Authentic food and nice customer service. If you want some good Mexican food then this place is for you. Was in the area for work and thought I'd give this place a try. Menu was big but from what we ordered I know this place cooks up some great food. We had the wet torta and the carne asada burrito. Both had flavor and were very delicious. Some of the most authentic Mexican food in Yucaipa. The torta ahogado is so spicy. It is not for the weak. The Diablo shrimp is some of the spiciest I've ever had. Homemade tortillas complement every dish. Amazing! read more

If you're after no-frills, authentic Mexican food, you've got to try this place! The vibe is simple, but the food more than makes up for it. I had the Carne Asada burrito, which was massive and filled with perfectly seasoned meat and fresh avocado--just the essentials, and it was fantastic. You can taste the freshness in every ingredient, and it's clear everything is made to order. My foodie boo went for the signature torta, packed with all kinds of meats, and I have to admit, I almost had order envy; it tasted incredible! If you're craving authentic Mexican food, this spot is a must-visit. They have hands down some of the best menudo in town, rich, flavorful, and made just right. Serving size for to-go rice and beans was soo small. And the chicken in my taco was questionably undercooked so I didn't eat much of that. Horchata was bland and so were the bites of chicken I had. People were nice and the rice and beans and salsa were tasty. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing and they could have some options on the menu that they're especially good at making but obviously those chicken tacos weren't one of them. read more

I stopped by and bought a chimichanga and two tacos, both with asada.. I did get a lot of food for the money and the food was good..The chimichanga meat was a little on the chewy side, but the flavor was good. The asada that was in the tacos was tender and soft.. I've had my 3rd negative encounter with this restaurant by now. The food is great but the customer service could be way better. They only care about their regular customers. I called ahead and the man on the phone responded with a bad a attitude and said "Alright well you do know that we have a lot of orders so it's going to be more than 30 minutes" Yeah, I do know that. That's why I'm calling ahead. I'm not upset about the wait, im upset about the way they ALWAYS talk to me. I just said it was fine and he hung up on me. I'm always patient and I never have an attitude so I'm real caught off guard. The other day I waited a while until someone took my order and then the cashier left and said "someone else will charge you" a little bit later another lady came behind me and just yelled out my total. I responded with "hello, how are you" because what? Another time, the lady who made my juice rolled her eyes because I asked if the size medium was 16oz. And it's not even like she said "oh hold on let me check". She literally rolled her eyes and left. This happens all the time. They have a bad attitude. No one really acknowledges you unless they know you. Yeah, the food is great but the terrible service is not worth it. read more

One of the few (of many if that makes any sense) authentic Mexican Restaurants in Yucaipa. Serves Hangar (Orange). Try to get there early for the Menudo or your arsed out. They have a picture of the food they serve (it's gigantic, you can't miss it) Tele's always on the games. Parking in mini strip mall across from Yucaipa HS. read more

Tried this for the first time tonight. Honestly, I didn't know it was there. We pulled into the strip mall to go to the chicken place and changed our minds last minute. Ok-inside-it looks like Mexico. Everyone was very friendly. Soooo much stuff on the menu. Boyfriend ordered carne asada torta. He loved it. He says great flavor and the bread was perfect and soft. I had tacos al pastor and carne asada. I am VERY picky about my pastor and my tacos we extremely good. The asada was good too. Oh and we also showed up 5 minutes before closing so they did a great job. We will be back. read more

We felt adventurous on a lazy Sunday and decided to cruise on down to this joint. Surprised by to learn that it has been there 11 years. But, it is a little inconspicuous. The interior looks like a hole in the wall place out of Mexico itself. Was presently surprised it was full service with friendly staff. Mostly booth seating with a couple tables. Food was good, not amazing, but I admit I did order basic tacos and burritos. Free chips and salsa, the salsa was very good. The best part is that it was very inexpensive. We left happy campers. This place is awesome. The chili relleno is seriously the best one I've ever had. The tacos are great. Menu is huge. I wanted a torta but I wasn't as hungry when I got there, and they're huge. I walked in and only asked for a taste of their beans! I was willing to pay a $1! For one teaspoon! If the beans are good so is everything else! I had an N 95 MASK on. Order a strawberries with cream for $5.50. Didn't get much cream and after eating most of it I find a pincher bug in a strawberry. So disgusting wondering if they even bother washing the strawberries. Never again. read more

The place is a bit small and could use some work. The menus are a little outdated and flimsy. Despite that, I found a great looking dish and ordered that. Met some people here today for a lunch meeting. The place itself looks kinda sketchy...But in a good way? I think I am used to the hole in the wall type, coming from L.A. so I was fine with that! The service was fast and friendly. The food was really good! I shared the "Famous Cuban Torta" . This things had so much going on in it...I really don't know what exactly went into it, but it looked like a bit of every type of meat they had in the kitchen. And, I think there was an egg in there too, but I can't say for positive. It was good, but I think they should ditch the hot dog in there and it would have been much better. My wife had the Carne Asada taco plate and said it was very good. I had an Al Pastor taco and it was done right. All in all, if the decor doesn't scare you away, the food should bring you back. read more

Well I wanted to try out a new mexican food place. So I walked in to this place to try what the name says, a torta. Service was great, the guy was quick to take my order. But I noticed there was not a lot of people in the place, about two or three. That amazed me considering it was 12:30 in the day. From where I was sitting I could see the kitchen, it looked very dirty. I saw the gentlemen finishmy order by grabbing a handful of chips out of the hot tray with his bare hands after he had just used them to clean the counter. I got my food and left. The next day, I felt sick to my stomach. I had a bad headache, and felt very nauseous. I had never felt that way before and I knew it had to be from Las Tortas. Food was great, service was great, but food sanitation scores very very low in my book. read more

