes me that this HUGE landmark was originally designed to be a temporary structure only, They were suppose to take it down but decided it was too popular.
I can't believe I'm finally standing in front of the Eiffel Tower! It's just as beautiful as I imagined it! And apparently at night they have it all lit up!
I could not let my first trip to Paris go by without visiting the Eiffel Tower. I mean, it's a structure that is engrained in history and pop culture, and synonymous with the city of Paris. That being said, I decided to research the different types of visits that the tower offered and plan my visit. The tower offers several ways to climb it - tickets are available to either the first/second floor as well at the summit. If you choose the former, you can then choose to climb it via stairs or lift; if you choose to go to the summit then a lift is your only option. Tickets sell out rather quickly online, but you can also try to purchase them in person. Nevertheless, I don't like leaving things up to chance so I purchased what was available to me online - tickets to the first/second floor via stairs. It's about 600 or so stairs to make it to the second floor of the tower. Along the way, there's a stop on the first floor where you can take pictures; there's also some seating areas as well as a cafe. The second floor repeats this, though there is also a gift shop here. They also have fun facts about the tower scattered throughout as well as plenty of view points. Personally, I thought the views from the first/second floor were high enough - I was snapping away. As far as the tower itself, it's definitely a sight to see in person - massive and intricately structured, I found myself just staring at it multiple times. My only regret (if you can call it) is not seeing at night up close, this is definitely something I would want to do my next time in Paris. Overall though, the Eiffel Tower is definitely worth checking out at least one during your Paris adventures.
La Tour Eiffel or the Eiffel Tower is one of the most landmarks in the world, and it is truly an iconic symbol of the French city line. When you're close to the tower, the photos aren't as beautiful as when you take a photo with the tower in the background. A few spots that are great to take photos with the Eiffel tower is from Trocadero or the bridge at Pont D'Iena for a straight short or at the bridge at Pont De l'Alma for a diagonal shot. We got to enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower on multiple occasions as we explored the city. We witness its' charm from the day light hours and at night. We discovered that the tower sparkles at night on the hour for 5 minutes. One night we noticed it sparkled from 9:00-9:05pm and then our theory was confirmed when we saw it sparkle again from 11:00-11:05pm. What a treat! I recommend making time to visit both during the morning and at night. The Eiffel Tower is stunning and I feel like the day and the night has different charms to it.
Wow The Eiffel Tower is amazing but to see it in person is just incredible. It is even more amazing in person and fascinating as well. The tower was completed in 1889. There were many who were opposed of it being built but now the tower is adored. We purchased ticket hubby and I to the Summer which is the very top and we were just amazed at the beauty of the tower and of Spain ! Now it does get very crowded and you do get a bit crammed but otherwise anyone visiting Paris must come see the Eiffel Tower
When in Paris, you must visit the Eiffel Tower, both during the daytime and at night! The structure is massive close-up! At night if you take a boat ride along the Seine River, you'll get to see the tower pretty close-up and brightly lit. It's quite mesmerizing.
Is it touristy? Yes. Is it crowded? Yes. Is it worth it? YES!!!! My 4th time being in Paris and still love seeing this beautiful metal art piece. During the day... it's magnificent. During the night... ohhhh it's spectacular! I didn't go up this time, went in 2015... the view is beautiful but you do get better city view from Galleries de Lafayette rooftop. You can see the Eiffel Tower from plenty of hotels... so be sure to time it right... and watch the sparkle at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm... it only sparkles for 5 minutes... so be ready!
As sad as it is, whenever I think about the Eiffel tower I can't help but think about Franz Reichelt. He was a French tailor and inventor and in 1912 he jumped off the first platform of the Eiffel to test a homemade, wearable parachute. You can imagine how that went. However, I have the utmost respect for Franz. You can't knock the hustle. Bro was really about that life and had an unparalleled self belief, rivaled only by Vegeta. A moment of silence for big Franz please.............................. My gf and I came to the Eiffel Tower, not to jump off, but with a baguette and a bottle of red wine like the good little tourists we are. I was draped in a red beret and a 80% cashmere scarf that I had picked up from a tourist stand nearby for 8 euro. It was at this moment I realized that if I ever needed to go into the witness protection program I could blend in out here pretty easily... We drank our wine and ripped into the baguette, and had a nice little moment. It's nice to just press pause every now and then and appreciate moments. My girlfriend ended up keeping this cork, attached a magnet to it, and hung it on the fridge. Beast... gonna start keeping corks like this from all major life events and moments. I sat there, half a bottle of red wine deep, thinking "damn bro really jumped off that and thought he would be good... talk about betting on yourself. He has all my respect." RIP FRANZ! One of the best birthday experiences ever! Woke up in Paris, France and did the tour of Paris! It was an awesome. The tour was guided (via earphones that were provided by the bus company), very interesting and educational. We were able to take very good pictures as well. The traffic was crazy and the way they drive made me glad I was on the bus! Needless to say, what woman doesn't want to say Paris was her birthday trip!! read more
The view on top is freaking amazing! I deducted a star because of the wait. The line is crazy; be prepare to wait around for 2-3 hours. The struggle is real in this one. Advice is to book the express lane early before coming ... like a few months early so you don't have to wait in line. Also, don't buy those shitty 5 for $1 eiffel replica. read more

