Absolutely charming, great lovely owners, amazing food, dedication to detail
First of all I have to mention that I am vegan and a passionate chef myself. My fiancee and me were looking for a caterer for our upcoming wedding in September 2012. We decided to mainly serve vegan/vegetarian choices and integrate a couple of fish dishes. Gilles and his wife, the owners of the restaurant, were open to take on this challenge although vegan food by itself was relatively new to them. I was astonished how well Gilles prepared the menu suggestions. He really adapted it to our personal likes with an incredible attention to detail and lots of creative talent and dedication. Before the event he invited us to his beautiful restaurant in the heart of Marseille where he presented us 3 amazing menu suggestions. Here I have to say as well that there was the vegan version for me and the fish version for my fiancee. yet, both had the same creative appearing. We could choose from all sorts of wines and he also surprised us with his signature dessert which is just incredible. It's a golden chocolate sphere with fruits inside. When served his wife put hot chocolate on top which slowly melted the sphere for the fruit mix to appear. INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL AND DELICIOUS ! They also do their own house-made Limoncello (all organic). A big thank you again for catering our wedding! It was a beautiful collaboration and everything went so well ! Our guests loved the food served and actually some people said that they could go vegan right away, being served food like this :D The service was lovely, the food decoration stunning, the taste outstanding ! I highly recommend La Table de L'Olivier ! If you are vegetarian or vegan or you want to surprise your partner who is, give a call to the restaurant a day or two before you go and have dinner there and they will prepare what you are looking for. If you want to enjoy something really incredibly delicious, just ask for AngelikA's wedding dish. It's a mushroom, pinenut, spinach roll with a crunchy angel's hair crust, accompanied by rucola/pine nuts, veggies or mashed potatoes. very very delicious :D Enjoy :D read more
