A nice place to eat, close to the city hall and city offices. A little expensive for the quantity of food you get, but you're paying for the location...

Excellent Lebanese food, especially the labneh (yogurt-ish dip). This place does a bunch of…read morecatering and takeaway --- think primarily "mezze platter for 5 people," although they can also do sandwiches. The hummus is flavorful, and richly dressed with good olive oil; the owner didn't skimp on the pita bread, which was quite fresh. The tabouleh was tasty, but bulked up on a bed of forgettable lettuce. Sajna stocks the Lebanese beer Almarza (for a long time the only Lebanese beer); a delightful pilsner, probably the best Mediterranean beer I've tried. The takeaway carries over a little to the dine-in service --- we got wooden chairs with sequined pillows, but the food came on plastic trays with disposable silverware. Didn't affect the flavor at all, but perhaps not the most impressive place for a date. Didn't get a chance to try the pumpkin kibbeh; sounds interesting. Next time!

Unclear if this is a restaurant or an event company that happens to serve food…read more We were craving vegetarian friendly food and Sajna came up, so we thought we'd give it a try. The store owner informed us that he was catering a wedding that day and would only sell us the food he had made for the wedding (there may have been something lost in translation). The food he gave us was delicious, but we would have loved to be able to explore the options. Vegetarians and vegans should consider this place if they are hungry.

This is the best restaurant in Cassis…read more There I said it. Not only will you find the best vegan and vegetarian meals here, you will find some of the best seafood in all of Provence!* During our four nights in Cassis, we ate dinner here four times. It was that good. First off, the menu is humongous, the wine list is endless, and the hosts are the best. The environment is great too as each one of the different areas gives you a different experience. Inside you'll have the AC, but lack of people watching, on the right side you'll be in a more secluded spot in a more narrow street. On the other side, you'll have plenty of people to watch, and cats to pet as they roam in front of their owners house. Anyway, the food was a blast. Having authentic mediterranean/lebanese food was fantastic. The hummus was beyond delicious. If my wife would let me, I would have licked the bowl clean. They also had home made baklava, which was succulent. The wines were mostly from the Cassis region, and paired well with my vegan meal and my wife's pascatarian dishes. On top of it, they had fruit rums (four kinds!!) that the hosts would give out during the desert. Bottomless and delicious, these drinks sealed the night with the aforementioned baklava. I wish every city in Provence had as amazing food as D'une Rive a l'autre had! *A claim by my wife. I cannot confirm this statement with my own taste buds.

The food was so amazing and so refined! The waitress was so nice and attentive (not always the case in France!) We were just visiting Cassis--but, if I lived there-I would definitely be a regular there!

The best falafel I have ever tasted, the texture was smooth and the sesame sauce was excellent…read more There were many people picking up take out orders, which is always a good sign but I never expected such a great falafel.

Absolutely visit this restaurant when you are in Marseille, make it a point to do so, even if you…read moreare going out of your way! We opted to share la menu végétarien, and for 15 €, it was almost enough to satisfy! We had to order a second helping of falafel al a carte (includes 5 extra falafel balls) which was then enough for us to feel oh so good. The fixed menu includes hommos, baba ganoush, tabouli, samboussik jebne (which is like a little samosa with cheese inside), fatayer (another samosa type with spinach inside), rakakat jebne (melted cheese inside Lebanese bread), falafel, and mjadara (potatoes and lentils). There was also a rice dish listed, but we didn't get that. You also get an ample side of pita bread! It's a lot of food and it's all perfectly prepared. At the end of the meal they brought us a couple sweet desserts, one corn based doused in honey, and the other a cream-pistachio topped sweet bread. And! A delicious serving of Moroccan mint tea. This was my favorite meal in Marseille, hands down. If it only were closer to where we stayed, we would've returned for another delicious meal. Don't miss out on this place!