If you asked me that which landscape of Paris impressed me most, I have to say Eiffel Tower in a heart beat. The experience of ET really is a highlight of my trip of France. I was awed by the majesty of his historical architecture. Entire ET will sparkling on the hour, the feeling of being in front of ET is understatement. You can see couples kissing under the tower which is the most romantic spot in the world. To book your ticket online or ticket office in advance and choose a time slot you prefer. To go to the top of Effie Tower which commands a splendid view of France. read more

A must see when in the city, beware of pick pockets... got our Ralph Lauren Umbrella stolen while we were there. Restaurant has good food. But elevator door wont open on our way down. This place probably needs a lot of work and how they cant control the pick pockets boggles my mind. read more

You want the truth? I don't really like Paris. It's just not my kind of city. However, I can and do appreciate the Eiffel Tower and visit it every time I'm in town. I also spent the best New Years to date at the Eiffel Tower with a bunch of random strangers. The entire structure is impressive and is quite elegant. Even if you don't go up the tower, you can still appreciate the views from the surrounding parks. There's a little crepe shop nearby in the park where a man by the name of Nicola works so I suggest you get yourself a ham and cheese and chill with the birds while taking in the sights. read more

This certainly is a larger than life architecture. I have been to Paris several times in the past ten years, but I have to admit that I have yet to go up to the top. The next time im in Paris, I will make sure to see Paris from the top! read more

Had a great experience! It was very organized! We went through security where they checked all of our bags. I was happy to see them thoroughly check bags and remove any objects that could be used as weapons. We went to the second floor to the restaurant for lunch. We were with a tour so we didn't wait to be seated. The meal was actually good as was the champagne. Definitely dress in layers. I went In September. It was a sunny day but the wind was disrespectful at times. The gift shop had lots of cute items and the staff was very friendly. read more

The review receives 4 stars for the unparalleled views only. The line was awful, the people are rude and there were far too many people smoking. Ugh. The scam artists are everywhere with their stupid little clipboards. We arrived to stand in line for two hours. The line to take the elevator back down was 40 minutes. But the sunset was magical and the sparkle of the lights turning on at 6pm was lovely. read more
Simply breathtaking. I do no think we went all the way up, I think we stopped halfway BUT even then the views were awesome. You just get lost with your thoughts and enjoy life. The lines were not that big as some people were saying. They have multiple time frames where you can buy tickets for and even in advance to secure your spot. **Ohh and you must buy one of their baguette/hot dogs and eat it right under the tower** read more
La Tour Eiffel. The Eiffel Tower to most Americans. It is a sight to behold. I usually don't do a lot of "touristy" things when I travel but I was actually excited to see the Eiffel Tower. It didn't disappoint. It was spectacular to see in person. Its interesting too because it's smaller than what I'd thought it'd be. I thought you'd be able to see it from anywhere in Paris and you actually can't. You basically need to be on that side of Paris before you see it. With that being said....go to that side of Paris and see it! Yes it for proposals...people in love....romantics...and all that good jazz. But it's also for families, girls trips, folks by themselves or whoever! I was glad I saw it and I think you will be too! read more