I've been coming here for a couple years now and it's seriously the best Mexican food place in town. The location is small and it gets warm inside in the summer but totally worth it as the food is so good!...Carne asada tacos...carnitas...al pastor..The fish tacos are hands down my favorite and their salsa is delicious! Bad to-go service.... I called to ask what time they closed and they said 7, it was 5'clock at the time. I called 10 minutes later and their phone was disconnected. I drove to the place to put in my order and I was told it would be 45 minutes... that would be fine if I was able to wait in the comfort of my house!!! Ended up eating Asaderos instead. Answer the phone, you will get more business!!!! read more

We've been customers for years and have always enjoyed the food, which is why this was so…read moredisappointing. From the moment our server (tall skinny guy with tattoos) came to our table, he was rude, dismissive, and acting strange. We are understanding people who have worked as servers and in hospitality previously and decided to remain polite, give him the benefit of the doubt, and attempt to still enjoy our dinner. However, it progressively got worse. He repeatedly cut us off while we were speaking, made sarcastic and strange remarks, rushed us to order drinks, skipped over my sister in law, rolled his eyes multiple times, shouted "if you were listening you would have heard me say I'm bringing water for everyone" very rudely when someone asked for a water, and then didn't return to take our food order for almost 30 minutes after he brought our drinks. When he did return, he was again being rude. It got to the point where he was actually making us feel uncomfortable and we asked if everything was okay and explained that his behavior felt disrespectful. We requested a different server, but instead of addressing our concerns, he began arguing with us, raised his voice, said, "can I trade you guys out" then he abruptly walked away... At that point, we decided to get up and go to the front to pay for our drinks and leave. We explained the situation to the manager, who offered personal reasons for the employee's behavior. While we sympathize with anyone going through a difficult time, we don't feel it's an excuse to treat customers poorly when they have been polite and respectful and put up with his poor behavior longer than we should've have in the first place. As we were speaking with the manager he was nearby and saying weird things under his breath again. While we were walking out after paying with the manager, the server continued shouting at us and saying rude things across the restaurant. He even asked my brother in law if he was trying to fight while we were walking out... we didn't say anything to retaliate and left the restaurant to find another spot for dinner. We had a small child with us and he was acting erratically, so just wanted to share a tale of caution. The food has always been good, the staff (besides the gentleman we had tonight) is friendly, and we've supported this restaurant for years, but hopefully they can ensure a safer and more pleasant dining experience for guests.

They were tasty, but I would have loved to see a chicken option on the menu as well. One thing to note: jalapeños are automatically added to the bánh mì, so be sure to request no jalapeños when ordering if you're sensitive to spice. The seasoning and flavors in both bánh mì sandwiches were excellent, and all of the vegetables served with the bánh mì and egg rolls were fresh and crisp. In my opinion, it's often the little details like fresh produce that reveal the quality of a restaurant, and this place definitely delivered. We arrived around 7:30 PM and were a little concerned that we might feel rushed since it was getting close to closing time. Fortunately, that wasn't the case at all. The staffs allowed us to enjoy our meal at a comfortable pace, and we never felt pressured to leave. The dining area had two TVs showing family-friendly programming--one featured a Vietnamese cooking show, while the other was airing FIFA coverage on a news channel. It created a relaxed atmosphere, and we enjoyed a calm dinner with our 3- and 6-year-old children after a long day at the lavender farm. I also tried the Orange Thai Iced Tea. It was refreshing, though I didn't really notice much orange flavor. There are two individual single-stall restrooms available, and both were clean. Families will also appreciate that high chairs are conveniently located near the sauce and drink station. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely return. Don't pass on this joint just because it appears to be a little hole in the wall. The tacos are excellent and I really could have just made a meal off of the rice and beans. The menu board is a little overwhelming because they have such a wide variety of offerings. The taco was seasoned perfectly. The salsa had a little kick to it, just the way I like it.. Burritos were absolutely massive -- seriously, football-sized -- and loaded with flavorful, well-seasoned meat. The menu is full of interesting options, like the "Super Cali" my son ordered, which came stuffed with carne asada, shrimp, fries, a chipotle cream sauce, and a generous portion of shredded cheese. Big flavor, and a lot of it. Both of us got our burritos wet with enchilada sauce, and it was excellent -- rich, well-balanced, and definitely made in-house. We were also served unlimited chips and salsa, both of which tasted fresh and homemade, a really nice touch. The only downside -- and it was significant -- was the speed of service. While the staff was friendly, the wait was unexpectedly long, especially considering it wasn't busy. That gives me pause about coming back during peak hours. That said, if you're not in a rush, the food is absolutely worth it. Everything we tried was on point. Just bring your patience -- or maybe get the food to-go at Artegas #1.

I could write a long time. But start with authenticity. Their own salsa which they are quiet free with. Quality fresh tortillas, that you can smell the corn...mmmm, and some from Mexico. They have a meat counter and their prices are competitive with the meat looking really good, some is in their own marinade. Speaking with the owner he said they would make anything to our request. He proved it by cutting up a fresh unseasoned chicken breast to make a burrito for my wife who does not eat seasoning on chicken. Darn burrito weighed about a pound. The street tacos, choice of meat, ???? $1.00. One dollar on Tuesday nights. Other $1 specials every other night of the week. Here is the kicker. About the same food that we get from Ai..... ssshhhh for $45 dollars for crappy food, we paid $32 dollars from Fiesta. That is under $11 each and we had food left over. I do not know if this is good news or bad: The owner says at end of month they are expanding the building to $10,000sq ft. .
