There are a number of empanada shops in Cordoba, competing for best. I didn't get to compare but these definitely are very good, distinctive flavors, in a great variety and at an easy price point for a cheap snack or meal. Also, very convenient "fast food" when you don't have time to sit down for a 2h meal (as every restaurant we visited took at least 2h).
When I got home and had Whole Foods hot bar house-prepared empanadas, I was blown away at how much better the La Tana Criolla ones were! I had been so spoiled by Spanish cuisine I didn't realize what crap they have at Whole Foods.
Definitely recommend you try at least one of their empanadas on your visit! read more