Went to the Eiffel Tower today and decided to walk up to second level. Please if you plan on going to the top, BOOK IN ADVANCE! (Especially if you're gonna ride the lift straight up there) I got there around 9:30 ish AM and there wasn't a long line to get tickets for walking up the tower and the line for the lift was LONG! Extremely long. Stretched out pretty far. Walking up the tower really isn't all that bad, took me less than 10 minutes to walk up to the first level and then 8 minutes to walk up to second. I then took a lift up to the summit which is the highest point of the tower and it's worth it FYI! It's extremely windy and breathtaking up at the summit (look at my pics for reference) and although the second level is tall too, it doesn't compare to what you see at the highest of the highest. Really recommend it. --- Street selling: - There's a lot of these street sellers selling all these Eiffel Tower keychains and souvenirs for the low. There's so much competition since they're all surrounded around the same area, but please do watch for pick pocketers. Pretty sure I saw a guy get pickpocketed today while this man showed him a magic trick (DONT FALL FOR IT!!!) Although I didn't purchase from them, I kinda wish I did. I went to a souvenir store and they were charging much more for the Eiffel Tower keychains, but I just bought it anyways. As long as you're careful around your surroundings, you should be fine. read more
The Eiffel Tower was amazing! We bought our tickets online and avoided the wait. Took the lift up, had Champagne at the top of the Tower. Looked out over the entire city of Paris. Took so many pictures! Beware! There are pick pockets there just waiting for an opportunity while you are distracted taking pictures. We waited for sunset, when the Tower lights up, and then every hour on the hour, the twinkle lights come in for 5 minutes. It was a spectacular sight to see! read more

Aifel tower, this is my second time on the tower and i was shocked like i was first time. We spend 3 hours in tower it was amazing. I couldn't believe that was existing one man like Aifel which created tower like this in the history. What will happen or what will he created if he was existing in this century ??? Just one word....amazing. read more
Everyone has seen the Eiffel Tower in pictures and in movies, but it is even more breathtaking in real life. From a size standpoint, it was so much larger than I had ever be able to envision. The view from the top was surreal. It is like looking down from a plane it is so high up. It may sound cliché and touristy, but if you have never been you must visit the very top. When you do visit remember a few things though. First, book your ticket online. If not you will wait for two hours to get a ticket then another two to actually get to the top. Second, they won't let you in before your alloted time, so don't even try to show up too early. Third, seriously don't show up too early because aside from the fact they won't let you in the grounds are filled with dodgy gypsy types trying to sell you all sorts of crap along with beggars and people pretending to be deaf to get you to give them money. We got there 20 minutes early and I swear they hounded us and everyone else constantly, like literally one would walk away and another would be on top of us. read more

Ever since I watched Sex and the City and heard Carrie Bradshaw's old Russian ballet beau describe the Eiffel Tower as the structure with the "silly lights", and ever since I heard the historical story of how the United States and France were competing against each other - large carousel versus Eiffel Tower, my desire to see the Eiffel Tower diminished. However, given that the Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic things in the world, when in Paris - you go to the Eiffel Tower. I must say, it did not disappoint! RESERVATIONS I highly recommend that you PRE-BOOK...and when you pre-book, get there BEFORE your scheduled time. This will give you a higher chance of being able to go straight through as they book a good crowd at the same time slot. I do not know how long the lines are for the stairs or how doable the climb is, I found the elevator to be very convenient. VIEWS Unbelievably, undeniably AMAZING!!! When you first get off the elevator, you are let off around the base of the neck of the tower. You can see the city from a variety of angles, including the Siene River. The views are nice, peaceful, and gorgeous! You have the option of either going back down or going all the way to the top. I opted to go back down, as the line to the top seemed slow - although not exceedingly long (I came in with the 11:00 am group). THE TOWER It is more beautiful in person. If you have any appreciation for architecture, you'd find the Eiffel Tower rather breathtaking. If you do not have a love for architecture, perhaps a visit will allow you to develop one. There are so many great places to catch and photograph the tower. The best is on the lawn. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. FOOD NEARBY If the weather is nice, opt to have a picnic on the lawn. I ordered food from parispicnic.com - they deliver a picnic basket right to you including champagne and you can also select a photographer to do a mini photoshoot. As I understand, there are many other companies that offer the same service for a pretty fair price. If you don't want to eat on the lawn, as it's too crowded, you can head over to Trocadéro Gardens (Avenue des Nations Unies and Rue le Notre). It is about a block up from the front of the Tower, pass the River Siene, and has great lawn space. On your way there, you'll pass the Eiffel Tower Trocadéro Fountains. They weren't turned on during my visit, perhaps you'll have better luck. OVERALL EXPERIENCE A must see, great views of Paris, a great day spent outdoors, have a picnic, bring your good camera, pre-book ticket for early time slot, get there before your scheduled time read more

The views from the top of the Eiffel Tower were absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits. Buy tickets to the very top you will not Be disappointed a little wind whipped but worth it! read more
Too amazing for words. Plan ahead and book a tour and dinner. It's so worth it if you go that far to see it. The river boat tour at night was amazing too. Ignore the pan handlers that hang around . There are tons of shops near by with similar items. The dock near the base of the tower is a cool place to eat and hang out. The dock is also a great location to get in a workout (tons of stairs and great for jogging) read more

Aaah, the Eiffel Tower. Go here early in the morning when it first opens. There is one "leg" of the tower that has a smaller elevator and the stairs, but you mostly see that it has stairs. Taking the stairs all the way up to the second level was easy. If you have any level of fitness you'll be fine to do it, and in my opinion it is a much nicer experience than taking the elevator which I had done about 25 years ago. Walking up the stairs means you slowly ascent, and you really look around the city as you go. read more
Pros: Superb views of the City of Love. Very romantic. A bucket list must-have. Cons: You will be mauled by crowds of ravening tourists intent on getting everywhere in a hurry as if there is a fire. Politeness is usually met with primal desire to take advantage and barge over you. Most usual reaction in a crowded situation, I suppose. Prices for anything are astronomical. I think, my husband and I had the most expensive two cups of 'hot' cocoa under the Tower (quality-to-price ratio). And we have been around the world - and in some expensive places. To date, these two cups still take the cake. Overall: Go, it's more than worth it. Take a bike tour around the center. Weather permitting (or not), this will be a very romantic trip. read more

An iconic landmark that you can catch glimpses of all throughout Paris so of course how can you not visit once in the city?! We came back a few times during our stay in Paris. Our first visit was to go up the tower, we made reservations for lunch at the restaurant in the tower to avoid the line. This ended up working splendidly, although it was raining and there was a very long line of tourists waiting to go up we were able to skip the line and head right on up to lunch with a view and away from the rain! We enjoyed the signs from in the tower as much as we enjoyed the sights around the tower. We also came back on sunnier days to enjoy a picnic in the gardens underneath the tower which was extremely enjoyable and something that I would highly recommend. read more

One of my and mostly everyone top places to visit on their bucket list. Let me tell you first how I was at awe when I first saw the Eiffel Tower it was just how I thought it would be, tall and standing pretty. It's surrounded by a park and you can go all the way up. But me and my friends decided to walk there from the restaurant we just ate at . It was amazing and really one of those things you'd need to experience in person. Didn't get the chance to go up the tower, but I'd admire it from feet down lol read more

Finally getting to come and visit the Eiffel Tower was amazing. Me and my children absolutely enjoyed it. We came out saturday, November 10, 2018 with hopes of being able to get in and go up into the Eiffel tower but were unable to. For whatever reason they had us waiting outside in a long line in the cold and rain until we as well as many others just walked off from the line and said we would try again. However, even though we were not able to go up the elevator or stairs, it was still amazing to see it in person and visit. My children enjoyed it and I pray they never forget it. read more

The Eiffel Tower was amazing. So beautiful to see during the cold season. We were there a few weeks ago and it rained a little. But it did stop us from going to the Eiffel Tower. A must see. Fun to walk around and people watch read more

It's probably the most famous landmark of any city on the globe and I don't think it disappoints. Built for the World's Fair Exhibition in the late 19th century, the tower was the prime attraction, but was seen as a terrible eyesore for the locals and the aristocrats who deemed it a scar on the face of Paris. They were idiots. It's great. You can get up in a lift or walk up to the 2nd floor. I suggest you walk because it's actually not too strenuous and the queue is much smaller than for the lifts. Also, it is cheaper. When we were there they had a sort of winter exhibition which included an ice replica of the tower and snow all around the outer walkway with snowshoes! The views are obviously incredible, even on a terrible rainy day. The cafe is reasonably priced and the gift shops are quite fun. The Eiffel tower is an essential Parisian experience, miss it and you might as well be in Bournemouth. read more

The Eiffel Tower in itself is amazing, there's not questioning it. This monumental structure towers above an entire city and leaves it's iconic footprint in the minds and memories not only on all that have been to Paris but all those who have never even set foot in france. That said, the Eiffel Tower is a very stressful tourist experience. Regardless of how early you attempt to arrive, you will always be greeted by a queue a mile and a half long. I'm not one to mind waiting in line, but the experience at the Eiffel Tower really is particularly stressful. 90% of the time at the Eiffel Tower you will be waiting in line, and an additional 10% spent enjoying the view. There is a line to buy tickets, there is a line to the elevator, there is a line to the second elevator, and then - all of it in reverse, and all of this really does take hours. That said - there's not much of a queue for the stairs. If you've got the strength and a good pair of shoes, consider the stairs instead. It's a hell of a workout, but surely a very satisfying one. The view from the top of the Eiffel Tower is amazing. In a small room at the top, there are labels showing you where the major cities of the world are in relation to the Eiffel Tower and how far away they are. My home city of Tel Aviv is, for reference, appx. 3,281 kilometers away. Fun trivia! read more
